Excellent info. Love your videos.
I read down 6 or 8 comments and didn't find what I was looking for so I guess I'll just ask. Why are you paying someone else to dive, inspect and clean? Bro, if you own a boat you need to do that yourself. I've seen people get stuck where they didn't want to be simply because they never did anything like that before. After I did it the first time ever, my wife started doing it because according to her, I wasn't getting it cleaned like I should. Pfft, what does she know anyway? At least I don't have to do it anymore and we're both 70. She thinks she's a regular Esther Williams now. Fair winds and following seas.
Think that diver cleaned your neighbor's boat.
You guys are so entertaining and just love your videos
I was watching another channel(Tula) and they had their boat bottom painted and it was in the water in West Palm for a month, the barnacles were a bit smaller. But also fresh paint, that might slow them down.
happy 4th from capt flint -- cheers mates
You are such a natural. How do you use your DJI microphones … do you plug the receiver into your multiple cameras or record it directly into the transmitter and download and synch? Is it relatively easy both ways?
Have you tried Biobor or some other fuel treatment?
NO, that boat bottom has not been cleaned in a long time in many areas.
Really nice video!!
Thanks for sharing all that
Stay safe. Give a shout out if you come near Point Lookout Maryland.
Cool video guys, enjoy!!
Most likely the shear pin in the thruster did its job. Does your motor run but blades dont turn? If so 99% sure it is the $5 shear pin. Depending upon the model you might be able to access this from inside the boat. It is a fairly simple fix. You probably dont need to wait until the trip is over. I know you dont often use the thruster but would be comforting to have it available. Order a few extra pins.
You realise it's a great video when it ends just as you think it is starting👍👍
Roger out !!❤❤
What is the name of that song just before you reached the island??
Install an ultrasonic antifouling system. Easy Peezy.
The sales pitch for an ultrasonic antifouling system reads well. Actually, so good that I question it’s accuracy. Do you have first hand experience with one?
Good luck
Get one of those head band flashlights. Worth its weight in gold when working in the engine room. It’s always pointing where you’re working.
Have to have the hull cleaned every two weeks in Florida from June forwards especially this year as the waters warmer and all the nutrients being thrown into the waters from golf course and farm field run offs, you can almost see the growth grow in front of your face.
Man, we were there at the same time and came by the pool just before you guys. (The guy in the ball cap was still at the bar). I got a photo of Triton anchored out if you’d like it!
What about hiring a co. to polish the fuel in the tanks . In some locations stateside there are people that do fuel polishing .
Wonder if there is a breaker reset on the bowthruster ? Safe seas
Electric Thruster? Maybe consider getting a clamp-on Ammeter that will do DC. Once it is working again, you can get a baseline current reading. And if it goes up, you would know to check. (Handy piece of test equipment in general.)
Excellent 🎉🎉🎉
Did you do a video on that electric outboard for the dingy? Looks like a cool little unit.
For diesel additive I’ve been using this for years and boats and also my own diesel pick up. It works excellent but I think it’s one of the best ones in the market.,, hot shot secret Diesel extreme , it will help clean your injectors out specially, the tips good it’ll help lubricate the high pressure pump and also help boost the fuel and also will help protect metal fuel tanks. It has a special additive in it for that. It has been tested for horsepower wise racing diesels so far up to 3000 hp
A few things. Regarding the algae. You need to have your tanks “Polished”. When they do that they basically suck right off the bottom of the tank. They filter all the fuel several times and they do it at high flow to get all the sludge mixed up to its drawn out along with the water. The algae lives in the water in your fuel tank. The sludge is actually the algae’s poop. There is several types of fungicides to treat the algae. There is the maintenance doses and there is shock treatment to kill it. The people who polish tanks will know exactly what to advise and do. The bow thruster probably has a “weak link” coupling between the motor and the gearbox. So if you google the brand and model of thruster you’ll probably find what you need to investigate.
That water clarity is ALWAYS STUNNING.
Sounds like divers cleaning the underside is a big fraud gig, most boat owners will never know if it was done or not if it’s in the water as they never see the bottom. Eventually they get caught and Matt’s bottom cleaning becomes A1 bottom cleaning 😂
No excuse not to be able to check their work with a go pro even off the side. They seem to have no problem uploading CZcams videos. And I’m not condoning bad work or ripping people off.
Was the name of the Titusville bottom cleaning service shared?
How do you guys like the Epropulsion motor? I’m thinking about getting one for my dinghy.
A sweet little Roger-Out was quickly sneaked in during the gasket scene..... as Borat would say; "Very Nice!"
I told you it was those darn barnacles. A bit of advice. Keep an eye on the water depth and most importantly no more than 15 cocktails a day per person 25 if you’re riding but 15 if you’re driving.🎉
Glad to see you guys again. and I enjoy your videos!
Don’t ya just love that ePropulsion outboard??!! It always works and it’s so quiet. We bought an extra battery for ours. Comes in handy when we’re pushing the run time. 😂😉 As always, excellent video guys!
With respect to your bow thruster not working check your breaker to see if it tripped. As for the barnacles and being a Florida boater they are typically on steroids this time of year!
Great video - I've been boating for 40 yrs up and down the Southern California coast and Mexico. In all my years of boating, I've never seen a bottom and running gear so fouled. I think the old cleaners may have been taking you to 'cleaners'. No way you can build up crustation's and other sea life like that in 3 weeks. Tight lines and have a happy 4th!
The water is much warmer in Florida than California so there's a big difference, but you're correct that was a lot of barnacles

The diver never did the work, he is screwing you, believe me. He thinks you are a sucker. Like the barnacles. (satire)
May the Adventure continue - Nice work feeling just like being there - Cheers
Loved it!
Perhaps a run through with a fuel polishing system and a through fuel tank cleaning would provide some benefit.
Have an awesome Independence Day Ed and Lynn....roger that
Hope you are safe during that hurricane beryl ......
Hope you had a good crossing, last time we cruised to Spanish Wells it was dry - no alcohol. I remember we used a pilot called 'Little Woody' to cross the bar - he even brought us home made Johnny Cakes to the boat. Great memories...
Haven't been around in awhile. You...its a youtube thing. You guys look great.
I'd clean your boat for trade. I'd really like to learn the ins and outs of a hatteras and spend a few days on one. I'd pay for my own necessities of course, food etc.
The way I see it you would have to be performing the same repairs on a cabin in the mountains of a comparable age. The difference is when you’re done with repairs to your yacht you can show it off everywhere you go!
2:58 As usual good work Captain! Well done!
