- So so HAPPY to have this guitar in my possession. I really do feel that this series of guitars was some of the best Fender ever made.
What do you think POTT? :)

To my mind Teles prove that less is more and in Dave's hands they become so much more. The lack of a whammy bar and a pick up seems to make you think much harder about what you are playing and the sounds you get. The end result is sublime and shows a versatility and feel that most of us can only dream of. I am very happy that you are getting into Teles more and more.
Agreed. My first decent electric was a Tele I bought in 1993 and I've always gravitated toward them
you truly made that guitar sing bubble
A 'concept album' composed on the fly. Thanks, I enjoyed that very much.
Sister White!
I must say that "sister white" does sound amazing... but like I said before, you could play a broom and make it sound amazing, but even with the pedals, I could still hear the telecaster voice pushing the pedals and amp... a very good telecaster. Bravo Dave, Bravo!! 👏 👏
I gotta say, i already love to listen to your playing style, but this tele really is over the moon. The sound you are pulling out of this tele really match up to your play style. Great video.
This guy is incredible..not the sounds most people associate with a tele..but goes to show.. you can do anything with the original design.. don't fix it if it ain't broke.
Those are pretty much precisely the sounds associated with a Tele.
(TV Advertisers voice) From Fender! 50s and 60s reissues! Builds up week by week into a collection you’ll be proud of! Why not collect them all!
makes me so happy watching you make music with a tele, for years and years i only had a tele, a mexican one, it sounded good but i always found it difficult to play and found myself fighting with it, now, it is my favourite guitar by far, no matter if i try an expensive guitar, my tele now feels like home and im just excited everytime i see it, it took me years to understand it and get used to its body and idiosyncrasy, i tried hard, but i just couldnt figure out what this guitar was about, and then i had that moment when everything falls into place and i finally got it, i just love its honesty and character, no nonsense guitar, you have a bad day? you have a good day? the tele is gonna show exactly what you mean, so you better be careful with what you mean, lol
My battered Mexican Tele is one of my favourites. Bought it bashed up so no preciousness when gigging (which is why - even if I had the money - I'd be reluctant to take an expensive, pristine guitar out to play...)
Dave I have the exact same Tele. You’re so correct about these being one of the r best series Fender ever put out. I also have the Strat twin brother. The pickups in these are incredible. Enjoy it brother. Great find.
Brilliant guitarist
Very nice. The Classic Series ran right up until the Vintera line released in 2019. They are great guitars and seem to get forgotten about. The road worns were the same guitars but with a relic finished. They also made the Classic Series Lacquer series 50s and 60s Strats and Teles with nitro and tweed case. The Classic Player line ran along side the Classic Series but they came with bigger frets and more modern radius.
And custom shop pickups!
Absolutely beautiful playing mr Simpson. Loved it.
Amazing as always!
Congratulations, I hope you and the Tele have many happy years together. Excellent playing, as always.
No words bro. Thank you for being you , and sharing with us.
Gorgeous. Congrats!
Dave, you have a gem there! Awesome playing!!
I’ve waited what seems like an age to see this video - it’s still playing as I type this. Really great to hear you talk so fondly about the guitar and then play it so well. This gave me a tinge of sadness as well though - if you ever want to borrow it just shout up🤘👍
Big up Dave. Loving the new tele. Looking forward to hearing more from red giant.
Incredible as usual! :-)
awesome "mini concert" mate!!
loved the "voodoo chile" flava near the end wooo!!!
Dave that was awesome!
For sticker residue --------> WD40. Let it sit for 10 mins and it just falls off.
Goo Gone or even a jar of mayonnaise work well too.
3M also makes a product, but yes, WD40.
@USAJ31 I hate the smell of Goo Gone, and I would never put mayonnaise on my guitar, it's not a sandwich. 😂😂😂
Hand gel also removes sticker residue
Hair drier and bank card takes care of sticky things. Softens shit to scrape right off, then there's 40 grit sandpaper.
Looks like you've been living healthy Dave. Keep up the good work.
"Content" is my favourite of your demo tracks for a good while!
Beautiful telecaster, Dave. Very happy for you!
BTW, some awesome playing there Mr Simpson. Truly exceptional! Particularly the segment you've labelled "Content". Beautiful.
I got legitimate musical chills listening to that. Makes me really want to start playing more often and writing music again. I lost my motivation recently.
What a fantastic video for some reason I am a fan of the fender telecaster have a wonderful weekend Dave ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Dave doing the pelican move at 16:51 !
Move with the music they say. Thx for this.
Hello from belgium. 😊
Great stuff ! Thanks
Ciao Dave, fantastic guitar but your improvisation is amazing! 😎👍🏻 have a good weekend!
Big up Dave, nice tele. Looking forward to hearing more from red giant.
It was Muddy Waters go to, it's going to moan the blues. I really think that tele suits your style a lot Dave
Unbelievable I just bought a telecaster yesterday!!! I just might add that Dave’s playing is something that comes out of a dream of someone that has been to a different planet. He’s definitely becoming one of my guitar heroes.
Dave, I've only got two solid body electrics, and they're both Teles. So, you can imagine my delight when you spoke about your growing appreciation of this wonderful model. Over the years I've watched a lot of CZcams videos where very well informed presenters (also excellent guitarists) state that they think the Telecaster is the most versatile electric guitar there is. This video certainly testifies to that. Let's please see this lovely Mexican Tele feature in many more of your future videos.
5:15 Its been few years since I discovered for myself that white spirit absolutely destroys any residual glue/sticky gunk on any surface. Never used it anywhere near a guitar though. :)
I'm very glad it ended up in your hands, Dave! It was in an even worse state when I found it - an antique dealer had bought it and used it (found quite a few picks stuffed behind the guard!) but he had died and it laid in a garage for quite some time until family got in a house clearance company who then sold it in a junk shop. Cleaned it up best I could, but knew I didn't have the skills to bring it to its deserved quality so listed it on FB. Top Job!
Ooohhhhh MAAAAAN!!! "See Those Blue Eyes" Is amazing!!!!!!
You make this Tele sing again. Thank you, Dave.
i intended writing a long winded comment on this performance but it came down to two words "effing amazing" thanks dave
My favourite thing to use on sticker residue is eucalyptus oil, it works immediately, smells nice and its natural too.
The Tele was my first elec guitar and is still a great guitar. You made this one sound fab. I do like a P90 single pup Gibson dc junior though - so simple but you can get a lot out of those too. Great playing as always, Dave. Beautiful in fact.
Class looking tele great addition to the White family!🙂
cool tele dave! have a american vintage II 63 tele and I love it to bits ...teles are awesome and the bridge pu is pure fire 😊
the sticker gunk could have been residue from the clear protection film if it was left on for ages
I bought a MIM Player Tele about 2 years ago and it instantly became my main gigging guitar, absolutely love it.
after the show-n-tell and performance dave will be serving appetizers and refreshments 🎵r0ck0n 🎵
Classic Player series Dave . Very nice Tele 👍
Dave superb guitar .. I really want one now. You should use the jam you played as an intro tune on your next release. Love that tele tone.
See Those Blue Eyes & Tele & Simpson = 10/10. Don't play any other guitar... your search ends here!
Dave has outdone himself...once again!
I'm still replaying Mr Simpsons bucket head cover. I think that is some of the best playing I have ever seen.
Nice one Dave. It sounds great, more of your own voice than Mr. White. Looking forward to hearing Master White or White junior more in future vids.
I am VERY happy to own a white mexican fender tele as well! Mine has a maple fretboard, I ordered a mint pickguard because of yours, it looks really cool!
Great guitar mate , i will look out for one too.
Also i love the Series on Play like Rory Gallagher 👍🏻🎸🎸🎸
Love it. Nice playing. As much as I love Orange, Marshall, and such. I still think a Telecaster sounds epic through a Fender amp cranked.
call Dave phenomenal player I'd like to have that on a recording very expiring music wish I had that talent
Fantastico 😊
Nice family !!
Your collection of guitars you could name "The Simpsons"...just an idea 😎
Always fun to watch your videos 😀
Nice one Dave, Tis a thing of beauty! Have you thought about fitting a B Bender???
Love white strats and teles with dark boards.
Hey, look! It's that guy from Red Dwarf!
It's Red Giant, in'nit?
@@cchavez248 Psst...it was a joke.
@@jltrem I kinda figured, but I wasn't sure...🤔
Craig 😅no Dave Simpson of Red Giant 🇬🇧
Nice! I have my two favorite guitars, a 3T Sunbusrt 2006 60th Anniversary Model Strat with a rosewod fret board and parchment 3 layer white/black/white pickguard, and a 1986 G&L ASAT 3T Sunburst with an ebony fretboard and a black 1 ply pickguard. edit; all you need is a strat and a tele
I love your logic; I’ve got 3 of the series of guitar, I have to get the rest. I’d think the same way much to my wife’s chagrin.
You sir are an inspiration. Thank you for your videos
they stopped in about 2019 give or take a year Dave I had the same one, tho a 2006. One of the best guitars ive had and THE best tele i have had and i wish i had never sold it. U R right tho, the classic series were some of the best fenders ever made at least w/o spending a fortune. I still have a '02 '69 thinline and '02 70s rosewood neck strat. Probably my fav strat to date with van zandts i put in it and a callaham trem.
love a nice tele
Love the dark fretboard
You should be one of the busiest session players out there.your easily as good as Tim pierce 🎸🎸✌️
Tim who...heard the names really😅🇬🇧
True 🇬🇧 👍
Getting drawn to Telecasters is an age and experience thing! I learned back in the black & white days on a Tele, then had lessons on a Gibson Blueshawk! I owned a Gibson Blueshawk very quickly but hever owned a Tele until in my later years! It has now become one of my go to guitars along with a DC Jr! Sadly my other, more expensive collection, has been relegated to their cases and storage!
Hi 😊👋
It’s now the Vintera. The player has more modern appointments.
Mr. & Mrs. White are a great looking couple😉👍👍
😎✌👍❤🖖
I had that exact same model, same color, for several years. I sold it along with a couple of other guitars to help pay for my R9.
I have a 1952 Vintage telecaster Blonde and it is amazing...
Great sounding Tele. Something about those rosewood board early 60’s Teles really appeals to me. They have a bit less spank and velvet smooth tone.
That Tele has a lovely voice Dave, great to see you getting into them. Surely "Sister White" to go with Mister White?
Remove sticker gunk with acetone, or nail polish remover, works a treat. Oh, I have a 50s classic reissue Tele of that vintage and it's superb.
Nice Tele Dave
I need to invest in a tele I really do love them. Can you do a By The Way tone video next?
The guitars excite on the narrow bottle.i like white telecasters and strats
Hello Dave I always knew your talent was gigantic like red giant
Its a Classic Series or a Classic Player?? Lovely guitar mate!! 👍🏻
I love the sound of a telecaster there's something melodic about them that one can't find on others guitars . I have a Baja Telecaster special edition shell pink that i love so much . Most of your videos you don't play telecaster but when you play one is just mesmerising , it just sounds magical . Can i ask you what string gauge you have in this guitar?
I have 10 - 46s on it. :)
Great video, great music..... nice one
That Mint green pick guard is drop dead Mint sexy gorgeous......
Woteva you did when you sanded it back, such a happy accident...🤙
Ps...if Tele's are good enuff for Jimmy Page and Johnny Greenwood, they're good enuf for a Red Giant.....😎😎
You've got the intonation as clear as a Bell there...... stunning sonics now.....cor bloody blimey......
Would really like to see video of you playing it in the Band......
The 70s starts are underrated in my opin, love any tele tho btw
I have a 2012 Mexican made fender tele aswell. Got a good price for it 4 yrs ago. Just $400
Tasty jam...
5:24 Got to ask, Dave…maybe that “gunk” was a protective plastic sheet that wasn’t peeled off? I know, daft query. 😊
2 series 1.,the classic series, like youre strat, traditional spec 2.the classic player series, which were pricier and had a mix of vintage/modern spec and were custom shop designed, and included the baja tele.discontinued in 2018.replaced by vintera series, which i dont think are quite as nice
I love telecasters
I also own both a white Stratocaster and Telecaster.
Did you ever watch John Coupland? He's a English CZcamsr guitarist too.. He's really good also.. He's older... He's a older English gentleman... He might even be Irish
My last comment wasn't the comment I was tring to edit by the way. My first comment didn't post at all. I can assure you it was funnier than a dog getting woken up by it's own farts. Made me laugh anyway, well someone has to laugh at my comments. I like the guitar in this video is the long and short of it. I have been gravitating towards T style guitars ever since that Fender Tele delivery van overturned outside my flat and boxes from it accidentally ended up in my living room. It's a mystery how they got there. Nice guitar!
Loved todays Jam Mr S, was that the Harmonist doing the low octave? Thanks
It was the zoom. :)
If the Strat is Mr. White, I hereby call the Tele Jesse (Yes I know Breaking Bad jokes like that are overdone and I do acknowledge that, it still works here lol). Jokes aside that’s definitely a cool guitar, maybe another cool name for it could be Syd because it kinda reminds me of Syd Barrett’s old Esquire before he put those reflective disks on them
Dave
I think those are the classic “series” not the “player”. I had a 60s player strat around 2010 and they only came in two colours, sunburst and a sonic blue, not white. They also had a two screw trem as opposed to the vintage six screw and a more modern 12” neck profile so not quite as period correct as the series guitars. But it did have Fender 69 pickups which were some of the best vintage voiced pickups I’ve played through. I bought a set later on for another guitar. They also only did a 50s and 60s player strat there was no 70s player that would be a classic series also.
