      @pisces2569 Před 3 lety +96

      Actually he learned to take “never too old to learn a new trick” to a whole new level. Before he faced his dark side, he brushed off the Force Priestess’s teachings as something he already knew and mastered. Once he faced his dark side did he learn of his hubris and how even a master can still learn.

      @Daniel Athens I’m saying he didn’t take anything to a whole new level in this scene because his hubris made him unwilling to fully embrace their teachings. Essentially he believed he was too old and too skilled to learn a new trick. After he faces his dark side, does he learn that he can still learn new things despite his age and mastery and goes on to “taking things to a whole new level” from then on.

      @@lancethedecayedguardian2719 ….I think you have a misunderstanding for marriage as Jedi. I have been seeing people not understand why the Jedi Knights are against marriages and discourage romantic love.
      I’ll be blunt, many of Star Wars fans do not understand the path of the Jedi Knight at all.
      It is not just a laser sword and the Force. It is a commitment with vows that must be upheld.
      Marriage is prohibited and was still prohibited in the Old Republic for very important reasons.
      The vows for marriage and the vows as a Jedi knight contradict each other. In marriage, the vows are said to value each other.
      But the vows as a knight states that one must show commitment not to one person but to the Force.
      That is why marriage is prohibited.
      Jedi are not celibate and can have intercourse, but cannot be bound into marriage.
      In rare cases marriage can be permissible such as Master Mundi’s case where he must marry and have children due to his species being very much endangered.
      However, the marriage vows must be adjusted to ensure that the priority is the Jedi Order and the Force.
      Consider being a Jedi Knight similar to being a Catholic Priest. Catholic priests cannot marry as their duty is to the people they are serving and to God.
      Being a Jedi Knight is not just the Force and a laser sword but it is a commitment and responsibility that is very difficult.
      The missions that Jedi Knights take can be very strenuous and they must be able to control themselves, lest they destroy all they are striving to defend.
      Both Marriage and Priesthood requires immense commitment. You cannot have both and be able to be fair to the responsibilities that both demand. That is selfishness.
      Is it fair for the spouse to be waiting aside as the Jedi Knight they are wed to go off into missions and rarely be able to be with them?
      What of children which require much attention to be properly reared?
      This is why marriage is prohibited in the Jedi Order.
      If you wish to be married, discuss with the Jedi Council if it is possible be married with the vows being adjusted for marriage or leave the path as a Jedi Knight to show proper commitment to the vows of marriage.

      @@lancethedecayedguardian2719 In the case of Anakin Skywalker, he should have left the path as a Jedi Knight.
      He is strong with the Force and as a lightsaber duelist. But he struggles with his emotions and his commitment and vows.
      By marrying Padme, he betrayed the vows he took as a Jedi Knight.
      Some people try to dismiss this but this is a very very dangerous act.
      A Jedi Knight wedded a Senator. This is a very huge conflict of interest and if found out, the political consequences to both the Senate and the Order would be horrific.
      Any bill that Senator Amidala had could be called out for bias to benefit the Jedi.
      Padme and Anakin’s marriage goes against the responsibilities and vows that they both have taken as a Senator and as a Jedi Knight.
      Anakin should have left the path as a Jedi Knight and shown commitment to his marriage.
      One or the other. He cannot have both.
      It is because of the this conflict of interest and the fact that he cannot let go, that Anakin destroyed everything including himself.
      The Jedi Code and their beliefs are not to blame for Anakin’s own shortcomings.

    • @Justin-ui5ti
      @Justin-ui5ti Před rokem +1

      @@lancethedecayedguardian2719 Look at Satine and Obi-Wan. Imagine if they actually did the same thing as Anakin and Padme?
      If they did that, Mandalore would be torn apart. The Jedi and the Mandolorians have been rivals for years and if a Jedi Knight had wedded the Duchess of the Mandalore, it would lead to factions like Death Watch to say that her position is not legitimate.
      It would also tie the Jedi Order to Satine as well.
      So once again, why marriage is a bad idea for Jedi Knights. If you wish to get married, then leave the knights and show proper commitment to your spouse.

The Jedi, on the other hand, have no amenities, no safety measures, and little protection… Relying on the supernatural skills of the pilot and vastly superior speed to outmaneuver their enemies. After the war, the Imperial Navy saw the stunning success of the Jedi starfighters, and decided that small, cheap, and fast fighters would be chosen over the heavier gunships of the clones - Thus the X and Y wings were abandoned, replaced by the near-disposable TIE fighter.
