Edith Hamilton was my introduction to Greek Mythology. I still have my paper back from 1980. I took an alternative class in middle school in place of seventh grade English and in Eighth grade in place of shop. It was called the enrichment program. Two semesters of Greek mythology and one on politics and the other on (King) Arthurian Tales. It was great to have all that knowledge when the movies Excalibur and Clash of the Titans came out in the early 1980s. I later studied Norse mythology on my own and had a Egyptian history and Mythology class in college.
I haven't read this book yet. Looks and sounds interesting. I have two of Stephen Fry's recent books on the subject, and I found Philip Matyszak's Greek and Roman myths to be a good short reference guide. Thanks for the recommendation.
My pleasure! Stephen Fry's work is very nice. I have the audiobooks myself. Don't have Matyszak's myths yet but will have a look. What I love about this edition is how much fun it is crack it open for a quick reference from time to time. It has a nostalgic childhood feeling with all the illustrations.
I loved Greek Myths when I was a child, brought on, I suppose by films such as Jason and the Argonauts. I bought the Stephen Fry trilogy to listen to on my lockdown exercise walks, and love his delivery and the spoken footnotes. I will now buy this book for an alternative to Steohen Fry. Thanks for the recommendation.

I have bought the the 75th anniversary edition. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand the family tree pages and why some of them reoccur? Ex: Zeus
