    The Labrys is equivalent to the red Disc of the Life Force, sometimes called the Aten disc, which appears cradled within of the horns of Goddesses like Isis. Why I say it's the same is that it is the Labrys which is also found between the horns of the Minoan Bull. The Labrys symbolises equal yet opposite forces, like the Yin and Yang. They join together in the center, which is a shaft. If we compare the imagery of the caduceus, the parallels become clear in the mind's eye. There is no doubt that the Sun was given the same importance as the Moon by our early ancestors, as both planetary bodies regulate life on earth and indeed make it possible. However in my opinion the physical sun was symbolic of the generative Life Force. It wasn't the Sun or the Moon which was worshiped but rather the unseen forces behind them, which in turn were personified as the God and the Goddess. As far as the original Minoan culture being warlike there isn't much evidence of mass warfare or fortifications there or in other in earlier cultures such as those mentioned in the video. So while I agree that in every culture there's a need to maintain order and guard against threats, the later warrior cultures such as the Dorians and Achaeans introduced large standing armies and focused on conquest and slavery which again doesn't feature in pre-patriarchal society. After all where there is balance and equality, there isn't any racism either, as is apparent from the wonderful nature centered artworks of Crete. Patriarchal, warlike culture always dismisses or devalues the Divine Feminine and by extension, woman, which causes a fundamental imbalance and has proven to be a big mistake if you look at the problems we face in the world of today Thank you so much for the video ~ really much appreciated.

    Like all ancient pre-patriarchal people, the duality of the Labrys symbol was the same as that of the Yin and Yang, or moon/sun, female/masculine etc. In other words it comprises of two equal pyramidions, joined at the shaft. The labrys is also symbolic of a butterfly, which has obvious connotations with spiritual rebirth, or the dual currents of life and death. The encircled cross appears throughout very ancient history. There is even one which dates back to I don't know when in South Africa, carved into granite. It is often referred to as the Solar Cross or Celtic Cross and represents the solstices and equinoxes. It is encircled like all other magical signs as the circle is that from which all geometry is based. The circle is symbolic of infinity and the cyclical progression of time and seasons and thus, derives from the Ouroboros serpent. Thank you for the video!

  • @zeph6439

    Um...well, actually Athena, Medusa and Neith were originally venerated as the Triple Goddess in North Africa. Athena was serpent haired like her sister, Medusa, and wore a peplos fringed with snakes. Her son Ericthonios was represented as a serpent too. The legends and character of Athena and Medusa were radically changed at a certain time in history, and the goddesses pitted against each other. This was because the Achaean invaders of Greece and Troy wanted to retain Athena, making the Mother Goddess into a patroness of war so as to justify their new warlike ethos and regime; while Medusa was headed for the chopping block. If you examine imagery of the Gorgoneion or Medusas' head it's plain to see that it is really a representation of the Caduceus symbol, which is the symbol of the healing professions. Athena comes from Crete and the Minoan civilization, which existed looong before the Dorians and Achaeans, and was a goddess closely associated with apples of wisdom and eternal life, trees, mountains and snakes - and let's not omit the owl, a bird which is also sacred to Lilith and Eve of the fabled Garden of Eden. Well it seems as if the symbolism of kundalini and the Tree of Life and serpents is not what the male dominated religions and cults want, from the Bronze Age onwards and, according to this video and many other like it, even today. You lose

      The video was about Athena seen through the lens of Homer and various classical Greek sources. The information you suggest is interesting but would be a different video entirely. Perhaps more like my Medusa video: czcams.com/video/rXNKQRIU2cM/video.htmlsi=byEUqSnqiKSLuire Also, if you take issue with my content then simply don't watch it? I make these for fun and present them entirely free of cost. Not sure what your rant on my channel is all about. There is not one way to present Athena. There are as many versions of her as there are storytellers who have tapped into her archetypal energy.

    • @zeph6439
      @zeph6439 Před měsícem

      @@TinyEpics There are only two basic versions of Athena, and in fact, all of the Classical Greek deities. There is the original, true version, and the version made up by patriarchal Greek-Achaean storytellers. That's what I wish to convey. Every one of the Greek deities existed long before the Achaean invasions, and their natures and characters were and are very different. The reason I always go out of my way to highlight this is because Western culture has grown up on reworked and false ideas, introduced by warlike people who went out of their way to reinvent ancient ideas and deities in their own image. It's probably why we are still sitting with endless and pointless wars, fossil fuel economies, and the domination of patriarchal religions and institutions today. However as more and more people are exposed to truth, which is the highest virtue, a sea change is happening in society as we transition into a new Age, leaving all of the male dominated and warlike mistakes behind us. I'm really grateful and happy to be able to assist with this process. By the way most popular Hollywood movies which relate to the Trojans or the Amazons, their allies, and in fact all ancient and contemporary Pagans and our deities are produced by people who promote the incorrect, patriarchal view of things. This is done deliberately, so as to keep relatively uninformed people from their genuine roots. It's wrong, and I enjoy making others aware of it.

    These cycladic statuettes ressemble to the ligurian "statue stele" one can contemplate in the Ligurian museum of Pontremoli ( about 80 such statues 1,7 m tall) .These ligurian statues steles are dated 4000 to 3000 years before Christ, and also ressemble to a number of similar phenotypic steles of the Rhaeti, found in the Trentino Alto Adige. The Rhaeti landed at the estuary of the Atesis ( Adige) after the collapse of the Akkadian empire, bringing their wives children, dogs, ovine, caprine and suine farm animals, as well as instruments such as the plovium rhaetorum ( Plinius priscus,Historia naturalis VIII,8). They founded the city of Este , dedicated to their godess Estu, and build temples for Estu and Ritu, their pastoral godess. The latin exonym Rhaeti is an allusion to their veneration of the godess Ritu or Reitu, also spelled Riti ( my Ritu) Ritam ( accusative form) according to the east semitic akkadian language. E.g. ATUKU RITI UNBIU means: first person sing. of the perfective form of ATA to accomplish an offer, RIT-I ,the semitic postclitic possessive - i ,with elision of the vowel U before vowel :to my RITU, UNBIU ,plural of ENAB : fruit. This incription on bone found in the rhaetic sanctuary of Scuol Rusonch ( Engiadina bassa, Switzerland) has been traduced by the swiss paleolinguist Linus Brunner (+ 1989) which permitted to decipher and traduce a lot of other rhaetic inscriptions and hydro - oro- phyto- zoonyms sparsed in the whole of Rhaetia and still used today in the Valader form of Rhetic Rumonch, sometimes even traduced like: Roschkopf, designing a massive stone ressembling the profile of a head ( akkadic rosh : head and germanic Kopf : head ) See: Linus Brunner, Alfred Toth: Die rhätische Sprache enträzelt. Kulturamt St Gallen ed.1988.

    I dont know, I think Im on her side then I change my mind. She has noone on her side after Aegitheus and the Eriynes, neither of whom support her in her appeal. The Chorus only feed the villanous impression her characterization gives us, they have heard her reasons she gives beautifully in poetry and still infuraiatingly they have no heart. I tend to continue daily to change my mind about her. I disagree that "it wasnt jealousy for the war bride of her husband-Cassandra" in several poetic renderings very jealous words are put into her mouth which would have resonated with audiences, for example Aescylus, Sophocles and ELectra, however, when I saw Iphigenia at Aulis at Epidarus she wasnt even killed but saved before death by Artemis. Similarly I condem her passion for murder rather than moderation, which every Greek wife like Penelope adhered to and she is even contrasted with Penelope by Agamemnon to Odysseus in his trip to the underworld. I also thought that since all of this happened to her her image has taken on the image of a bad Greek wife. Electra tries, I would argue quite successfully to destroy her defense of the murder by saying that she thirsted after her husband Agamemmnon's power and had plotted the coup with Aegeithus for a long time. In her defense its got to have been the Greek attitude towards women in power that gained her the notorious reputation but she doesnt do herself any favours. Her character is one of strength and determination and independent spirit in the face of injustice, she has no support and when she does get killed she is remembered more for the negative qualities than the good, which is typical. Medea in a rare work by an ancient poet, copied down by Scholia in summary but the lost tells us that the she was Queen of Corinth and for her status as a woman was despised by everyone in the Corinthian Court. They even in one version murder her children because of her forign, female stus. Clytemnestra could be described as 'other' like Medea and both are probably hated more because they are women than for the acts they committed-audiences just love revelling in the villanous heroine stereotype I guess.
