One of my favorite aesthetic tidbits about AC1's throwing knife:
Your throwing knives are real physics objects in Altaïr's 3 holsters-One on his shoulder, one at his waist, and the last on his boot. Depending on how many throwing knives you have left, Altaïr will have a unique throwing animation from each holster. Such a nice detail!
Sometimes, you can use throwing knives beyond the lock-on range, but you need to aim carefully. Possible in the Ezio trilogy as well.
    Wonderful vid as always, Kino!

Thanks Shrooms! And yes, AC1 has my absolute favorite throwing knives for this exact reason. I love the holsters and the animations that go with them, and I’m very sad we never got something like this again. It is certainly possible to unlock throw knives but it is very difficult to aim, so some experimentation would be necessary to figure out a consistent method

Yeah man. I really loved that Altaïr drew his knives from different holsters

If you throw knife at a wall or a wood object it have a sound!
Ir removed from ac2 for no reason!💀

No problem! If you haven’t seen them already I have a similar series for the Ezio Trilogy explaining almost all of the stealth mechanics

This is probably the only game where character actually grabs and throws knives from belt instead of magically appearing on hands.

Just watched all of these ac1 guides, good stuff, very informative. I was pleasantly surprised that people still play and make videos about this game 👍

I’m still releasing some more in the neat future, I’m not quite done yet. If you liked the guide content, I also have a playlist of guides for AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations

In combat you can use this combo to force a knife throw: Unlock, jump back, lock on, attack. Experiment with hold to lock to make the juggling easier. See j4k8's shortblade techniques video for examples

Yeah manual jump side and back eject speacially in ac1 are pretty usefull its also use full in fist fights in ac1!
Manual jump is also good for stopping an animation attack

A usefull tip: if two gurds are a little far from each other and you throw knife manualy and high profile assassinate the other gurd before knife hit him they will not detect you but if you lock on target it will not happen mostley usefull on rooftops
(High profile assassination is usefull becous altair will jump if gurd is far other than that you can low profile assassinate him)
Ihave a good idea for thwowig knives! Use them for thworing gurds down so you creat a attention and for hunting other gurds ! Thats a good idea! And for throwing them down they must be near the bulding and they should look at you and then you throw knife (becous in ac1 if you throw knife from front the animation is a little bug and gurd throw him self🤣 and we can use it for stealth!)
And thanks kino for suggesting my idea in the video (:❤😄

If these were in the rpg ones you would have to throw like 15 just to get them down to half health 😂

Noise in basically every game from AC1-AC3 is a little odd. The important thing to remember is that it is based on the profile of the tool, not on its actual tools. It’s easier to see this in AC2, where you have Low Profile Tools like Poison Blade and Throw Money, compared to High Profile tools like your projectiles that are treated like a high profile assassination. It’s a little confusing at first but once you get used to it it’s pretty easy to work around.

You can either pickpocket Thugs (NPCs who wear knife belts) or you can return to the Bureau
