@@samisikdar5417 Playing a dangerous game you are. Sacrificing your own life for a cause you believe in is one thing. But to sacrifice the lives of others for a chance at victory is another. Who are you to judge who's lives are worth sacrificing and who's are not? What cause must be met for it to be justified? The value of someone's life, evil or not, is to be judged by their own hand. When someone else starts making that decision for you is when you have to be really careful.
I like to imagine that one day Sidious just forgets to put up his hood and just does his Sith stuff without it on and he's all like "you shall never know who i am" and the Jedi are like *visible confusion*?
I think what's absolutely amazing about these animations is how, specifically for lightsaber users, they're able to portray fighting styles extremely well. Yes, Yoda is so different because of his body, but even between Sheev and Anakin, even to Obi Wan and Maul, it's fantastic.
Yeah, like Dooku their moves are crisp and precise. Little windup, very mindful of reach and position. But Sidious is more feral, Yoda is more guarded.
It’s so badass to see Anakin and Yoda fighting together. Just the two of them, they make a good team. Then again very cool to see Sidious who was unknown at the time in action, and with Dooku as well
Even if its just a mind duel (with lightsabers and the force), isnt it still “real”? I mean, that is Yoda and Sidious in the vision “fighting” right? Even if the actual fight is just in their heads..
The last season of clone wars was getting so good. I was mad that Disney cancelled it but at least we got a conclusion albeit with several story archs still missing
Plot twist: Sidious: "Let him go, let him fall and you will ssstop all that I will deeewwww!" Yoda: "...okay!" (Let's Anakin fall so he can resume his fight) Sidious: "Oh shit, there goes my plans for real now..."
fun fact: yoda could really just let go of anakin there because the jedi code is all about having no affection itself and preventing the sith which means that if yoda has to choose between letting go of anakin and ending the sith once more or the true message of this scene which implies that in order for jedi to win they must evolve which means that anakin must become the new grand master of the new jedi order and yoda's death would be the burial or the end of the old ways of the jedi

@@olezka_dostoevsky Sidious is still around 60 in the Prequels if I'm not mistaken. Dooku was around 80 which is still honestly really impressive for a human
I know it's a vision, but that shoes just how bad ass Yoda is. In that vision he dueled Sidious and very much held his own, while simultaneously taking the bringing force lightning and using the force to lift Anakin to safety. That's incredible focus and concentration. I very much believe Yoda could have done that in a real scenario.
Yoda is not more powerful than sidius its explained that in his thoughts he understood that besides him being the most powerful and respected light being in the force he just didnt have it the sith had adapted had advance they had prepared for centuries for that moment while the jedi still used the same tricks and skills they learned thousands of year before
I like for that one moment, Anakin and Yoda stood as one. That moment gave me goodebumps. It's like Yoda trusted Anakins skill enough to stand as an equal against Darth Sidious
Yoda's powers are truly amazing. Granted, Sidious is extremely powerful too, and Anakin would certainly be the strongest if he matured his power ... but Yoda has a fantastic affinity with the Force. It is as if the Force itself is her friend.
if theres one thing consistent in all star wars, its that palpatine clearly has some sort of respect for yoda, or at least his power. in episode 2, he directly asks him if HE specifically thinks a war is coming. in episode 3, he attempts to retreat from the fight with yoda at first, bc he knew yoda is basically his light side equivalent and didnt want to risk losing everything now, so close to victory. and even after yoda forces the fight, he says darth vader will become "more powerful than either of them", showing he views yoda and himself as roughly equals.
This is a test of Yoda's will. Had he allowed Anakin to die, he would have been lost to the dark side having given in to selfishness, unfit to train Luke in the ways of the force, and Darth Sidious would have won with the death of the Chosen One. Sidious knows this, and tries to tempt Yoda into killing Anakin. However, because Yoda is strong in the light side, he did not succumb to temptation. In the end, the Emperor loses thanks to Yoda.
Kamui God Probably for a brief moment. Yoda was ridiculously old at this time and the dark side takes a considerable toll on your body. It would have probably diminished his life span even quicker.

What I love about this fight so much is the insane speed that Sidious and Yoda duel at and it makes me wonder how epic their duel in Rots would have been if it was at the true pace
Imagine a ROTS remastered with CGI, stunt doubles, and all of the current tech. The mace/sidious and yoda/sidious duels would flow much better and show sidous' true fluency and aggressiveness with a lightsaber. The clone wars does an excellent job portraying sidious. Imagine sidious' force scream and 720 corkscrew while wielding two sabers.
Rewatching season 6 and 7 made me prefer s6. The foreshadowing of ROTS is better than the Ashoka point of view of Order 66. At least in my opinion. The fact that the original ending is just Yoda coming to terms as to what is about to happen is better than actually seeing it playing out is what I think makes the original ending great.
@@bossfire2515 season 6 was criminally underrated. People gave it shut because “it was too short”. But some of the arcs in season 6 are just gorgeous. This arc was just amazing. Explaining how Qui Gon became the first force ghost, and why Yoda went to Dagobah to exile.

+The Ice Viper You can see it in the Son of Dathomir comic. Theres a video on youtube just going through it. It's really cool and a shame that TCW was caught off so early.
Yoda putting down his lightsaber in this battle to save anakin is the most badass and Jedi thing I can think of not to mention he’s being covered in the most powerful force lightning in cannon
What I really like about this is just how both fluid and erratic sidious's movement here is. It really shows both his skill and absolute frenzy in battle. Not to imply that Ian McDiarmid did badly in his fight against Yoda, but he's only human, and rather old besides. You can really see him nearly match Yoda's absolute mastery of form IV, Juyo's wild and hyper-aggressive style really being shown off here.
So this is the part where Master Yoda and Darth Sidious had their very first lightsaber duel in the Clone Wars before the events of Revenge of the Sith. Quite impressive, I must say.
Man, Tim Curry was great as Sidious. I mean you can't beat Ian McDiarmid and Ian Abercrombie but Curry did a damn good job, which is the usual for him. He's an amazing voice actor.
Ciaran McGuinness Yeah, Tim Curry does do an over all better villain voice than Abercrombie but I prefer Abercrombie as Sidious. Well as far as animation goes, McDiarmid is still the best Sidious over all.
*"The dark side of the force, is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be, **_unnatural_** ."* _-Palpatine_ Clearly abilities such as Sith Sorcery is incredibly unnatural and just incredible in general.
Much as The Last Jedi disappointed me, I have to confess that the whole “saving the ones we love” shtick makes a lot of sense in the context of scenes like this one. True heroism requires us to protect what’s important to us before we destroy what we hate.
Interesting how Count Dooku says the truth to Kenobi both in Ep2 and CloneWars (about the sith controlling the senate, etc) but jedies never believe him - and here Palpatine does the same trick: he never lies, yet the reputation of the sith as master manipulators preceeds them, so what he say doesn't reach Yoda's ears.
@@maxisaev568 To be fair, Obi-Wan had little reason to believe Dooku after he saw the Confederacy of Independent Systems' inner council forming and saw that it was a Who's Who of corrupt corporations (including the Trade Federation still let by Nute Gunray), explicitly planning to start a war, and by the time he was in any position to report on it Dooku was already outed as a Sith. And in this case, Sidious never identifies himself as Palpatine, just as the Sith Lord who will do Bad Things when trying to tempt Yoda to start on a path to the Dark Side.
Well, that's why Palphatine encourages Anakin to kill him in ROTS. That second fight could have been seen as a second chance that lead to the same result- so at that point yeah- 'your're fired'
After this scene, Sidious probably told him "Oh, by the way, I will make sure Skywalker does not hesitate again. I suggest you be on your guard." And then he died.

@@thahoule7924 Well what Yoda alludes to here actually describes the Rise of Skywalker better than it does Return of the Jedi. He says that the path to force ghostedom could bring victory "not in the clone wars but through all time". The force ghosts had nothing to with Vader's sacrifice and Emperor's defeat in Return, IN FACT, they adviced Luke to kill Vader. But in the Rise of Skywalker, the Jedi Force Ghosts from the past encourage and empower Rey enough from the beyond so that he could face Sithari God Palpatine alone. So the path Qui-Gon found eventually brought victory (TROS) instead of hindering it (ROTJ).
@@dexterjettster8875 Yoda is shown a vision through the Force of Palpatine's defeat. He essentially sees bits of the Original Trilogy. It is revealed to Yoda that victory will come through Anakin's son, Luke. How exactly, he doesn't know, but the Force promises him the total and utter defeat of the Sith if he's just willing to trust the Force. This was written before the retcon, half-assed, nostalgia marketed, fanon film, Ep 9. The Force does defeat Palpatine. Not through an awesome clash of armies or Luke melting his face off with a Lightsaber, but with humility and the humiliation of Sidious. It is so beyond Sidious and so out of the plans made by the planner of planners that he never sees it coming. His Queen-piece, that he assumed total control over, betrayed him. Anakin did the complete opposite of what any Sith believes in. He sacrificed himself out of the love for his son. Luke threw away power with the toss of his lightsaber. Anakin tossed away his power when he threw his master, Sidious, down the shaft, ending his own life but saving his son. Anakin finally learned how to save someone he loved from dying. Let go. Trust the Force.
@@thahoule7924 I agree that episode 9 isn't cannon because its stupid. But i mean he kind of succeeded in beating the republic. The future became his as short as it was.
Force lightning is a power that drains life force of the target. It's the dark side counterpart to the force healing power of the light side that gives life force instead.
830 years in the Jedi Order will craft you into such, despite his supposedly crippling arthritis. Funny how he actually joined the Jedi Order when he was seventy.
Yoda was 70... which means he was a grown and wise person and already lived another kind of life which showed him that the path of the jedi makes more sense. "too old" means that the kid already grew a bond with its parents which, if taken from the parents for jedi training, can lead the kid to the dark side (see anakin).
BlacK40k I was just quoting Yoda however he began his training as some random shmo who was looking for a job and after he crashed on a planet and meeting a stranded jedi he decided Ehh might as well become a jedi And thus began the legend of grand Master yoda
This is a clear case of the Force being so incredibly explicit as to almost say "I gave you so many signs all across the Clone Wars conflict, this is the last chance to understand what will happen and prevent Order 66, YOU CANNOT BE THIS OBLIVIOUS". Yoda proved it wrong.
the way I see it, it's the force balancing itself. If you look at the Jedi in the republic they were corrupt and one could see order 66 as the force cleaning house
+Nathanael Heil well the problem with that theory is that in episode 2 before the war started they already created the plans for the planet destroying death star. So forget about the Jedi, billions of innocent lives were already in danger. The force wouldn't balance that lol
Everybody keeps saying the Jedi were corrupt...the only thing the Jedi did that could be considered "corrupt" was when Mace Windu wanted to execute Palpatine without a trial, which made absolute fucking sense, because Palpatine would've just influenced the judge with the Force and gotten a very light sentence or no sentence at all. Heck, he probably would have just convinced the entire court that the Jedi had turned to the Dark Side and that they needed to be destroyed. So please, enough with the "the Jedi are corrupt" mantra.

As well as being a badass moment for Palpatine, fighting not only another Jedi but the Chosen One and his own friend.
Sidious respects Yoda's knowledge of the force and his power. What he hates about Yoda are his morals and the fact that he resists the dark side, but Sidious could never deny the power Yoda possesses.
@Rudra Mazumder That would be interesting, but with Yoda being 800 years old and having extreme amounts of knowledge of the force and mastery of lightsaber combat, I doubt he'd want to be Sidious's apprentice if he fell to the darkside. Sidious would probably shit his pants and have to come up with a plan to eliminate a darkside Yoda, which wouldn't be easy.

"At least i wont get endlessly resurrected whenever Di$ney needs a quick buck, like Sidious or Maul"- Dooku as he meets his fate.
4:26 despite hating yoda he still has the respect to call him his title “master” yoda
@Rudra Mazumder it was said that yoda tried to fell the dark side once he didn't use it but dooku said he was way more powerful then palpateen
@Plo Koon thanks Master Plo
Even in the real world generals respect the opposing force. Look at Rommel during WW2, he was the enemy but the Allies always respected his skills in the field
Everyone run! We have a naked palpy on the loose!
Lmao.
XD
imagine just walking around with your kids
and you just see a Supreme Chancellor running around naked
i would die
-Woah Palpatine, you're showing your dong
-View it
2:56 - "Why not let him go? Let him die, and you can stop all that I will do."
Sidious being cryptic, but entirely true, to the future to come.
Sidious saying: And you can stop all that I will do, is a very good line like all the other sayings he's said in the franchise.
