Arsenal fan Turkish and Spurs fan Flav argue it out, working their way through each position on the pitch and deciding which of their players should be on the team sheet. Whilst they might agree on Declan Rice, things start to hot up when it gets to James Maddison or Martin Ødegaard..
The Eleven brings a classic pub debate to life. Two rival football fans go head-to-head, to debate which players would make it into a combined team from their clubs. The Judge - a neutral fan - has the final say on each position on the pitch.

I’m a City fan and I rate zinchenko but Udogie is much better at most the things you’d want from a fullback. Zinchenko would make a better midfielder but why should that matter when we’re rating left-backs
How can you create a team based on this season but then discount Spurs players because they have only played for Spurs this season?

I agree that Porro should be in over White, White's been poor this season. Zinchenko is something of a defensive liability, but sort of like Trent, his main job is his work in the midfield. Plus, Premier League champion. Having a liability as a centre-back is not great, and up until this bad run of form Arsenal have had in December, they were the best defence in the league, thanks to Saliba and Gabriel.

Current form + somewhat overall, but who I would take rn:
GK: Vicario. No debate
RB: Ben White. Porro is currently better this season, but I think White is honestly underrated. He's a better defender and can get up front and put in decent work. Porro is not slouch in defending, but I think White edges it on that department by some good distance (attacking-wise it's Porro, but I'm taking White)
CB: Saliba. Right sided centerback is Saliba. No debate, as much as I love Romero, Saliba is a lot better on the ball and especially with composure
CB: Van De Ven. In a short space of time, VDV has been top 3 defenders this season. I'm genuinely surprised on how well he settled.
LB: Udogie. Zivchenko at City was great. Zivchenko at Arsenal is patchy and is honestly more of a defensive liability. Udogie is the best leftback in the league rn.
CDM: Rice. He gets in. No debate
CDM: Sarr. Bissouma was great until he got that red and then he started to be somewhat patchy. Bentancur just came back. Partey did his hamstring but he was great last season, but there's no gurantee that in-form Partey will be back. Havertz is not getting in. Sarr has been so under the radar. His work rate is one of the highest at Spurs, both defensively and offensively
CAM: Maddison. Odegaard last season was phenomenal. But somehow Maddison when he was playing before the Chelsea injury surpassed the performance of last season Odegaard. Odegaard this season seems indecisive at the final third at times, but no doubt these two have quality on the ball. But if it wasn't the injury, Maddison would've been player of the season. Taking Madders on this one, but it's up for debate
RW: Saka. As good as Kulu is, Saka last season and even this season at times is ridiculous. His stats aren't as great this season vs last season, but he still gets a lot done to create chances for others.
ST: Son. Jesus has technique, but he and Nketiah have one thing in common and it's that they cannot finish off their chances. Son is probably the best finisher (I'm not saying striker cuz that's Henry, Suarez, Shearer, Kane etc.) in the history of EPL if you see his Xg vs goal tallies he has, it's ridiculous. No debate here.
LW: Martinelli. Because Saka is so good, I think opponents sometimes forget how good Martinelli is. I honestly like him better because he seems more direct on the ball. Even when other Arsenal players aren't performing, he seems to just say screw this, I'll create chances myself and more often than not, he does create a lot of good chances.

True, but he made Arsenal tick for a large part of last season. If Udogie was putting in similair game-changing performances either defensively/offensively, it would be up for greater debate. Issue is that Udogie is not sound enough either way to put him ahead of Zinchenko.

As a Liverpool supporter and based off of this season i'd much prefer to have Udogie and Porro over White and Zinchenko with a midfield 3 of Rice, Maddison and Bentancur(most balanced 3/best in their respective positions)

I like Turkish but he constantly brought up 12 games argument which was really reductive. The technical quality of a player can be seen in 12 games plus if you're just going by games then why have an argument at all.
To clear this up because im tired of hearing it, Ben white didn't "HATE" soccer, he just doesn't watch a lot of games at home, doesnt play fifa etc, he diesnt live fir the game like some of our heroes did. He comes from a rugby family, he ended up playing & was good, trained hard. He still likes playing, hes just not a super fan. Bae only played for money, he wanted to quite, he had absolutely no love for the game, bit if a difference.
Sorry Flav, at the end of the 2022/23 season Arsenal finished 24 points above Spurs, scored 18 more goals and conceded 20 fewer goals and Arsenal are probably going to finish above Spurs this season. No way should 8 Spurs players be in this team. There should be 5 at most.

@@aayamshrestha Yes I read the title of the video but the squads of 22/23 to 23/24 are not massive wholesale changes for both clubs so it is natural to look at players and how they performed in the 22/23 season. However, going by the title of the video, given that after 19 games, I know the video was filmed in late November, Spurs have conceded 10 more goals than Arsenal. For Flav to think that the back 4 should have 3 Spurs players is laughable. His argument about Strikers and goals scored must apply to defenders and goals conceded.

Spurs have been massively hit by injuries for 2 months. During which time neither VDV nor Maddidon have been available and yet Spurs are only ONE point below Arsenal. Had the injury crisis not occurred then Spurs would NOT be below Arsenal.

Why is it labeled a 23/24 team, but the current season isn't being taken into account. Maddison has been much better than Odegaard and he's been injured for months. Romero and Van De Ven have been better than Gabriel this season. Pedro Porro and Udogie have to be in. Come on. There's a reason Spurs were top when healthy.
Romero is not better than Gabriel. He is a liability to Spurs a lot of the time. In terms of ability, it’s close, but Gabriel is way more reliable

Sorry, Arsenal have conceded 16 goals less than Spurs and have scored 6 more and are 8 points clear at time of writing. There is a reason there are more Arsenal players because Arsenal are a better team than Spurs.
