How to make Body Padding for a Fursuit | Construction tips and trick

- See how I made this body suit padding for the fox fursuit I'm building for my husband. I used dryfast foam and spandex and show my technique for taking a pattern from my scale model. This fursuit body padding is lightweight, breathable and comfortable to wear. It'll be easy to keep washed too! I'll be making some changes when it comes to padding.

Its so cool to see makers experiment with different shapes. I love seeing fursuits nowadays because they all have so much more character than ever before! I am also noticing a greater appreciation for uncommon species!
It's so cool the amount of resources there are nowadays for the craft. I share my techniques because I want to see more cool and unique builds!
@@KazplayVideos This may be something that you have already thought of, but maybe putting gussets in between the parts where the legs connect to the crotch could help with mobility. I know that some makers already add crotch and armpit gussets to help with mobility :)

I love reticulated foam! It’s perfect for the tight muscles I make on my realistic costumes :) Also, your husband made me laugh in that test because he looked like he was wearing a huge diaper lol. Great work, can’t wait to see the finished costume!

YES! Oh kazul you make me smile. I love fursuits but I have always see different characters with the same body like a wolf full suit and a rabbit fullsuit have the same body even though the wolf might be long with tiny feet and small legs or you know just different characters and different proportions but they always end up looking the same body types. I love how you took frostys physical traits and tried to make him as close as his charater then just putting reused digigrade padding on and patterning it up. This is super cool and thank you for a great video. ❤❤❤❤❤❤💯

Absolutely amazing in so many ways. Just simple tips like tying off your blanket stitch in the heavy use spots in case the stitch pops is so useful! And omg why have I been using upholstery foam for so many years.
I had a couple of questions for you. One was do you have a discord? Or a Patreon?
Also, what kind of projector do you use? I've been trying to google it but I seem to be finding ones that project digital media instead letting you project a slide.

I use an old overhead projector, like this one amzn.to/3utFRdZ but I got mine way cheaper ($30) at a state university surplus store. they're probably going to get harder to find, so a digital isn't a bad idea. You would need a scanner to get the pattern pieces into your computer, but you'd be able to keep any registration marks on it. and a digital one would take up way less space. I'm considering going digital at some point, especially if I need to downsize my workroom.

Ah yeah that makes sense. And I have a scanner so as long as the registration mark's still it should work just fine. I'll start shopping around when I finish this head and move on to the bodysuit. Thanks so much for the help! You're such an inspiration :D

Thanks! I used a couple different ones, the lavaier mic is amzn.to/3BsHLvh (cheap but effective!), there was some parts that I used a USB mic to record some vo it's amzn.to/3IcS0aJ and for the movement test clips I just used the mic on my phone (links are affiliate links!

Really great tutorial! I’m using the mini clay pattern to large paper pattern method too for my suits, or trying more like lol. (Using ur models from ur Etsy shop too ^^) Could you do a tutorial on how to do it traditionally by scanning and scaling up your pattern? I’m worried I’ll make it too big or too little 😭
