Show this scene to any who thinks balance in Star Wars means embracing the Dark Side. The Dark Side will always exist, but the point of Star Wars has always been to overcome and defeat it, internally and externally Dark Side. True balance is faintly achieved when you defeat it.
Thank you wise Obi-wan! I have been sick and tired of trying to explain that balance concept to every person trying to Shit on the jedi. The point of the training of the jedi is to confront your inner dark self, and overcome it. Once you can do that, you can better fight the darkness externally. Anakin confronted his inner demons and failed( kept that failure a secret) and all fan boys and girls the blame is Jedi over stupid stuff. Anakin himself because he was never honest with himself plain and simple
The whole point of balance is to accept the Dark Side as a part of you as well as the Light. The issue with the Jedi is that they thought the dark side is a curse that should never be confronted. Luke proved this wrong in Return of the Jedi when he was able to bounce back. Same with Vader. Yoda admits that while he does recognize his dark side, he refuses to accept it. In the case of Anakin, he failed to confront his demons because he was taught to disregard them, which in turn lead to him being consumed by the demons.
@@masterchiefpettyofficerspa3646 Acceptance but not feeding those emotions is defeating it. All Jedi is suppose to confront their inner darkness, inner anger, inner arrogance. No, Sith are Force-wielders trained to control their connection to the Force through rage and hate, while this is the physical manifestation of the Dark Side in Yoda.
its interesting that dark yoda says that yoda "doesnt play with (it) anymore" which implies there was a point, at some time in his life, that he was turned to the dark side.
I don't think he was implying that Yoda was TURNED to the dark side. Merely that young and powerful Yoda just indulged in his power and maybe he was arrogant, angry, emotional, and other "not so Jedi" things. That's why Yoda is so wise now. Because he has seen the dark and decided not to go down that path... Like the meth addict who finally sobers up but has scars and stories for others to learn from.
I wouldn't say _turned_ per say. But he may have been _tempted_ by the Dark Side, having, as they call it "flirted" with it before realising the danger and rejecting it.
I imagine Yoda was once much like Anakin, hence why he feared Anakin so much. Yoda knew his own power was dangerous when he was young, powerful, arrogant & flirted with the Dark Side; the potential for the Chosen One to end up that way was something which could & did lead to ruin.
lordlossize GG dark Yoda is the demon inside him telling him to become evil. But when he said that you do not play with me anymore, he is implying that Yoda is rejecting him and ignoring him.

Yoda is so powerful and wise, I think this really tackles the fact he had a dark side he struggled with and actions he experienced making him into such a profound Jedi. There's more to write but this scene is insanely important to Yoda's character, and to those struggling with mental health as well.

I love this episode so much because it’s the first time we see that yoda isn’t a perfect person and that he has flaws and it is an interesting character study of yoda.
For years I never understood the hype or love for Star Wars. Especially for Yoda. I was always creeped out by him especially and made fun of him to my brother. During 2020/ earlier last year, my brother got me to try watching Star Wars. It was the newer movies. I absolutely loved them. To his and my surprise, I wanted to watch all the movies. So he went over the entire order with me. Weekends were our bonding time with Star Wars. When it came time for me to watch this series, I fell in love. But it was this episode, more particularly this scene, that will remain with me forever. I was going through a really tough time and this was the scene that was like a light in the darkness for me. Given me hope and clarity. I always remember this. Lool, it’s so ironic that the franchise, especially the character I couldn’t stand and made fun of, is the one that ended up being helping me through a pivotal moment in my life. If you’ve never watched Star Wars and contemplate watching it, I say give it a chance. I will always be thankful to my brother. I understand the love and the hype now. I understand how wrong and foolish I was. Star Wars is the shit💅🏾🙌🏾
This right here is one of the best scenes in the entire franchise. This shows exactly the mistake that led the Jedi to destruction, that created and empowered the Sith. The Jedi of this era and for the past many generations since the great schism, have ignored that the dark side is a part of every being. Just because you ignore it, doesn't mean it isn't there and the more you ignore it, the stronger it grows in the shadows. If you don't learn to control it, it will control you. Every Jedi should be made to take a trial similar to this where they must confront their inner dark side, just as Yoda does here and Luke does on Dagobah, before they can be named a Jedi Master. For mastering your own dark side is the ultimate form of mastery over one's self. If a Jedi wishes to bring balance to the galaxy, they must first find balance within themselves. Imagine if the Jedi had allowed Anakin to confront his dark side. Anakin would not have let it control him, his fear wouldn't have controlled him, and Sidious wouldn't have been able to manipulate him so easily.
the darkside isnt stronger than the light side but it just gets you more power quicker yoda is around 1000 years old and is on the same level as darth sidious as a lightside user if yoda was darkside he would crush everyone
So it kind of is stronger - unless you have as much time as Yoda to train in the lightside! Not to mention that the darkside selects its recruits much more careful (well: At least the Banite Rule of Two Sith do!), they also will use harsh training that weeds out weak apprentices (unlike the Jedi, who only weed out at the end and send what they consider failures to the Service Corps!)
There is speculation, even from the Emperor himself, I think, that had Yoda fallen to the Dark Side he might have become the most powerful being in the galaxy, even more powerful than the Emperor.
Vader had hold over Anakin the he decided to marry Padme and keep a secret from everyone. He was so afraid of getting caught that this rule every footstep he took during the clone Wars
I like that this just took the form of a supernatural street fight, no fancy laser swords and whatnot, just an old green dude throwing down with his inner darkness and them beating the crap out of eachother. lol.
What did dark yoda mean by yoda doesn't play with me anymore and if dark yoda is the darkside of yoda does that mean that yoda used to use the darkside
No dark yoda is all the anger and hatred that yoda left behind. What dark yoda meant by yoda not wanting to play with him was yoda was ignoring and fighting against all the hatred and anger inside
I know what Yoda just did. He destroyed the most powerful of all of his inner demons: Hatred. Of course, now that I think about it, that's a quest that I'm on as well, destroy my inner demons. My inner demons are powerful, but my hatred is the most powerful of them all, alongside of my anger But, I swear that I will not rest until I destroy them all. And when I do, I shall cast them out of my soul and mind all together. Plus, with my inner demons gone, I will be free.
+Garath Webb Sorry but you are wrong. He didn't destroy it. The truth is, you can never destroy your hatred, anger or any of your inner demons. Trust me, I know all too well. What he did was accept it. He accepted that it was part of him, instead of ignoring it and pretending it wasn't there like he used too. You cannot cast them out. You must accept that they are apart of you, but that they only have as much control over you as you give them, because the more you fight against them, the stronger they will be, especially hatred and anger. It is through peace that peace is found, and acceptance that take away the power the demons have over you. I wish you luck in your journey friend, it is not an easy one to take, but one I know very well myself. Stay strong.
+RESPECT930 Dude, demons can be destroyed. It is difficult, but it's possible to kill them. However, like all other demons in the universe, even your inner demons are afraid of God, because they know that he's much more powerful than them
+Garath Webb Fear and anger are essential to our everyday lives. You can never rid yourself of them fully. What you must do is prevent yourself from bending your fear towards anger. That is when hatred is born, and with it, suffering.
I am an Aquarius. My inner demons resemble different parts of my personality, and thus they look exactly like me, except they act differently. But, they're slaves of a horrible dragon that I've been fighting for almost 20 years. That dragon, is my dark side, who's always trying to consume me. So far, all I've only been able to subdue the beast and trap him in a dark cave, located deep within the back of my mind. However, if I am to truly be free, I need to kill him. The problem is that as I get older, he grows stronger and becomes more difficult to restrain him
I like to think this scene symbolizes yoda's acceptance of the situation of the jedi order, the jedi have become to consumed by the dark side yet they are too arrogant to accept that truth and therefore give it power. Yoda comes to recognize this and embraces it but strips it of its power, and through this is granted clarity to see the jedi will lose the war and the foresight to know to prepare for the jedi's downfall
Ah yes when star Wars Straight up became Persona 4 for a Bit. "I am a Shadow... the true self." Seriously Dark Yoda is a pretty interesting Take on the Dark side. I appreciate the inclusion of jungian ideas.
Notice how he said yoda not play with me anymore meaning yoda at some point in his time as a jedi practiced with the darkside and doukoo also believed at some point yoda used and trained with it
It means, that when Yoda was young, ha was like all young people - drunk, had fun and had a full blast. But when he became older, he learnt to control his evil side.
Now wouldn't be interesting to see Sidious have to do a similar trial with his light side. Like when he was being trained by Plagueis, he had to come face to face with a physical embodiment of his light side.
Apparently if dark yoda ever got out, he would be powerful enough to destroy the galaxy only Darth Vader (if he had lived his full life with all four of his limbs) could beat him

Bad Yoda is like... gollum... "Fat stupid hobbitzs" LOL.
"Cheatsy Jedises, we hates them...."
This episode was really, really cool. Seeing Yoda learn things rather than teach them is surreal
2:02 but... Yoda have the high ground
lmao
But what about the droid attack on the Wookies?
It’s interesting to know that Yoda did explore the dark side in his past, even if only to understand it, and not to turn to it.
"Part of me, you are not"
Really shows how arrogant even Yoda is and how he thinks he cannot turn to the dark side
I mean, he didnt turn in 900 years, why would it change? It's not arrogance
someone in the background: MIDGET FIGHTT
1:37 when I can finally move again and my sleep paralysis demon is still in the room
“My dark side you are, reject you I do” yooo the chills
Dark yoda is more funnier haha
As a massive fan of "The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" I adored this scene
Stand master: Yoda
Stand name: Ketamine Adiction / 2001 Honda Civic
Discount gollum. But still love the yoda gollum.
I mean both characters serve similar purposes.
This is basically Gollum
the darkside isnt stronger than the light side but it just gets you more power quicker
yoda is around 1000 years old and is on the same level as darth sidious as a lightside user
if yoda was darkside he would crush everyone
So it kind of is stronger - unless you have as much time as Yoda to train in the lightside! Not to mention that the darkside selects its recruits much more careful (well: At least the Banite Rule of Two Sith do!), they also will use harsh training that weeds out weak apprentices (unlike the Jedi, who only weed out at the end and send what they consider failures to the Service Corps!)
Not Anakain nor Luke
@@dreamingflurry2729 Wait...what's the Service Corps?
@@mrpumavol7.044 yes anakin and luke
I like how even though Yoda's eyes are yellow, he is like the furthest thing from a sith haha
There is speculation, even from the Emperor himself, I think, that had Yoda fallen to the Dark Side he might have become the most powerful being in the galaxy, even more powerful than the Emperor.
I never realized how badass this scene is
00:54 ANYMORE
One of my favourite SW moments of all times. George's (together with Dave) vision is so beautiful
This is what Vader and Anakin was doing every moment Vader existed, they were literally having an eternal battle with Vader always coming out on top
Vader had hold over Anakin the he decided to marry Padme and keep a secret from everyone. He was so afraid of getting caught that this rule every footstep he took during the clone Wars
@@justinamey7116 I mean having Palpatine in his ear constantly probably tipped the scales for Anakin
I'm getting Lord Of The Rings vibes from this
What would yoda do if he got the ring 🤔
A video I'm going to save.
I'm actually having negative thoughts right now, and this helped me a lot. Thanks Star Wars.
damn yoda and his dark counterpart were going at it 🤣
0:44 ITS YOU...GOLLUM
Imagine if Palpatine fought against his light side. Light Palpatine vs Palpatine.
Light Palpatine: hey Buddy, what a long time...
Dark Palpatine: *instant zap with force lightning*
Anyone remember the Star Wars book where Dooku gets a glimpse at what Yoda could have been like if he turned to the Dark Side?
I like that this just took the form of a supernatural street fight, no fancy laser swords and whatnot, just an old green dude throwing down with his inner darkness and them beating the crap out of eachother. lol.
What did dark yoda mean by yoda doesn't play with me anymore and if dark yoda is the darkside of yoda does that mean that yoda used to use the darkside
+Aaron Mackellar Could have been tempted at a younger age? idk Yoda's pretty old man.
+AdamBlueification either way it is something to speculate
No dark yoda is all the anger and hatred that yoda left behind. What dark yoda meant by yoda not wanting to play with him was yoda was ignoring and fighting against all the hatred and anger inside
+Jigger Lipio and what makes you fall to the dark side hatred and anger
+Aaron Mackellar fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate and hate leads to the dark side.~ Yoda.
Humans are a mix of light and dark. That's what makes us whole.
Brings back memories it does
Alternative title: Yoda fights his ketamine addiction
Yoda eats after 12:00 pm...
I know what Yoda just did.
He destroyed the most powerful of all of his inner demons: Hatred.
Of course, now that I think about it, that's a quest that I'm on as well, destroy my inner demons.
My inner demons are powerful, but my hatred is the most powerful of them all, alongside of my anger
But, I swear that I will not rest until I destroy them all.
However, like all other demons in the universe, even your inner demons are afraid of God, because they know that he's much more powerful than them
Sidar Erdem I was referring to that shadow version of Yoda
The problem is that as I get older, he grows stronger and becomes more difficult to restrain him
best visualization of integrating your jungian shadow, this is.
One of the best scenes I will devour you
1:39 yoda charged in😳
This was one of the most terrifying things to ever imagine. If this ever happened I feel the jedi order and sith would fall, along with the empire.
This has to be one of my favourite scenes from clone wars
Awesome Star Wars: The Clone Wars Video.
"I am a Shadow... the true self."
Seriously Dark Yoda is a pretty interesting Take on the Dark side. I appreciate the inclusion of jungian ideas.
> The strength of heart required to face
oneself has been made manifest...
We accept the demons inside ourselfs but not give em power
Now wouldn't be interesting to see Sidious have to do a similar trial with his light side. Like when he was being trained by Plagueis, he had to come face to face with a physical embodiment of his light side.
He doesn't have a Light Side. He's always been completely Dark.
@@LWLProductions Then I don't know what to tell you.
Sidious doesnt have light, he is the Devil of Star Wars. Even the Son have some light but Sidious is just straight evil.
“You spend your days in the decadence of war” is a great line.
Mad to know that at any moment while channeling the force though him tiny Yoda can just punch rocks apart with his bare hands
"Yoda hates me, yehehehes. Mmhmm."
Apparently if dark yoda ever got out, he would be powerful enough to destroy the galaxy
only Darth Vader (if he had lived his full life with all four of his limbs) could beat him
This should be the MOST MUCH VIDEO OF HUMANITY 💕💯
Yoda:Recognize you I do'
Translation:Fucked up you are
