Im not sure where you live or the rest of your followers but im so sorry to say to that im in Sacramento CA,I've been navigating vessels for 46 years and I assure you that if you came here you would not even believe what I see.and no one does anything out of fear of being shot .or assaulted..that's a FACT..I remember when you could talk to stranger. two stroke simplicity still rules. Light weight powerful and ease of repairs. Fuel economy isn`t so good but neither is any boat propulsion is due to hull drag. Modern day motors are too complex and exspensive. 30 yrs. wrenching on em will convince a person.

Keep sacrifice performance America e-tec was the best built outboard ever 4 strokes would not even compare. I have never bought a 4 stroke and i never will. Waste of money

When it comes to the outdoors, I have helped a ton of people. I've helped people backed up their trailers to helping them properly tied a fishing hook. instead of getting mad, help them.

personally, i don't care if someone takes longer. i'm not gonna be a diick about it. I was at the boat ramp and this guy (who is obviously new) took like 15 mins to back in his boat. i was after him and it took me only like 3 mins.. he apologized to me saying he is new. i told him, it's not a big deal at all. We all are new at some point. I told him, he did better than me when i first started. I gave him some pointers and we chatted for a bit. Don't be a ddiiick. No one is a pro at the start..

Maybe you should update the Starcraft photos. I have purchased a 2023 one and couldn't find the fiber cut or bad finishing. The rivets are the same as the photos display, but the finishing seems to be away more polished and well done than what this photo is showing for sure. The cocking is also something I couldn't see as your photo shows.

In 1998 my late father bought a new sea ray signature 210 bow rider. My dad passed away 8 years ago and I continue to maintain it and run it about every weekend in the summer with my family. 500 hours on it and can personally attest to the build quality how it’s help up over the years.

I almost pulled the trigger on a new $65k boat but then I got scared and backed off the idea because I never drove a boat, I don't have a boating license, I know I get get that easily, and I was afraid that I was going to sink the boat if I forgot to put the drain plug in, or catch the prop on a rock, or get into shallow water, etc.... So I decide to forget the idea for now but I almost bought a used boat last weekend because it was a 1997 Cris Craft that was only $11k. I felt that this was the best path for me for my first boat, but I still helped off and I think I am going to push this decision off until I retire and have more time so in the mean time, I will continue to use my Hobie PA14 kayak and add a motor on it (Newport Vessel NK180 PRO) and upgrade my sonar and that should help me get through these next few years before I take the big plunge. I feel like not getting a boat now is the right decision and your video confirms that.

Jet boats are loud, much louder than comparable outboard 4 stroke boat. They are thirsty. They have to be actively steered, you’re never really going “straight”.

Thank you so much. Pretty good brief and guidance for starting out. Just ordered a Endura Max 55lb 42in for my new jon boat 1338, and a 100amps battery LiFePO4. I wasn't sure if I'll use the motor at bow or stern, so I'll nake a transom mount at the bow and find out. 42" shaft looked reasonable for this purpose. Ill be powered by a gas outboard for quick displacement, and electric outboard just for tactical fishing reasons. Pedal, remote and gps ones were above budget 😢

We’ve had a 20hp Honda four stroke in our family for a long long time now. It’s done loads of shingles and a lot of trips where it’s Barely able to get on plane at the end of the weekend from island to shore. Love the motor and its reliability. We just need a transom that can last 85years now. Our grummans 50yrs on now so that’s our next to do. Is it me or does every class of boats have some sort of gem that’s able to handle more hp and g forces despite insurance companies not covering over powered boats..

I have a concern, I am in the market now (july 2024) and I am cautious with it not being boat show season. Any words of advice or encouragement? Thanks for the content.

RVs suck. Boat sucks. New cars now suck. What makes them suck is not knowing how to work on them. The other issue is finding parts because nothing ever seems marked for easing ID. Ignorance isn’t bliss it’s expensive.

In March of 1958 my dad bought a Mercury Mark 55, 40 hp.that was dam near bullet proof. We used that 13 ft MFG from April till October every weekend till October of 1962 at a place called Abbles Warfe in Leonardtown, MD. My dad gave me a one minute instruction on the beach and then said ok, now getin the water. When the rope gets tight I'll hit the throttle and then stand up. From that day on we skied every weekend. That engine never smoked and never let us down. In December of 1962 we moved to CT and and used it well into the 80s. That engine was never put in the shop and my dad never changed the plugs! I love 2 strokers!

I bought a new 2019 Barletta at the Atlanta Boat Show, and nothing else in the market is built like one. They are super solid and quiet. I'm watching the new boat market, hoping we see some serious discounts this fall, and if we go back to a toon, it will be another Barletta with a 350 or 400 Mercury on the back. Bill sold to Winnebago a few years ago, and he was still at the 2024 Atlanta Boat Show, shaking hands with Barletta owners and future Barletta owners. We met him at the 2019 show, and he's passionate about his brand. My wife and I went to the original Barletta plant in 2019, which was an impressive building process.

The Evinrude Ficht hasn’t been manufactured in 20+ years. If any are still running to this day then it’s probably a great engine. Evinrude Ficht engines are STILL popping up on boats all the time. If they’re as bad as all the haters say they are they’d all be extinct by now. 😐
