"It's Palpatine, he's my sith lord and master, and we programmed the clones to kill you on command" "Stop speaking in riddles old man! We don't understand you"
@DarnellOB98 Nah, windu and yoda would've been a hell lot more suspicious. In TCW, yoda knows they're being played and that the clone wars were a part of the siths design. Dooku tells obi wan the same thing and the fucker ignores it and probably never told the council thinking they were sith lies.
@Alex l even if he wasn't trustworthy, they knew the sith were back and that they infiltrated the republic, so it was worth looking into at the very least
@Light Revaan why being rude? I don't mind learning more about the lore from people who know better than me, as I am writing/penciling a fan fiction about star wars , no need to drop f bombs bro....
@Light Revaan what sick argument is that? "Not a fan 'cuz u haven't read all of the lore" okay, so if I follow your logic, all the general audience who only saw the movies and clearly haven't seen/read anything else aren't real fans? Who are you again? Anyway, I appreciate your concerns, clearly you're passionate, but you have no say in what I have planned. What I truly meant is that Anakin could use form 7, it would have made him a better and balanced fighter, also would have probably prevented his fall to the dark side, as he would have been able to master it imo. What I'm writing is based on what I've seen, and read, following the movies and what's known to major audience while respecting established lore I have at my disposal. Again, I don't mind learning more about the lore from passionate, but I can't stand ppl telling what I can/can't do.
He was lying tho, Master Sifodyas would have never wanted what Dooku wanted to do with the Clones. Dooku hired the Pykes to kill Sifodyas so he could hijack Clone production and make it so they secretly serve the Sith and not the Jedi or Republic.
ToxicDubZ Kenobi was fighting the (should've been dead) assajj ventress(who he canonically never met) when she was trying to steal Rotta the hutt in the movie.(in a plot that made no sense) and if you listen to the dvd commentary, they ADMIT to him flirting with her and that theres a romance. -_- I fucking hate tcw.
Jonathan Mocke It kinda makes sense really once you realise fencing is all about footplay and thrusting. Your other arm just makes you slower and a bigger target. They also put their body kinda sideways so that they can't be stabbed in the chest.
Well he is a Count. It was also intended as a nod to the actor who played him, Christopher Lee was a master fencer in his youth. Even the curved hilt of Dooku's saber was made at Lee's request because it was easier to grip for a combat style more akin to a Fencer's than a Samurai's.
@@MoldyOog he also uses form 4 (ataru?). But also remember form 3 is supposed to wear out an attacker. he wasnt using 3 for the entire fight. if he had he could block and deflect dooku's blows. also, they didnt expect dooku. normally anakin is much more aggressive. so i suspect some holding back.
"There's a clone army made by a Jedi that we haven't seen in years." "The Jedi who commissioned the clones was playing around with the Dark Side." "Count Dooku collaborated with this Jedi to create the clones." "Turns out there are strange chips in the clones' brains that the manufacturers were very secretive about, which have been tied to the clones killing their Jedi generals." I love this show, but dammit the Jedi were dumb as fuck with the clones.
Yeah lol they deserved what was coming to them. It's impressive they managed to stay relevant for song long considering how dumb they could be sometimes.
Actually, while I would tend to agree, this shows you that the Jedis aren't warriors, or detectives, and aren't meant for war times. Their principles and traditions were overwhelmed while being in a situation of war, their peacekeeper minds weren't sharp enough to find the threat that was beginning to be pretty obvious... I wouldn't say that they were dumb, just at the wrong place, which is why they got "ejected".
Episode 3 Obi-Wan: This time we do it together. Anakin: Why do you say that? We did it together last time. Obi-Wan: Oh yeah I forgot......Just keep your limbs on this time.
@Victor Nag There was also this other time when Palpatine led Anakin into a duel with Dooku, which happened not too long before Episode 3. Obi-Wan wasn't around for it. Yet Anakin was starting to overpower Dooku all by himself until the latter zapped him with lightning.
It is how Dooku makes this fight looks effortless, fighting with one hand behind his back and still fight circles against Obi Wan and Anakin. He was a true Master Duelist, one of the best in the history of the Jedi.
+Cylus Stephen Well, that is how you fence. Your other arm gets in the way, so you generally have it behind your back, or on your chest. To me, it makes the most sense in Star Wars to fight in this manner, because you're using a near-weightless weapon, that requires no effort to penetrate flesh/armor, it should be all about precision, energy efficiency, and footwork.
Sherlock Holmes Thanks for that info...I actually didn't know about the hand behind your back- makes sense, and your point on the fencing best suiting the light weight of the lightsaber......so very true.
Crowned Stag yep, djem so was the ultimate offensive form, brute force and destructive attacks, and soresu the ultimate defensive form, protective blocks and decisive strikes, including skilled counter attacks. Anakin was consideres the best djem so user and obi wan the best soresu user, no wonder their duel was such a stalemate.
I like how Obi tries to be a distraction for Anakin because of his tankiness and his mastery of Soresu. Dooku isn't falling or it, though. He knows Anakin is younger and more aggresive than his master, so he spends most of his energy focusing on using Makashi to force Anakin on the defensive so he won't be overwhelmed by his aggressive Djem So skills. Damn cool scene, in my opinion.
Obi-Wan wasn't a Soresu master yet. And actually if you pay attention to Kenobi he engages with almost pure Ataru. And yeah, that's really cool to see Dooku focus Anakin with a flurry of Makashi strikes to keep him from gaining any momentum. Dooku probably expended a ton of his Force reserves doing so against both of them however. Hence his escape rather than reengaging Anakin alone
1:18 Anakin loses his balance. You can tell Dooku is a far better duelist at this point based on that alone, Force aside. But on another note, can we get some respect for how damn quick Anakin went from a crouched position to a backflip though? Jedi reaction times really are superhuman even in TCW and most people don't see it
@@lilcolgatevert3715 Its a weird considering that in their previous fights Dooku has issues with Anakin. I find it hard to believe he was holding back every time considering he looked tired or pressed during those fights. The last time they fought he almost got his neck broken. Unless this was before their duel on Naboo when Obi Wan faked his death.
Count Dooku is probably my favourite Sith Lord. So elegant and sophisticated. Also, his fencing style is more European, compared to the other lightsaber-wielders, whose fencing style is more Japanese. A nice addition to the story.
+Onev Another fun fact, Christopher Lee was a British commando during WWII. His unit formed the backbone of the tactics and operational functionality of the SAS, which was just being formed.
I love how Dooku controls every aspect of this duel. It is also a testament to his skill that he always fights restrained against Anakin as he's under orders not to kill him. This is impressive because Anakin is NOT holding back at all and trying VERY hard to kill Dooku.
This is true. However, on the occasion Dooku was cutting loose a little. And the results are startling. We see why he was only outclassed by Yoda as a Jedi. He is moving much, much faster than men 1/3 his age and getting behind them, and right into their defenses. He was moving like Yoda or Sidious with super enhanced Force speed and agility. He could have easily killed Obi-Wan with a short thrust but he kneed him in the gut and threw him onto the ground instead.
@@crownprincesebastianjohano7069 yes and you can see how he controlled and maneuvered the duel to the location of his extraction, manipulating them the entire time.
If you watch closely before the dual was interrupted both Obi and Anakin was improvising quickly to the point Dooku woulve had no choice if the duel continued.
@@grandadmiralzaarin4962 Dooku is stated to have been trying on ROTS novel once he realized he was probably going to lose he only KOD Obi Wan cus of Palpatine’s interference he wasn’t even a match for Anakin by this point who nearly killed him in season 4
@@TheGOAT-dr1sq Dooku is trying by the midpoint in the duel in RotS, by which point he does successfully put Kenobi out of the fight and he does realize that Anakin tapping into his emotions-like a Sith- puts him far above Dooku in terms of power, stamina and sheer Force, Dooku uses psychological warfare to undermine Anakin though and regains control of the duel-until Sidious tells Anakin to use what he is feeling not to fight it-that's when Dooku no longer has any chance as Anakin with his Darkside emotions in full swing has been stated by Lucas himself to be comparable to the Emperor and even have the potential to be twice as powerful as Palaptine. The duel on Naboo in season 4, Dooku is still fighting while holding back and when he does cut loose, he hurls Anakin back with Sith Lightning and recovers, Anakin didn't nearly kill him in the duel, he did make Dooku take off the gloves. Scaling wise Dooku's arc in power has been described as peaking in AotC. That's when he's at the most powerful he's ever been and he can briefly contend with Yoda in a lightsaber fight and is his equal in the 'wizard's duel' of Force abilities according to Lucas himself. After this, Dooku-who is already 80 years old in AotC, begins suffering Darkside degradation more after a decade of drawing on the Darkside and in TCW he's using it far more often and it's taking a serious toll on the Count. His wardrobe in RotS is actually cited as a direct reference to his diminishing power, as rather than the striking dark black and rich brown, it's a lighter brown that appears a faded version of his previous clothing attire. That's stated by Lucas, Sir Christopher Lee and in the RotS visual guide. So it's not just that Anakin is getting stronger and more skilled, but Dooku is also getting weaker as TCW progresses, something he even comments on in the novelization, that he's "Tired" and "Not a young man after all" It should be remembered that Dooku was 83 at the time of his final duel, making him nearly two decades older than Palpatine, with 13 years of drawing on the Darkside and 3 years of contending with beings half to a quarter his own age. He's still among the top five Force users in the galaxy at this point, but he's past his prime and only getting weaker with time. I don't think Anakin eclipsed him in power until possibly a couple months before Episode III. He probably was near the Count's level in the duel on Naboo.
I like how there was just no debate about the push, Obi Wan knew Anakin stood a better chance 1-on-1 against Dooku. It's the little things that make Clone Wars great
Nova And the intense, bloodthirsty rivalry between Anakin and Dooku. When Anakin holds Kenobi up, Dooku tries to skewer him and gets encircled in the process - despite the fact that his objective was to stay ahead and eventually escape. He basically wastes all of his breath escaping after that.
It isn't that Anakin is a better duelist, its that his style is mostly aggressive and that counters Dooku's primary styles much better than Obi-Wan's, so this is based on who their fighting. I love that they know each other and their opponents well enough to realize which one would be better for fighting who. If you notice, when either of them fight side by side with other Jedi/Sith they tend to jump between opponents a lot, like when Obi-Wan and Ventress took on Maul and Savage.
Rebels doesn't seem to have the same emotional weight that the clone wars had. It simply doesn't have the tension or build up that TCW had. If you prefer a more light hearted tone, you'll probably like rebels, but personally I prefer the intensity of the clone wars.
The Clone Wars bridged the gap between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. So it was only logical that the tone grow darker, going from the Theatrical film to the Lost Missions, to set the stage for Anakin's transformation into Darth Vader. Rebels, on the other hand, is bridging the gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, meaning it comes out of the darkness, and depicts the growing light and optimism that would come about with Luke's transformation into a Hero and eventually, a Jedi. It also connects the Prequels (Ahsoka, Rex, Hondo) to the Originals (Lando, 3PO and R2). And of course, it is made as a companion to The Force Awakens, which is the darker, more mature version, though it's also fun and adventurous. Ultimately, it's an instance of different tones, different spectrums of the same palette. Besides, episodes like this are good, but then there were episodes like the Colonel and the Droids, Mace Windu and Jar Jar, and the Younglings in the Circus.
ok GUYS from 1:20 to 1:33 pause and play and watch count dooku's movements .... his fighting style is amazingly clean and flexible for a man of his age easy counter to defense stance switch its awesome.
Wow that was amazing, but to be honest he probably expended almost ALL of his Force Reserves on that portion of the fight alone, hence the reason he escapes without engaging Anakin again at the end
What makes it even more awesome is notice how Dooku puts Anakin on the defense while forcing Obi-Wan to go offense, which is the opposite of their lightsaber fighting styles. It's brilliant.
What makes it even more awesome is notice how Dooku puts Anakin on the defense while forcing Obi-Wan to go offense, which is the opposite of their respective styles.
@Lee Everett Djem So is quite effective for defense. Probably the next best after Soresu, in fact. In many ways it’s much better than Soresu because it teaches users to counter and create openings and also teaches extremely powerful offense, which is much more effective in a real fight than simply waiting for your opponent to attack and defending, which can get you overwhelmed if you don’t do anything for too long. Djem So + Shien is like a more complete fighting style whereas Soresu seems like it would have to be studied alongside another form to be an effective combatant, even though it’s great for learning defense.
Start watching at 1:17 and play it at .5x or .25x speed. It really gives you a better appreciation of how good a duelist Dooku is. In full speed some of the duel and lightsaber waving looks like extra and unnecessary so that it looks cool, but when watched more slowly you can see that every movement by Dooku, every move of his lightsaber and his footwork is perfectly executed and just what is necessary to parry and counterattack Obi-wan and Anakin and not spending extra energy and movement doing so (except for a couple spins but I like those lol, it's possible he wanted to keep momentum moving and since spins are so effortless for him it doesn't really matter). It also shows just how much care the animators put into this fight, it's truly amazing. I would've loved to see Dooku duel people in his prime.
Oh wow yr right. This is one of my favourite fights. One small thing I would change is have anakin take a bit more of a beating. Not that dooku should completely own him, but obi wan gets just demolished and it ends up making him look a bit incompetent in comparison. Like anakin is more powerful than Kenobi, and dooku more skilled than them both, but I'd just like to se anakin get thrown around a bit more so it doesnt look as bad for kenobi, like he's a council member. Again they should both be visibly outmatched but I just think they should be more evenly un matched. Watching it slowly it's not as bad as I thought, but still just like one more kick or something. Heh it's a really stupid nitpick. Either way one of my favourite duels with some of my favourite characters
That's it! Start the petition. We need a 5 season live action Dooku show. As a gifted padawan fighting with Yoda. As a knight with a unique defensive style and notable force feats. Season 3 as Qui Gon's master. Season 4 with the three disastorous missions (including the destruction of the True Mandalorians and capturing of Jango) that eroded his faith in the jedi and his growing friendship with Palpatine. His meeting with Plageius (not knowing) and him challenging the council. Season 5 shows him as a Sith Lord going on missions as a politican/assassin. Destroying the deadliest enemies of the Trade Federation, Banking Clan, and Techno Union. In some circumstances, he moves like a ghost quickly demolishing his enemies. Before Dooku becomes a Sith Lord in season 5, he will start hunting him in season 4. He will kill and take down several assassins and mercenaries as hf searches for Sidious. He will start blackmailing people and asking questions. Bounty hunters and assassin droids will try to take him down. But they will all fail and Dooku won't know that Sidious was baiting and testing him the whole time. In others, he is an enforcer leading a powerful armies of battle droids, new SBDs, droidekas, battle droid snipers, new dwarf spoder droids, AATs, new snail tanks, and hailfire droids. One mission will be Dooku attacking Kashyyyk and killing a Wookiee General before the title was passed on to Tarful. This battle includes wookiee turrets from the Reoublic commando game, wookiees with rocket launchers, wookiees with long rifles or bowcasters, and wookiee beserkers with long wrist blades. Season 5 also includes a brief Grievous origin story. He trains Ventress during the end of the show. We could see him spar a knight Windu and battlemaster Cin Drallig earlier in the show (and win of course). The show also will habe detective style missions, intense battles, epic factions like the Echanti (cannon debut should be in the Dooku show), deadly creatures for Dooku to fight, Yoda vs a Tarentatek (it's cannon), corvette fleet battles, and epic duels (knight Dooku vs a fallen jedi and former friend who becomes a pirate leader, Dooku vs Sidious before he turns, Sith Lord Dooku vs Sifo Dyas during a battle after he learns Dyas survived when his ship was shot down and was helping the locals fight off the government, Sith Lord Dooku vs 3 jedi at once, and Dooku vs a powerful Sith pretender and his padawan who rival Sidious beneath the shadows). I'd like to see Dooku assassinate at least two jedi before his scene vs 3 at once. Then I'd like to see him take on a very powerful yet deranged jedi similar to Krell or the jedi starkiller killed in the Force Unleashed after he fought Kota.
Imagine DD and SOD were aired. We could hsve seen him schooling clones, Commamder Cody, nightbrothers, and bounty hunters. And kill a jedi master and beat dark Vos and Ventress at the same time
Dooku understands that Anakin specializes in offensive dueling and Obi-Wan in defensive dueling. That's why he continually pushes Anakin and keeps him on the defensive while Obi-Wan is forced to take the offensive. When Anakin is finally on the offensive, Dooku ends the duel and escapes.
@Andy Delgado well noticed... i guess that kind of formula just seem to demonstrate to me like the most skill? Idk. So many good 1v1 fights in clone wars as well tho
I'm so glad this series gave Dooku a chance to shine. He's among my all time favorite Sith and a venerable bad ass even in old age. This series gave him the much needed chance to show everyone just how damn good he was, and even now I think most people underrate him.
@@lapplandkun9273 No, they didn't. He never has his motivation expanded upon, nor his history with Yoda, Qui Gon or Sidious. Not once in the entire series. TCW just used him as a generic Saturday morning cartoon villain. All that time and development went to Maul instead because he sells more toys
Josh K if it was indeed slavery you know that’d mean slaves were on that ship right? Hypocritical. Besides it don’t matter who it was the misfortune still makes it somewhat tragic.
Honestly i don't think he intended to 😅 just trying to make anakin not used the force to save obi wan but if anakin didn't notice that than yeah unlucky for him 😅
Breaking this fight down is crazy! -Watching Dooku alone shows how much he's actually in control of the duel. Hand behind his back, anticipating all attacks back and forth and even has Anakin in full retreat at the end with a frenzy of thrusts and slashes that would for sure be an instant kill. -Anakin alone takes a support role to Obi-Wan in the initial start of the fight until they get outside, looking for a weakness in Dooku's form trying to expose it. And when Obi-Wan almost falls Anakin goes into pure defence with Dooku going extremely agressive against Anakin to the point were you can see Anakin start to get overwhelmed until Obi-Wan comes back and delivers that slash that pushed Dooku back. -Obi-Wan pushes Dooku back alot initially but once outside Dooku knocks Obi-Wan around so easily, kicks him to the edge, knee to the chest and then drops him, and even while having Anakin in full retreat, he parries Obi-Wan's attacks from behind. The way he's separated from Anakin is like a foretelling of the Duel inside the Invisible hand, separating Obi-Wan from Anakin...
Also Dooku is more dedicated on attacking Anakin in order to force him into defence. Dooku knows that, due to Anakin's Form V brute attacking potential, if the latter went on a flurry of concentrated attacks, the former would not he able to defend efficiently, and lose the fight
Hang on a minute... so they knew Dooku was Tyrannus, and they knew thanks to Jango Fett that Tyrannus ordered the creation of the clone army, so they knew Dooku, the leader of the Separatist alliance, was the reason the Separatists hadn't just won the war right at the start. So why not just go to the Separatist senate, show them the evidence and say "hey, your leader is totally playing both sides for his own selfish goals, we should probably stop playing into his hands and call a truce while we deal with him, seeing as while he's your leader there's no way you can win." Would have finished the war pretty quickly.
During the Clone Wars, the Sith made it so Separatist and Republic leaders couldn’t communicate with each other without breaking the law. There’s a episode where Padmé had to be smuggled to a Separatist home world to speak with an old friend about peacefully ending the war.
@@fridaynightnicktoons6885 Dude I'm pretty sure TCW is canon, since it lines up perfectly with the rest of the films hell Saw Gerrera made it into Rogue One and Hera got promoted to the rank of General and Rex was the old guy in Return of the Jedi.

this is so cool I love it, everything is perfect, the soundtrack, the animations, the moves... even the way they fight is perfect (trust me, im a fencer)
I love this fight scene. It shows how powerful yet elegant Dooku was, fending off two powerful Jedi and a group of blaster wielding opponents . Also he included Saito's Gatotsu in this fight ;) More to the point though, it shows how much raw power Anakin must have had that he was able to overwhelm Dooku, literally the master of economy and redirection, in episode 3. He truly would have been unstoppable had he been able to reach his full potential before being *ahem* relieved of a few extremities.
eirdofkoda Interestingly, the one extremity that Anakin was already relieved of probably saved his ass many times over with Dooku. That cybernetic right hand was exactly what the doctor ordered for Anakin's strength-centered Form V. Imagine being in Dooku's boots during that blade-lock in Episode III: having to test your strength and force powers in what's basically lethal armwrestling against a man of your build, but 60 years younger and with a robot arm of terror, while also being ordered by your Master to make him even more angry and powerful through taunting.
Dooku’s masters said that a curved lightsaber hilt makes it much harder to deflect blaster fire, but he seems to be managing that here just fine - a true testament to his skill 👍😎
Ppl say that “my powers have doubled since we last met, Count.” doesn’t fit with this fight but honestly it fits Anakin’s cocky personality that he has throughout the clone wars
Doku is a contagionist he has every potential angle covered the entire fight ran to his script he had parked the escape shuttle #1 under the platform and escape pod #2 in stand by in case #1 got compromised he lead Anakin and Obi wan there from the prison cell he keept backing up until they reached th platform. Even when he got caught up by the pirates he knew using force against and anakin and obi wan would givr him time to fight one enemy at at time he knows whats coming every step truly a master duels man and tactician.
This scene alone, choreography and music, is more immense than anything in TFA or TLJ. Then we have people like Campea saying that Filoni cannot deliver a Star Wars film?!
It was not Dave Filoni or George Lucas who directed this episode. It was Brian Kalin O'Connell. And this fight scene's music and choreography is better than any Star Wars movies save for the Phantom Menace duel and Revenge of the Sith's duel. So it is not just the new films it is superior to. It outclasses the originals and most of the prequels fight scenes.
This scene is so great. Outlined the flaws in certain fighting forms, showcased Dooku’s power, and put Anakin and Obi-Wan’s incredible chemistry on display all at the same time.
1:20-1:23 Watching it frame by frame there's just so much going on in this sequence it's amazing. First Obi-wan makes it look like he's going for a high strike against Dooku's head so Dooku raises his saber high. But it's a feint and Obi-wan goes for Dooku's leg. Dooku's reaction? Dooku moves his leg just enough to avoid getting cut by Obi-wan while still lowering his blade to cover himself without making contact with Obi-wan's blade. Obi-wan swung a little wide and is in a windup leading his next move to be to try a back-handed swipe at Dooku's head. Dooku sees this body mechanic and instinctively ducks underneath. Honestly, after that Dooku might have been able to kill Obi-wan right there with that opening. But maybe he was worried about Anakin backstabbing him? So what he does is lock Obi-wan's saber hand while simultaneously kneeing him and throwing him to the ground so he can refocus on Anakin. All this in 3 seconds. Whoever came up with this choreography is amazing.
@@indianwarlord6935 maul can solo dooku with his lightsaber skill alone, as it is clearly stated in the new canon that he is a better duelist. He also overpowers him with the force.
Dooku didn't just out skill them with his blade, he was also far faster and more agile than two guys not even half his age. The speed and fluidity of his movements allowed him to fight each Jedi in turn while scoring multiple kicks and throws. It is rather amazing to see such a large man, Dooku is 6-5, move around with the grace and agility of cat. Like Yoda and Sidious, he he makes up for his age by moving as a blur.
The best thing about the CW show is how it gave the opportunity to show how dangerous a master jedi turned sith lord is, because of Christopher Lee's age a lot of this was not possible but in an animated show it allows them to show how powerful of a sith lord Darth Tyranus was.
When I first saw this episode, I remember thinking "If this is shortly before Revenge of the Sith, did Anakin really grow that much more powerful in such a short space of time?", then after seeing the first 10 mins of the Siege of Mandalore arc, it does seem he actually did, cos he just walks up to what appears to be 10,000 droids without even deflecting any shots, just dodges them.
@@captainobvious7165 I am talking about how in clone wars before this duel there is a duel like a few weeks before. And it kind of makes sense for clone wars anakin to be this cocky
@@ibrahimbinimran4320 ....No, there isn't. The last TCW Anakin vs Dooku duel is still several months or so before ROTS, which involved some of the most intense fighting of the war with the Outer Rim Sieges. Its not at all shocking that Anakin could grow that much, considering his potential.
In my opinion this was the best lightsaber fight in clone wars. The music though reused suits it perfectly. The characters are so fluid especially compared to season 1. I may like Sideous vs Maul and Savage but this was so much better.
Once Clone Wars got past the first few seasons with the animation becoming less rigid, they had some of the most beautifully orchestrated duels in Star Wars history! That tracking shot from 1:19 to 1:31 is just gorgeous, the way the camera interacts with spatial planes and sees every character weaving in and out of the main fight. Just stunning work, stunning animation!
Given that this encounter happened before Outer Rim Sieges, which lasted for 5 months, it could make sense that Anakin’s powers have doubled since their last duel with Dooku
This alone furthers the point of how the Rule of Two Sith Lords - starting with Darth Bane - were far stronger than the Sith before Bane. They were able to be on par with the best of the Jedi Order. In this situation, Dooku is outnumbered by a Djem So user and a Soresu user. He's using Makashi to outmaneuver Kenobi and Skywalker. However once Lom Pyke and his Pyke family arrive and start firing blasters at Dooku, Dooku is able to deflect their blaster fire, despite Makasha's general weakness against blaster fire deflection. Dooku is even able to avoid two Force pushes
+Eric Graham I would say more it a reflection of how good Dooku is.He was always one of the best swordsmen in the Jedi Order and is arguably the greatest duelist of his day.
a small detail about this scene thats really cool is when Obi-Wan boosts Anakin on to the ship, he clearly trusts Anakin could take down Dooku which he did not in the first duel they had of course
Not rly at 2:05 Dooku deflects blasters shots from Pykes and one of these shots kill one Pyke which you are looking at 2:14 before Jedi do force push so this Pyke was actually killed by Dooku.
But Jedi still might killed one Pyke cuz at 2:26 u can see dead pyke in diffrent postion. Still it's not the one u mentioned and we dont see the one who was dead before Jedi done force push so it's kinda hard to judge what Jedi done here might be just a mistake from producers.
What is remarkable about this duel is this is the only time in Clone Wars we see Dooku actually fight anywhere near to his potential. His fight with the Nightsisters was one where he was blind and drugged. All his other fights against Anakin he was taking it very easy on him, not trying to hurt him. His fight against Savage and Ventress was one where he is caught off-guard and in a confined space that is very much a bad situation for a 2-on-1 fight. Even though he wasn't trying to kill either Obi-Wan or Anakin (if he wanted to kill them he easily could have choked him or fried them with lightning in the beginning, they had no idea he was there), for the only time we see him finally letting loose a little and it is very much eye-opening. We see why he was second only to Yoda in the Jedi Order. His immense Force connection augments his speed to near Yoda/Palpatine levels and thoroughly outclasses both younger men in speed and technique (we see this some in the old Clone Wars series when he trains Grievous). He is much faster than both, getting in between and behind them at will and scoring kicks and throws with ease. He has Anakin on his backfoot the whole time and Obi-Wan is almost an afterthought to him. If he wanted he could have killed both Jedi. And he showed no sign of tiring. He was in the moment and enjoying himself when the Pykes intervened. And he didn't even use any Force attacks in this fight. This duel puts a big damper on the traditional view that Dooku is overly vulnerable to Form V users, or that he tired easily. When he wanted to Dooku could still be nearly unbeatable. This is why I never took much stock in arguments that Maul could defeat Dooku due to speed or strength. Dooku routinely defeated Anakin who was both stronger and faster than Maul, and in this case even demonstrated that he could be much faster than Anakin. I wish we could see more of full strength Dooku (I think we only see that twice: In AOTC and in this duel, the rest of the time he is sandbagging it) instead of his playing with people most of the time.
Always loved the fact that Dooku wanted Obi Wan as an apprentice. He admits to Sidious in ROTS that since Dooku trained Qui Gon he sees kenobi almost as a grandson
"It's Palpatine, he's my sith lord and master, and we programmed the clones to kill you on command"
"Stop speaking in riddles old man! We don't understand you"

Basically what dooku told obi wan in attack of the clones in a nutshell.
Revolver Ocelot the jedi were blind
Dooku is a genius. Notice how he puts Anakin on the defensive and Obi-Wan on the offensive.
Obi wan is the master of defense while Anakin is the master of offense. Dave Filoni was truly a genius
@Light Revaan Anakin while mainly using Form 5, also uses form 4, and dare I say form 7 too?
@Light Revaan rude as fuck. I sense the dark side in you.
Dooku: *Talks even more about the truth and gives all the reason to believe what he says is true*
Kenobi: “You lie!”
He was lying tho, Master Sifodyas would have never wanted what Dooku wanted to do with the Clones. Dooku hired the Pykes to kill Sifodyas so he could hijack Clone production and make it so they secretly serve the Sith and not the Jedi or Republic.

Cristian Paez No offense but are you dyslexic or trolling?
Cristian Paez A lot of what you said didn't add up to being a response to what I said.
Don't you just love how Dooku literally fights with one hand behind his back?
That's standard in fencing. That way your opponent can't hit you in that arm and doesn't bother your sword either.
+Max Payne fascinating
Jonathan Mocke It kinda makes sense really once you realise fencing is all about footplay and thrusting. Your other arm just makes you slower and a bigger target. They also put their body kinda sideways so that they can't be stabbed in the chest.
I could do this with two, no, three arms behind my back!
Emperor Sithisilith lol battlefront 2 reference
Count Dooku's fighting style is so elegant... like a noble
Well he is a Count. It was also intended as a nod to the actor who played him, Christopher Lee was a master fencer in his youth. Even the curved hilt of Dooku's saber was made at Lee's request because it was easier to grip for a combat style more akin to a Fencer's than a Samurai's.
He was trained by Yoda. It's obvious that he is an expert duelist
He is a noble.
I mean he is a noble. And his real life ctor Christopher Lee was also a British noble and also the ancestor of Charlemagne.

I love this show, but dammit the Jedi were dumb as fuck with the clones.
Yeah lol they deserved what was coming to them. It's impressive they managed to stay relevant for song long considering how dumb they could be sometimes.
the jedi and their retarded philosophies, got the screwed over. Thank god Qui Gon believed in the force and not the jedi, respect to him.
The Jedi felt to their pride and greed.
All Clone Wars fights are better than any of the prequels fights.

Victor Nag
Didn't he rush in first tho in aotc?
Isn't that were it comes from
@Victor Nag There was also this other time when Palpatine led Anakin into a duel with Dooku, which happened not too long before Episode 3. Obi-Wan wasn't around for it. Yet Anakin was starting to overpower Dooku all by himself until the latter zapped him with lightning.
When Anakin gets captured he tries to fight him alone
So that comment still makes sense
It is how Dooku makes this fight looks effortless, fighting with one hand behind his back and still fight circles against Obi Wan and Anakin. He was a true Master Duelist, one of the best in the history of the Jedi.
He should have fought like this in all his fights. He got some swag
Sherlock Holmes
Thanks for that info...I actually didn't know about the hand behind your back- makes sense, and your point on the fencing best suiting the light weight of the lightsaber......so very true.

Anakin's was Djem So and Obi Wan's was Soresu.
Jedi reaction times really are superhuman even in TCW and most people don't see it
Nice analysis of the fighting style
@@lilcolgatevert3715 Its a weird considering that in their previous fights Dooku has issues with Anakin. I find it hard to believe he was holding back every time considering he looked tired or pressed during those fights. The last time they fought he almost got his neck broken. Unless this was before their duel on Naboo when Obi Wan faked his death.
Fiend Matador Slayer of a Thousand Noobs wtf you talking about? This isn’t naruto lll
Count Dooku is probably my favourite Sith Lord. So elegant and sophisticated. Also, his fencing style is more European, compared to the other lightsaber-wielders, whose fencing style is more Japanese. A nice addition to the story.
Here's a fun fact. Christopher Lee (R.I.P) was a fencer in real life and they simply moulded Dooku's fighting style on that.
+Patrick Donnolley i didn't know that Christopher Lee died :( he is one with the force now
+Onev My favorite as well.
+Onev Another fun fact, Christopher Lee was a British commando during WWII. His unit formed the backbone of the tactics and operational functionality of the SAS, which was just being formed.
+Snake4199 He was quite an extraordinary man, indeed. May his memory be preserved for centuries to come.

Dooku is stated to have been trying on ROTS novel once he realized he was probably going to lose he only KOD Obi Wan cus of Palpatine’s interference he wasn’t even a match for Anakin by this point who nearly killed him in season 4
@Victor Nag like the other dude said obi wan is a defensive fighter and Anakin’s form 5 better combated dooku’s form 2
@Victor Nag form 5 makashi which is dookus form counters obi wans form 3 soresu that's why he always loses to dooku quite easily
@Victor Nag sorry idk why I put form 5 as makashi lol
THIS is why I can't understand people who prefer little Star Wars rebels to the clone wars.
+TrueNorth Productions I don't think people prefer rebels to the clone wars but instead see them as equals in quality.
Black Veg I see.
I prefer Rebels because I can appreciate something more than flashy fighting. Make no mistake though, TCW is very good.
It looks so cool, it's probably one of the best fights in Star Wars.
Wow that was amazing, but to be honest he probably expended almost ALL of his Force Reserves on that portion of the fight alone, hence the reason he escapes without engaging Anakin again at the end
It’s amazing. Dooku’s 83 in this fight.
Lightstrick And that savage wrestling action with Obi-Wan, as well. Dooku was really a unique combatant.
What makes it even more awesome is notice how Dooku puts Anakin on the defense while forcing Obi-Wan to go offense, which is the opposite of their lightsaber fighting styles. It's brilliant.
1:20 to 1:32 is my favorite part. Choreography is perfect.

What about when Obi-Wan fell?
disney should take notes
The music makes the scene
I just wonder, is his spin-kick (for lack of a better term) at 1:26 really useful in any way ?

I adore how Count Dooku’s voice is so Elegant and sophisticated.
And his fighting style too.
I mean it makes sense why 😅
And kill a jedi master and beat dark Vos and Ventress at the same time
Thanks. Are you related to Obi-Wan?
"He was a cunning warrior, and he was a good friend"
Shown perfectly in this scene.
Anakin’s form 5 is basically the best counter to form 2 so count dooku used this to his advantage
Can we appreciate how Dooku is always able to defeat multiple enemies despite using a fighting style designed for one on one combat?

HE LITERALLY EVEN PERFECTLY PLACED OBI-WAN WHEN HE THREW HIM- HE’S A FUCKING GENIUS
1:25 I always loved this scene. So smart by Dooku to put Kenobi on the offense and Anakin on the defense!
1:27 me too.
Unfortunately they already had a third, fourth, fifth and sixth movie to live up to :P
During the Clone Wars, the Sith made it so Separatist and Republic leaders couldn’t communicate with each other without breaking the law. There’s a episode where Padmé had to be smuggled to a Separatist home world to speak with an old friend about peacefully ending the war.
You forget tcw isn't Canon. It's only Disney canon,Lucas funded it but he said it was non canon like ewoks n droids.
@@generalgrievous3423 tcw is not canonto Lucas, only Disney canon. It wa sjust anexperiment to Lucas.,also your point makes no sense as rogue one isn't Lucas Canon man. It's Disney
this is so cool I love it, everything is perfect, the soundtrack, the animations, the moves... even the way they fight is perfect (trust me, im a fencer)
At least for Dooku a lot of those spins aren't practical at all
LittleWeirdo the spins are pretty unnecessary, and I think dooku get a bit too close
Graff_Zitel well that's true but because they are Jedis and they are helped by the Force I conceive the unnecessary spins
The fights in Clone Wars, and especially that one, are 555555555555555 times better than the movies.
they spin to gain momentum in their attacks to make it more powerful and it also looks cool and its amplified by the force
Notice how Dooku almost takes off Anakin’s other organic arm when he was trying to pull Obi Wan up
Jeez, that sequence at 1:20 is AMAZING.
I love this fight scene. It shows how powerful yet elegant Dooku was, fending off two powerful Jedi and a group of blaster wielding opponents . Also he included Saito's Gatotsu in this fight ;)
More to the point though, it shows how much raw power Anakin must have had that he was able to overwhelm Dooku, literally the master of economy and redirection, in episode 3.
Vader is more powerful than dooku
1:25 is the best section of the fight, in my humble opinion.
1:28 me too.
Anakin's face at 2:28
+WillFanofMany Well obi's face on that same shot isn't precisely friendly either.
He looks both exhausted and surprised,
1:50
That uprising of hate in Dooku just slightly changing his eye color closer to sith yellow
Fuck me, the animators were god like
Yea it like flicked to yellow for a split second
What is it with jedi and almost falling of things
What is it with Skywalkers losing hands?
+Pvt. Church lmfao
IKR? It's like with Simba's family in The Lion King, they always fall off cliffs XD

Joe Dickinson they have been playing for honor
obi-wan, you accident prone son of a bitch, how many cliffs have you fallen off of? I still love ya though :P
IKR? haha
Reminded me of his confrontation with Grievous.
Doku is a contagionist he has every potential angle covered the entire fight ran to his script
he had parked the escape shuttle #1 under the platform and escape pod #2 in stand by in case #1 got compromised he lead Anakin and Obi wan there from the prison cell he keept backing up until they reached th platform.
Even when he got caught up by the pirates he knew using force against and anakin and obi wan would givr him time to fight one enemy at at time he knows whats coming every step truly a master duels man and tactician.
"Doku" *HM YES, HE'S NOW JAPANESE XDD*
This scene alone, choreography and music, is more immense than anything in TFA or TLJ. Then we have people like Campea saying that Filoni cannot deliver a Star Wars film?!
George Lucas directed this.. not Filoni.. it’s literally written in the end of every episode! Cmon man.
2:45 The ultimate yeet
2:12
Kevin Kiner should always be the alternative for something Star Wars that John Williams doesn't wanna do. He's awesome.
This scene is so great. Outlined the flaws in certain fighting forms, showcased Dooku’s power, and put Anakin and Obi-Wan’s incredible chemistry on display all at the same time.
*Dooku! For once you came to do your own dirty work!*
*Sometimes things are just that important.*
Love this exchange
This time Dooku was looking forward to this
1:18 When my little brother and his friend team up against me in a duel
1:20-1:23
Watching it frame by frame there's just so much going on in this sequence it's amazing.
"Sith Lords are our speciality"
1:18 to 1:31
If Maul and Savage ever faced Dooku, they’d be overwhelmed
Scerri Skills facts
Savage alone bodied Anakin and Obi wan what are you on lol. I think it’d be a lot closer than you think.
@@shreyask2604 all dooku has to do is electrocute Savage
@@indianwarlord6935 maul can solo dooku with his lightsaber skill alone, as it is clearly stated in the new canon that he is a better duelist. He also overpowers him with the force.
@@shreyask2604 dooku is literally one of the best duelists, only worse than sideous and yoda, and on par with mace
Damn Dooku schooled them so hard in this episode...
literally every time a Sith tells the truth and reveals more of the conspiracy, the Jedi reply with “You lie!” verbatim.
You know that Dooku it's the best in fight when he forces Anakin to defend, and in the other hand, forces Obi-Wan to attack
1:18-1:32 is like the greatest 14 seconds in Star Wars
Poor dude, he was basically left to rot in a hole for like 15 years with only bugs as his friends then he gets choked out.
The best thing about the CW show is how it gave the opportunity to show how dangerous a master jedi turned sith lord is, because of Christopher Lee's age a lot of this was not possible but in an animated show it allows them to show how powerful of a sith lord Darth Tyranus was.
“Sometimes things are just that important”. Dooku is pure class.
It is a year before episode 3 .
I just assumed it was banter, like he literally does every time. Its the most Anakin thing to claim that his powers have doubled after two weeks.
@@ibrahimbinimran4320 Except it wasn’t two weeks, it was years.
2:03
Brave of them to fight a man that was able to hold off two of the greatest Jedi knights at the time.
The part at 1:26 is so badass words can’t describe it. Dooku’s fighting style of Makashi is so badass.
And that was the last time we see the phsyical appearance of dooku in the clone wars series
Zach Peterson what about general grievous? Will we still see him in TCW series?
@@ZeeManiaX he was seen in season 7 i believe
Zach Peterson yeah, but unfortunately he only got about a few seconds of screentime
@@ZeeManiaX well he might be in the next episode since obi wan is heading to utapau
0:40 absolutely love that line
His voice is so badass
In my opinion this was the best lightsaber fight in clone wars. The music though reused suits it perfectly. The characters are so fluid especially compared to season 1. I may like Sideous vs Maul and Savage but this was so much better.
I love the parts where dooku just jumps onto other ships once he has completed his mission, he just looks so smug
2:12 I love their little spin, they work so well together. Easily the best Master and Apprentice duo.
"I'll try spinning thats a good trick!"
1:36 I like how that ship in the background is the one they jumped on later.
1:26 I'll try spinning, that's a good trick
1:20-1:32 has to be some of the cleanest looking fight animation/choreography I have had the pleasure of viewing
Damn you can tell that Dooku was pissed about his near loss against Anakin he must've trained like crazy before this fight.
Dooku is even able to avoid two Force pushes
...or it was just a neat light saber battle.
+Aaron Hungwell tru
+Eric Graham I would say more it a reflection of how good Dooku is.He was always one of the best swordsmen in the Jedi Order and is arguably the greatest duelist of his day.
+Eric Graham The rule of two is bullshit
The Opinionator The One Sith is better but I see the Rule of Two as just an answer to a situation.
0:32 Dooku is fucking awesome
1:52 the details man. He's getting angry over that Kenobi refused his offer thus his eyes are turning yellow.
thus how the line "this time we'll take him together" was underminded
Not the last time they fought him. In dark disciple, an adaptation of cancelled Clone wars arcs, Anakin and Obi Wan fight Dooku separately.
2:12 will always be my favorite thing to see
a small detail about this scene thats really cool is when Obi-Wan boosts Anakin on to the ship, he clearly trusts Anakin could take down Dooku which he did not in the first duel they had of course
0:41 When the teacher shows up during a Sub day and delivers a pop quiz.
As you can see, Dooku's superiority is so superior that he makes Obiwan and Anakin use the fighting styles they are uncomfortable with.
“All is Deception” the last words that truly could have saved everyone if revealed
2:15 the Jedi killed one of the Pykes 😂😂😂
Look to the right when they do a force push 😂😂
Not rly at 2:05 Dooku deflects blasters shots from Pykes and one of these shots kill one Pyke which you are looking at 2:14 before Jedi do force push so this Pyke was actually killed by Dooku.
But Jedi still might killed one Pyke cuz at 2:26 u can see dead pyke in diffrent postion. Still it's not the one u mentioned and we dont see the one who was dead before Jedi done force push so it's kinda hard to judge what Jedi done here might be just a mistake from producers.
What can i say except ur welcome
I love how Dooku gets on his ship and stares at Anakin as he is leaving. Next to Sidious, Dooku is my favorite.
The Maul vs Dooku argument got dumped in the trash when Ashoka kinda defeated Maul (and said that if Anakin would be here he would curb stomp him)
Always loved the fact that Dooku wanted Obi Wan as an apprentice. He admits to Sidious in ROTS that since Dooku trained Qui Gon he sees kenobi almost as a grandson
1:25-1:31 is the best 6 seconds of saber combat i have ever seen
You got to love it when Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku go at it. Those fight beat every other lightsaber duel any day of the week, for me anyway.
