I've put off buying a Boss Katana, sometimes I really want one then not because I read a few negative reviews. I'm kinda new at this and already have several amps. Cheap tube and a couple SS that were highly recommend. One is the Pathfinder 15R. Another is the Super Champ XD. I have the Boss Katana Go headphones which are fantastic! But to hear you praise the Katana Mark 1 50 I am very pleased. I mean you are on another level of guitar player. If you recommend a cheap Katana as something you can get amazing tone from then I'm getting one! Can't lose, $150 bucks used!

Yep even before your own conclusion Dave for me the MK3 had more depth and feel hands down. Thats not to say the MK1 is inferior as such, its just things nave moved on. Both great amps but the MK3 nails it. Great playing and awesome vid as always, thank you.

Dave, when the chords change, do you still keep playing from one root, or do you constantly change the pentatonic root for each chord?

Hi. Does that tone knob really change anything in sound? Cause I can see you are trying to adjust tone but don't see much tonal difference. I'm about to buy green one (as for that price I dont see any better sounding parlor resonator) but I'm afraid it will go like in HB guitars with one knob that is more a decorative than practical. Appreciate if you could honestly comment about that. Any other, better resonator for about 350 pounds?

yeh some times guitars just don't work some years back i played 70s telecaster it looked amazing but the neck was to thick and it just did not sound good was only £500 should still have took it🥲

The speaker is why i went with the Katana Artist V1. So much so that i have zero interest in replacing the amp. Its that good. If the speaker of the 100 V3 was changed, that's good news for everyone.

You should pitch the speaker switch to Andertons. It'd be interesting to hear the difference between the original Katana speaker, the new one, and the Waza speaker.

U can get Dave murrays 2010 les paul traditional with the zebra pickups from epiphone ...the exact same model with the same honyburst and stripe design with the epiphone trad pro (the very first ones in hony burst and zebra stripe humbuckers with the exact same copper colour tone knobs ...u just need to add the floyd rose like David did and u will have the epiphone traditional wich is the same design as his gibson les paul traditional ...they both came out 2010 ....have a look at Daves les paul trad and then see the epiphone trad pro honyburst ...i know u get the trad pro 2,3,4 but they came out together in the first original ones so check the first ones ...well worth the mony

Dave, this is much more than an introduction to the blues and an appreciation for space in between notes. This is a master class on touch and feel for every note. I've always been more of a chord guy and never found a lesson for single notes and soloing that resonated with me. Until this one. I'm going to use this lesson to learn how to milk every last bit of emotion from each note and connect and explore how they should 'feel', not just how they sound. Thanks for this one.

At least it has an effects loop and a headphone output. I was going to spend 400 bucks on a UAFX plexi pedal, but no headphone out. This probably won't sound as good, but it is a lot less expensive and is sounding prettt good to me.. Most people listenimg will never know tue difference. I have a different style, which is moatly blues rock ( think 80s metal ballads) and this is perfect with a TC electromic 2290 for ducking delay and eventide micropitch im the loop and thats it giing to a PA. Maybe a direct box with an XLR out and ground switch, but thats just maybe. Of course I have to use my Steve Vai morley wah in front and maybe a keeley compressor for sweetening stuff. ❤ Very cool.. I am using a strat with EMG 85 in the brodge and HA in the neck which is a single coil in a humbucker housing. ❤ It sounds great om this demo for sure. I meed to get a zoom camera for youtube vids. ❤ Thanks so much my Brit friend.. ❤

Hey Dave thanks for the video! I had the exact same issue with the unit but after upgrading the firmware (to 1.5.2) and putting the volume block in front of the signal chain the "fade" thing is eliminated and i´d say the gaps are pretty much gone. It´s still annoying that the unit doesn´t react when pressing the button but switches when you release it but yeah...once i got used to it it works for my live setup :-) Keep up the good work!

Boss changed the game by allowing everyone to have a world class amp at a super affordable price. You don't have to sacrifice tone for price and that is crazy.

Always appreciate your candid thoughts on amps, as you've wailed quite impressively on Marshalls etc. throughout all of your vids. The Katana not only checks many boxes; it's also so underpriced for what it's capable of, and will never need re-tubing as well.
