Hesiod's Theogony - The Greek God Family Tree (partially) Animated

- Hesiod's Theogony is a treasure trove for Greek Mythology enthusiasts. It outlines in great detail, both the origins of the forces of the universe as well as the gods that personify them. It's both a Theogony and a Cosmogony. However, reading it as a poem is a bit difficult if one lacks a diagrammatic representation of said family tree.
I have taken up the task of making just that.
This video aims to go through the poem, while slowly revealing almost the entire Greek God family tree.

I'm not perfect and unfortunately it shows in my video. But never fear!
I've included a list of the mistakes I made with timestamps:
At 25:36, I implied Cerberus had been killed as part of Heracles' 12th labour. This is untrue. he was actually captured by Heracles, then taken Eurystheus.
At 28:11, Consider Tethys to be the personification of the Mediterranean.
At 33:03, I gave Hera, Hestia and Demeter squares (implying that they are male) when in fact, they should have been circles (i.e. female).
At 40:05, I said, "this statue is wrong." The statue is actually right; I was wrong. I erroneously assumed that the sphere Atlas held was the earth when in fact it is a spherical representation of the Heavens, or sky. In the statue, Atlas is still technically holding the sky, we just have to pretend that the sky is a sphere.

When you think about it, the birth of Aphrodite makes sense. She’s the goddess of carnal love, so coming from genitals removed while attempting sex actually works, and as a sex goddess, it would be improper even for the Greeks to have her be a child at any point, hence her emerging as an adult from the foam.

The "unnamed serpent" who guards the golden apples is Ladon (yes that's also his name). He guards the golden apples in the Garden of the Hesperides.
One version of Heracles' 12 labours has him kill Ladon. In another version he actually asked Atlas to retrieve the golden apples, not killing the apples. While Atlas was away, Heracles took his place. Yes that means Heracles, literally, for some time, *held the entire sky up*

Hello. I am rediscovering Greek mythology. There are many things and similarities that I notice showing more that Greek mythology is nothing else than the poetic description of the physical, psychological and spiritual evolution of the human being.
I share with you my interpretation of some moments hoping that it deserves attention and development, and with your help, do not hesitate to share your ideas:
What if the history of the world until the arrival of Zeus, is the history of the appearance of man in the womb until the age of his consciousness!?:
From the embryo to the infant:
1- Nothingness, darkness, emptiness, nothingness, Chaos - this is the inside of the mother's womb.
2- The appearance of the Gaia embryo in the womb Ouranos.
3- Gaia's embryo grows, takes shape and the first components of the development of the human body are born (the Titans)
4- Gaia and her titans grow to the point of not having any more space in the womb Ouranos which tightens them, imprisons them and suffocates them.
5- And it is thanks to Kronos that they free themselves: With time comes the day of birth and liberation. And the final separation of Gaia and Ouranos is done by Kronos who cuts the part of Ouranos (the cutting of the umbilical cord of the newborn). The baby infant Kronos detaches himself from the belly of his mother.
From the baby infant to the conscious child:
1- Once the baby is released from Ouranos, it is Kronos the infant and Rhea goddess of fertility and milk who enter the scene.
2- With time, while feeding, the infant Kronos only swallows the milk, growing in strength, form and senses, but he is still guided by his instincts, reflexes and animal nature.
3- Until the day when he is given hard food (the stone of Rhea), which announced the end of the age of the infant and the arrival of the conscious child, the end of the age of Kronos and the arrival of the age of the young Zeus.
3- "Zeus the Conscious" little by little, battle after battle, war after war (the Titanomachy, the Gigantomachy, battle with Typhon) finally wins and takes over.
4- End of the unconscious baby under Kronos and birth of the conscious child under Zeus.
5- Zeus settles at the top of the kingdom in the head of the body, gives to Hades the entrails of the kingdom "the belly", and to Poseidon the parts where the oceans and the rivers of blood flow.
6- From the top of Olympus in our heads, our Zeus (our consciousness) rules the whole kingdom at lightning speed, lightning being his main attribute. (All the functioning of our nervous system and our brains is electrical impulses,... interesting coincidence ) 😊

Maybe we can see Metis/Zeus giving rise to the fates being their light/reason/illumination of the mind property, but the Nyx (darkness/trickery/death) is always part of this, so they must be of dual offspring. Very much the Nietzschean Apollo/Dinoysus duality or what Jung will later see with the shadow. Really enjoyed the video!

I don't understand why they translate χάος(Khaos) as Chaos. Yes it sounds the same but these mean different things so it isn't a good translation. χάος is more like a chasm, it is emptiness. "Nothing" would be better than Chaos.

Question if Aphrodite is formed when Ouranus blood spills into the sea, wouldn't the sea be Pontus?
A note for the time stamp 33:11 he says goddesses but marks them with a square instead of a circle, Demeter Hera and Hestia are females not males.

And I would submit that Pontos is the Black sea, Hence the lands around it are the Pontic Steppe, from whence came the Yamnaya, the Proto-IndoEuropeans..

That may be a more modern view of Chaos than Hesiod’s. To him, Chaos was just a formless void from which form springs, so it cannot have a gender. So technically, the first thing to exist was nonbinary.
