    I oftrn think about the exact moment these myths and religious stories and stuff were created like who created zues type stuff i onow that question can often be more complicated than a simple answer but i guess thats why ive always really loved the study of myth folklore and religions

    • @TinyEpics
      @TinyEpics  Před 11 měsíci +2

      I like to think of myths as gradual expressions of human consciousness at various stages in our development. Real events, places, and people inspired the tales, which got carried along by the current of time and shared human experience. All myths point to something within the collective unconscious. People like Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell address these topics through investigating the symbolic world and why we developed myths in the first place.
      I share your curiosity!

    "Hecatoncheires'' did not have 100 hands and 50 heads. There has been a big misconception here. ''Hand" in ancient Greek was also a measure of length, length of the human hand, as ''foot'' in English, so, in fact, "Hecatoncheires'' were some kind of ''100 hands'' tall Giants. I'm Greek, and i'm absolutely sure that even Greeks do not know about that.

After some reading it all just becomes a jumbled mess in my head. So if you've got more overviews up your sleeves to help unmess that jumble, please show! ^^

    • @TinyEpics
      @TinyEpics  Před 2 lety +1

      Early Greek mythology was, in a way, like a very early science. They used it to explain natural phenomena and the fact of existence in general. Their epic poetry was also a way to remember events that occurred in the distant past, so it had a quasi-historical aspect to it as well. If one group of gods overthrows another in mythology it might signify a real victory in a real battle long ago, for example.

  • @thebatmanofneo-gotham5667

    You know what's really odd about the gods of Greek myth?
    The children of Cronus and Rhea are all called the Olympian gods, yet, the children of the other Titans were still called Titans, with Oceanus and Tethys in particular creating the Oceanids. How is it that the Titan siblings had offspring that each went under different names? Shouldn't they all be the same breed of god and goddess?

    • @grauervonnebeldunst3165
      @grauervonnebeldunst3165 Před 9 měsíci +1

      There is basically no difference from a substancial standpoint: Titans are Gods aswell, and many of them were worshipped by the Greeks along with the Gods (Gaia was venerated and probed in her oracles, along with Theia; Ophion and Eurynome were probably venerated by the Pelasgians and so forth) . The Olympian Gods gained their appellative from the fact that they happened to overcome the Titans and attain to the superior part of the aether. Moreover, the Gods pivoted their action around a deeper focus on the cosmic ordering, and became distinguished by this from their progenitors. I remind you also that some Titans (e.g. Prometheus) even if not dwelling on the Olympus, could somehow attain the superior intelligence proper to the Gods just because of his talent.

    First off khaos spoke everything into existence that's a start sir she is a hermaphroditic mother who was without form , ya know that god particle can only exist in two forms solid which would have a physical body and back to its original form a ball of light and dark energy and all of the elements which made up the omniverse, let's take this and put khaos as a factual being not transparent, that's not telling the truth, she's an alien from the cosmos, she's not just nothing dear remember she walks this earth to otherwise nobody can discover anything such as a particle, I'm going to use literal factual creation with religion and start with the gods and goddesses because they only came down to establish woman and man kind, this is a whole other level baby , she's the one the want to battle climate change over duhhh lol , ooops I'm telling to much lol , all of this ties in with reptilians the lizard men of the book to lol , wars etc etc let's really tell it , god isn't a man lol , why change or use myth to control or rationalize people's thought like you own them , oh I forgot you all aka snakes slep with people to breed and then use the gods as a cover up lol , why ? He's trying to make shit non literal why ? There's no new world or old world its just the world period , new world reptilians order huh you mean supremacy people huh lol , nock offs
