great to see you uploading again! I think you're going to smash 100 miles and beyond!
Can't wait for it
Was looking forward to this vid after seeing the Strava just casually dropping 51 miles keep it up!
hahahah thanks man!
wow the sunset at 7:50 looks insane!
Awesome! Great job! That’s some BIG miles & big calories! What a beautiful sunset!
A nice sunset always helps through the pain
Wow, that sky on lap 11 🤩 well done you are amazing. X
Great to see some race day strategy and nutrition! I know you said that you wouldn't want to do a full day of eating, but it would be nice to see an updated grocery hall so that we can see what you eat more on a weekly basis to support all of this training.
Always get so excited when you upload videos!
Wowo man, that's a great workout pre Ultra.
If you allow me, I would like to give you three pieces of advice for the race:
1) Nutrition while you run: you can try to carry a soft flask or 250/300 ml bottle with water and a gel to drink 10/20 minutes into your run.
2) Nutrition between loops: since when you run you eat something sweet, something salty can be used here to avoid getting cloying. Don't rule out using salt pills (it could be one every hour or two) and caffeine pills (Ultra runners recommend between 50 and 100 mg per hour for someone your build).
3) Pacing: if you find it "uncomfortable" to go 9:00-10:00 min/mile, you can try alternating 4 minutes jogging at a speed that is comfortable for you without wearing yourself out with a minute of walking.
I don't know if any of this that I learned running some Backyard Ultras and attending others will help you, but I hope you have success in your career.
It's great to see you uploading again!
Greetings from Argentina
You made 50 miles look easy! And that pinkish red sunset with the palm trees was amazing. Great job and best of luck on the race!!
Great work, that looked hard! Having done a few of these style races myself, my number one advice would definitely be to slow down quite a bit. Most people out there will be walk/running the laps anywhere from 45-55 minutes to minimize that fatigue, even the pros running for days on end. Keep it easy and fun and stay fueled, you're gonna kill it!
been waiting for a new vid youre in great shape my friend crush that race
Absolutely amazing work mate! What an inspiration
Thanks brother!
You have really grown up....... looking like a grown man. Glad you r still running. # Time Waits 4 None Of Us ❤
I didn’t know jimmy g grew his hair out
Another cool thing about these type of ultras is that your aid is every 4 miles and if you feel like crap one loop, you can recover fast on the second. Can't wait how you perform man!
Loved watching the video and wish you the best in your backyard ultra! Just curious, on average how many days a week do you stretch and for how long?
The burgers made it all worth it 😂
Great job by the way
I wish you all the best on your ultra. Please be safe. Loooooove
Love this sooo much. Thanks for sharing your practice run
Thanks for watching it! Stoked to race soon!
super excited to meet you at babbits! im a sedona local and will be competing at babbits again this year. Look for a big purple tent with Sedona Scorpion Logo on it! :)
Evening lighting is majestic......
I did my first backyard last week, definitely needed way more salt
Goodluck on yours
Salt is the 🔑
There he is! Lap 11 sky was amazing.
How was Hood to Coast?
I’m running my first 50 mile ultra marathon on Saturday. I can’t wait. Wish me luck
Definitely want to do the really long runs with a fully loaded vest on. A couple of kilos makes a big difference on your gait and smashes everything. I'm sure you know that because you're a quality runner.
Bro missed your videos. Keep in touch
Nice job bud
Serious question: You appeared to be under fueled by the end. Why not eat more between laps? For example, why not eat a burger or a pizza slice between each lap or every 2-3 laps?
76 000 steps is insanity 😅😅😅
I would need to choose a route with multiple toilet options. Stomach issues would be almost half the issue with this challenge.
amazing, I wonder how many hours you slept afterwards
Have you noticed any differences in health, energy, running, recovery etc since you now include more meats and animal products in your diet?
The energy is much more consistent throughout the day for sure
Minute 1:48😂😂
