Help! Where can I find a lot of other dogs to work around? All the other CZcams trainers say never go to the Dog Parks.

Working dogs- some lines of border collies and ranch dogs. Some lines of German Shorthaired Pointers, English Pointers, and Wirehaired pointers. ) many other breeds of bird dogs still have working lines.

I agree with what you are saying. But what do you do when your dog gets plenty of outside time and playtime with kids and gets training time every morning, but still runs off when calling for her?

No. I wouldn't trust them with my dog's leash. It's a tool that can turn a dog inti the best dog you've ever had or completely destroy a dog. You have to be careful with it and it's use. I've put a lot of time and effort into managing my dog's reactivity. She barely needs and ecollar these days for me. I also know I can't trust her with strange people. But fuck if I'm going to risk undoing YEARS of hard work. I put all this effort in so that HER life was more comfortable. So SHE didn't have to live her life in fear. I'm not risking her comfort and safety.

My family are cattle ranchers using blue healers as guardians. My older brother says these kangals are superior. My dogs are smarter than me. I am not convinced.

My dog is weird she is confidence in many ways but nervous in others. I suspect it’s all down to socialisation and with hindsight should have been exposed to a bigger variety of things as a pup

People ask if my lab is a pure bred due to how slim she is! People expect labs to be chunky these days

I believe it is because of how the silver lab was genetically bred to become silver.. I also believe that leaves the dog with a very negative disposition when it comes to immunity and other responses that other natural colored breeds do not have to deal with.. The same with designer dogs and other dogs miniatures etc.

It's okay for a full breed dog, of any kind... To have little markings or spots here and there just because of how the genetics displaced themselves through generations of breeding.. Even if you get a full bread with papers etc from a reputable breeder!

Hi Stonnie. I'm a big fan of your channel and I have watched a huge number of your videos. I generally do a pretty good job training dogs and I gained a lot of insight from your videos and I really appreciate your patience and love of the animals. You mentioned in this video that you didn't think there are English Fox Reds and that someone should comment if they know otherwise. They are not easy to find, and they're quite expensive, but there are English bred FRL's in the states. I have one and he has all of the color of the puppy in this video but all of the relaxed temperament of the English pups in this video. My friend and hunting buddy has an American Black Lab that is taller than mine, but he weighs about 70 pounds. My English FRL is shorter, and blocky and weighs about 90 pounds. He's not fat and does a great job hunting, but he definitely has the physical and behavioral characteristics of the English labs.

No I wouldn’t trust my dog with some of my neighbors, but I do have one that I would trust with my dogs . He has black lab and our chocolate lab when he gets loose go over to his house and when the neighbor is out side and the boys are out to he talks to them . And if he’s not outside Buck sits there looking at his house waiting for him to come out. And no electric collar on my boys .

Both are the best dogs, the Labrador Retriever….guess my avatar would help you understand my comment. Both Labs are classified as Yellow, just different shades of yellow. Some will refer to them as Fox Red and Cream even they are both considered Yellow. The lighter Lab has good dark pigment in its’ leather (nose etc.), and under that beautiful coat there is probably a lot of dark pigment in its’ skin.

I have a light yellow lab that was from a fox red litter. After watching your video, it explained a lot about my crazy enthusiastic “yellow”. My friends that have the actual yellows are always exhausted just watching her…good thing I’m retired. She needs a lot of activity, the ever ready rabbit.

We are raising our Czechoslovakian Wolfdog using a combination of Stonnies’ methods and Dr Ian Dunbars methods. He’s cuddly, sweet, a good listener, confident, and playful. Recently we’ve started training him to leave livestock alone! It’s a lot of work, but as Stonnie says, it’s not easy! It’s part of being a good dog owner.

Fox red and yellow?

I have a husky and an airedale. Both are working dogs. They work hard in the leisure business.

My 9month old Siberian husky shepherd mix.. freaks out over those bright greenish yellow short plastic person shaped kids at play signs.. every time we pass one in our neighborhood.. 😅

The first issue here is you are yelling at a dog that does not know how to behave. When you create an environment like this the dog will fight or flight. He chose fight. What you should be doing is first teaching him what to do when you are in the kitchen. Teach him out of the kitchen. I trained my dog when he was a puppy to get out of the kitchen, now couple of years later he will not pass the threshold and only come in when I recall him to me. After I call him, If I want him out I will tell him “out” and he will leave the kitchen and lay down past that threshold. Also dogs with high food drive will test your boundaries, you can not yell at the dog every time this happens. Once you the dog can get out of the kitchen back to back 10 times without a fail, then you can correct him if he does not comply but not by yelling. Always have a leash on the dog when you are training. If you get frustrated stop training then come back to it.

They are both yellow English labs. Sometimes the litters produce the red ones. Those are actually my personal favorite. I have a yellow English Labrador retriever. He’s a boy named bear and he has some red in him.

OMG! I'm so glad that these abusive collars are forbidden in Germany. And many of other training methods and items used in other countrys.

Amazing dogs. Very independent but will come back when called. Ill take my 5 year old hunting this year!
