Biggest tip is to avoid these conditions by waiting for slack tide. Outgoing is worst, but incoming can also present issues. Slack tide lasts 20 min or so in most places and comes 2-4 times a day, depending on location. If nothing else, at least avoid peak tidal velocity, which last only about an hour or so at some locations, again, very location dependent.

I go through that outlet all the time on my 32 footer. First be smart and don’t go out when is not safe regardless of whatever boat you have. Second, never go through the middle, always hug the shoulders. Third, nobody on the bow unless is flat.

Overtaking the wave at an angle is also a good practice. Tough to do in that inlet. There's nothing uniform about the waves. Ive fished out of the Merrimack in Massachusetts for decades. It's known to be a rough inlet, but typically the waves are similar in a series. So going over a wave, you can expect the next one to be at roughly the same angle. There's usually a pattern. I don't see any pattern at all in some of these Haulover inlet videos.

coming from someone that buried the bow on a 22' walkaround cabin and a 27' pontoon that was advertised as a ocean going 6-Pack Dive boat (I refused to take this boat out after only five times out) in this inlet - 1st and most important rule, make everyone go to the Stearn behind the driver - now everything you said is correct and will save you - I started out with an 18' bow rider in early 80's and it took 6 month's before I got brave enough to go thru Haulover with this boat - I lived in south and launched at Homestead Bayfront before they fixed Backpoint and I guess they closed Homestead - I have been through Haulover a couple hundred times - One time I had to throw a line to an aluminum boat that cracked his transomed and dropped anchor in the middle between the bridge and the east exit side without stopping because my 18 only have a 75HP Johnson Stinger - I yelled at him to cut his anchor as soon as he had my line on his cleat - I was able to keep him afloat all the way to the Ram where a swung him onto the ramp - it was a single long ramp back then, nothing like it is today - I have not been to Haulover since the mid 90's even though I live in Pompano Bch area - I am working on getting me another boat but they are crazy for what they want for them these days -

Someone once told me reason water is so rough there is because it's a man made inlet and is not a natural flow of current.

Also just for info - there are a lot of Pontoon boats that do not have any way to drain and can be flooded and they are easy to roll in swells - I flooded a 27-footer with enough water to cover the rear seat with just one wave in Haulover about 15 min after going out with Daughter after going out in smooth water - Never saw the hole open up around 1 am in the morning - that was the last time I ever took that boat out - that was its 5th or 6th time out -

I went 2 times there, and both times was calm. That was disappointing to me. Wanted to record some video.
I was in crazy situation out of Seward Alaska, Resurrection bay to Golf of Alaska.

The funniest boats have a bow that slopes down at the front (04:08) thereby accentuating the scoop effect of gulping in huge amounts of water.

Nope - you have an extremely high chance you will be swamped - you do not have enough freeboard and that cut can open up some real deep holes real fast -

I made that mistake once with a new 27-footer - I never took that boat out again - Paid 28K for that POS and sold it for 3K and think I did good since no one died - I did have a 17ft just like a Whaler that I took through there all the time and the only boat I never had an issue with, in any seas - in fact I want it back but have not been able to find it -
