A heads-up about the blizzard set. His charged attack shatters, therefore it loses some bonus from the blizzard set
but he only rarely needs to ca just like heizo, so you can just go full STANDING HERE I REALIZED even without bothering to do his ca.

@@awacsrazgriz967no. you need c1 to heal more often and the ca will do more dmg plus extend the duration of his skill
@@awacsrazgriz967 you need to CA to trigger the heal on all constellations. At C0 you only gain the heal stack if you are below 60% HP, but at C1, either below 60% HP or the 5th hit in his NA combo will give you the heal stack, which the next CA not costing stamina and using the stack to heal you.
Wriothesley is everything I have been wanting in Genshin, a brawler style dps character using gauntlets (at least visually gauntlets), and his design is almost exactly what I have been saying I wanted for a long time.
Me too. I love brawler characters with gauntlets and Wriothesley is all that.
Literally same, although I imaged a Geo gauntlet user (like the Geo desert dude), but I'm more than happy with what we got!
For me as a Star Rail player, Wrio being Sampo with Luka's fighting style was the winner for me

You could use Mono Cryo if ur sick of Freeze! Wriothesley Shenhe Kazuha and Rosaria/Layla/Kaeya. A consistently strong, and a lot simpler of a team + doesn't need the enemies to be freeze-able!
Ganyu as a sub dps with ult and it's cryo dmg buff could work too ^^

I was actually pleasantly surprised by his burning-melt teams. While it relies on your Wrio investment to be quite good, give a setup such as Wrio/Nahida/Bennett/(Thoma or Dehya) a go. Managed to hit larger CA numbers (C1) with this setup over Shenhe/Bennett/Kaz C0 setups which was a surprise.
I'd like Heuzou more especially if he was designed as a 5*

Yeah, he's Ganyu's opposite in the Cryo side, all blitz and fun with no snooze. He added something that Tartagles and other characters I own did not have, it's weight. His punchy playstyle feels heavy and smooth because of the crunch that the impact he leaves in his attacks as well as his ultimate, which feels like you pushed something back with a ton of pressure. The only other characters I could name who has the exact the same weight behind an ultimate is Zhongli and Wanderer. I haven't had this much fun roaming around the world trying to pick fights until I got Wriothesley, he is flawed at C0, but I do not regret my decision, it was good times.
Blizard Strayer doesn't work (to its full potential*) against bosses, so it is actually worse
P.S.A Don't ignore Ayato's burst, it has decent damage and gives him a pretty noticeable normal attack damage boost

I’ll always prefer skill/normal attack characters for this very reason. Useable in open world. Where ass burst characters can only really be used in abyss. Trying to use them in overworld isn’t fun with some exceptions like ayaka
Yeah using in overworld the likes of Cyno, Xiao and Raiden felt really bad because of this, burst dependent characters have never been my thing.
Rizzly is feels perfect, amazing in both overworld and abyss, and also very fun.

They just have different fighting styles
Wriothesley c1 is misplaced amongst the community tbh, it just makes it so you can remain hp neutral not just make you hp positive permanently.
It is the most impactful c1 in the game. It lets you use a shielder without losing his skill buff, and lets you use a healer without losing his passive. It also doubles his passive uptime, makes his passive easier to activate, increase the damage of the passive, and lets you use his skill longer.
His C1 lets you use his passive, without his C1 then you either lose his passive or lose his skill buff. Or if you run a unit that allows you to use both then you're not using his best support, Bennett
Bennett only prevents you getting his ascension one if you play perfectly, if you get hit by anything where the damage you might gain from it matters you have it now, the uptime increase is redundant because you’re going to swap off anyway cause supports, and then c1 becomes exactly what a constellation should be, a damage buff.
@@mattavarius5119 You can still sneak in Rebukes with Bennett from time to time. His A1 state remains permanently even when healed, so long as your hp dips below 60% once.
Hutao c1 is worse in my opinion c0 gameplay is garbage for me and in sure many agree

Going oraoraoraora on everything is the best so far, doing 100k uppercuts melts is a dream come true
I put barbara in my team, which i never use before. And its been a smooth ride with c0 melt team
i love him and his play style, and he finally gives me a reason to go for shenhe so this is definitely a character i want to go for.

I'd rather put Raiden in a national team where there is better synergy. Wrio doesn't need her for ER, sub dps, or even superconduct
Instead of healer, you can put Nahida instead and do hyperfridge. But then you gotta build Raiden full em if you want full damage. If you still need a healer but don't wanna ruin your normal build Raiden, use Kuki instead
That doesnt make much sense, What is Raiden providing tho? Rizzly doesnt benefit from triggering superconduct, and also doesnt benefit from Raiden burst recharge buff cause rizzly's ult is not his Main source of damage, also, Raiden on her ult demands on field time, and Rizzly too. They don't really Match, unless you don't care about being optimal and just want to have fun

when you have neuvillette setting the standard, it’s understandable that the community’s response to someone like wriothesley is the way it is. though he is a great character and i honestly can safely recommend him to people without feeling like i’m lying to them lmao
I’ve always wanted a boxer character so I’m so happy we have Wrio in the game! Plus him being cryo makes him versatile in a lotta teams!
Watching this since I lost the 50/50 while waiting for his rerun. I have everything to level him. Just need my boy to come home 😩 at least there’s plenty on vids out to watch while I wait haha
I've been waiting for a cryo DPS that isn't Ayaka for my Shenhe account and she is very happy now. Paired with Mika and a hydro support of the day (I've tried Yelan, Barbara, Xingqui and Mona, love them all) and you're in for a fun time. The HP drain isn't as bad as I thought it would be as his charge attack once he drops under 50% is adequate to keep him alive.
He’s just cool and apparently managed to not only give Mika a new team but also can utilize thoma’s normal style instead of burgeon
Would love to get him now… but I hve C1 R1 sig weapon Neuvillette and I need to save for Furina. Have Wanderer weapon that I can use for Wriothesley. So hopefully will be able to pull on his rerun 😊
Everything about wrio is perfect. His auto attack animation,scaling,charged attack 🤌🤤 but most importantly he's a cryo user. I love shadow boxing while also cross the ocean with him lol
I felt targeted with the mention of C6 Shenhe LMAO. She’s my utmost favourite character so she’s my only C6 Five Star. And I loved playing her with Ayaka. But after seeing Wriosthley and buffing other peoples ones in co-op. I was like man, I need this dude
I've been using Heizou for a while, one of my favorite and strongest characters, and when I saw that Wallace was the first cryo-catalyst, punchy punch dude I was so absolutely excited,
The day finally arrived, I played his character test over and over and over and realized that I much, MUCH prefer playing Heizou.
So, yeah, dude's cool as hell, but unfortunately I'm gonna pass.
we need more different combat sports focused characters! Wriothesley is super fun, so glad to have him. i have neuvi weapon on him and his charged atk hits like a truck
i really enjoy burn melt wrizzly, my c2 baizhu finally getting some work in to keep up with burns+hp drain but it really is satisfying when you get a big melt and its great to play a dendro team thats not bloom

I'm running chongyun, wriothesley, jean and dehya, I guess is not optimal (not like genshin was difficult enough to require that) but it works
Got him teamed up with water sword guy ( instuctor set), kuki (thundering fury) and collie (mixed set). Game changer. Not to great open wold so i swap mona and kit for mobilty

I love using his ult. I do have c3r1 tho. Feels and sounds satisfying to me, tho I do understand your point. Personally I'd have made it more of an explosive sound like All-Might's Smash punches
I've played with him in burn melt with Nahida, Thoma, Bennet. I still get one to two rebukes a rotation and the damage is fine. You don't need his c1 to trigger his a1 and you can still easily clear abyss with him c0 with ok investment.

Unfortunately he’s probably going to be a skip for now. Don’t have shenhe and although I don’t have any freeze units besides rosaria, I am planning out future units and I guess he’ll be on the waitlist.
My favorite part of the video was watching you punch your way across the rivers.
In hindsight, Heizou is a character between Sucrose and Wriothesley. But Wriothesley's toolkit and official marketing strategy are closer to Yoimiya. The only consolation is that he can rely on the constellations to make him strong enough to solo the spiral abyss.
Lol, I wonder if you can put ocean hued clam on him, I can see him heal a lot more with but I don't know much about the set.
I use him on a melt team with Bennett, Kazuha and Thoma but I'll just switch to Xiangling in Abyss. Looks like he'll also be a good team for Sunfire jean with Yunjin (Archaic Petra?)/Shenhe.
The overworld king‼️
I pulled for Wriothesley and I did get him... but now I'm sad. Not for the reason you might be thinking of but because I got him at 81 pity on main and then open my alt account and do a single 10 pull well would you look at that I got Wriothesley.
I'm gonna go for his C1 on his rerun banner if I don't get a early one from the current one, like I did with Hu Taos C1.
Zajef suggested a pretty unique team for Wriothesley: Bain-Marie
1. Wriothesley
2. Nahida
3. Xingqiu if C1, Hydro healer if C2
4. Dehya/Thoma
When Furina's out maybe you could fit her into the 3rd slot
Numbers wise he's good (although i'm personally not a fan of how they made him an obvious c1 bait), but imo he's missing that "oomph" heizou has, his attacks don't feel like they have a lot of "weight" to them, which for normal catalyst would be ok, but for a "melee" catalyst? Naah. The lack of juicy swirls probably contributes a lot to that. Hope there would be another 5* hand to hand character that is also anemo (for swirls), or maybe pyro from natlan (for overload explosions) who will get more "heavy"-feeling attacks, something like gilgamesh/balrog from DMC, with impactful punches, ground pounds and stuff.
It feels great for me because it feels like fast jabs, meanwhile Heizou has more martial arts and mr one punch man.
Me : Heizou is what I wanted Wriothesley to be, his AA ars so smooth, I ended up keeping Heizou and skip Wriothesley
My Shenhe is still waiting for the chosen one (Charlotte?).

i managed to get him within 50 pulls and he's so fun so far!!! unfortunately id like to run a wrio shenhe yelan kazuha team but i only have his c0 so id rather wait for a new anemo healer than use jean tbh

I'm tempted to get him just so I can punch my way from Inazuma to Liyue, but the Archons always take priority.

Wanna know something interesting? I also like him a lot but he's stuck at lvl 60 cause I didn't farm the subdetection units. I'm using him in overworld and I never ever had more fun than this with a character in the overworld. The fact you need more than a couple seconds or more than one rotation to clear enemy camps, bosses and everything lets me enjoy his own full kit and animations, the enemies' moveset and patterns, the fantastic combat music from Fontaine and... Of course he's not burst dependent so that's a plus for overworld
Also, him being low level lets me appreciate lvl.90 supports damage more. Like, for instance, I never noticed before that a full em Kuki actually does 21k overloads to pyro infused enemies
I don't know if I really want to level 90 him right now or wait a little bit more on purpose 😂
should I use both xq and yelan? or should I use only one and add another cryo and anemo to other slots?

As a qiqi main. She is fully well in capable to be a self sustain dps. Even with normal attacks. She is better suited for it than being a full suport even. (Especially with her being able to easily max out the ocean hued clam bubles). And if your doing domains or bosses in multiplayer no one has to pick their lousy back up healer cause your good to go for everyone :D. (Ps. Please do some basic dodging at least) I cannot take this qiqi slandor. So i comment my point. But Thats just one lil point in the whole video.
Anywho, I've also been enjoying wriothesly! If me being a qiqi main didn't already tell ya, i enjoy the spam normal attack hit go brrr XD i pre farmed marachusse hunter and really i just need to build somone who can apply pyro for a melt team.

wanted to go a little against the grain here, i think Wriothesley design is amazing, but i feel like i have a little trouble with the cryo effects from his punches, they look nice but my brain just doesn't like watching those bright punches flash in and out really quickly especially as a night player. personal opinion tho
I'm skipping him, his personality is decent, but i just don't like his c0 kit and i don't want to have to pull c1 just to use his base kit. With a shield you lose his skill buff and with a healer you lose his passive. No character in the game actually locks a base kit mechanic behind a con

Every region, with the sole exception of Inazuma, has had a gimmick im which the majority of the characters participate in that makes their archon a high value team option. Ie, Sumeru was all about EM and Kusanali gives tons of it. Its also arguable that dendro was a sub gimmick and again, Kusanali supplies tons of it. According to leaks, this will follow suit.
If you dont want to read the leaks, you can stop here. Just know that Furina WILL chanhe your mind about your dislike of Wrios health drain
Essentially, Furina is an all encompassing support. She supplies off field hydro application, she can heal, but most importantly, her ult gives a massive damage buff dependent on the health fluctuations of your characters over its duration to genarate stacks. So, it turns this negative that all Fontaine DPS have so far, plus Hu Tao, into a huge plus
I'm curious how getting the stacks will differ between Fontaine characters and non Fontaine hopefully the only difference is that a non Fontaine team will need a healer with Furina. But, Hu Tao doesn't sound like she will work with Furina because Furina supposely will only accept hp when a character is above 50% and Hu Tao wants to be below 50%.
@Livtha there's been a lot of testing with Hu Tao, her best team may very well involve her, Furina, Bennett, and Yelan. C6 Bennett buff already surpasses the benefits of being under 50% on C0R1 Hu Tao, mix that with Furina buff and Yelan Elegy and you have an extremely powerful team.
You will still likely see the biggest gains running Furina with Fontaine DPS', but don't sleep on Furina x Hu Tao. If you hate circle impact, Hu Tao double hydro is likely to still be very competitive, we'll just have to see once she actually comes out
@@ptolemaios1590 Oh that's cool I really like Furina and even though I don't have Hu Tao I would like her to useable with a lot of characters. I do hate circle impact so much that I skipped Kokomi to get Furina for my Ayaka and I could only use Bennett in my Wanderer team because he has lots of range.
it's weird how i'm the complete opposite about this guy. I also love everything about him EXCEPT the sfx of his AA when they come in contact with an enemy.
Was hoping for mechanical sounds woth "oumph" similar to Vi from League/ Arcane and instead they turned out to be icy and sharp, less like punches and more like spells.
It made me not want to pull him anymore.

Imo I just don't like that his kit is literally Wanderer but cryo go bonk bonk + icebridge king instead of flying king. I wish his burst/cons a bit more interesting than almost literally the exact same + idk he's very incomplete at c0, kinda scummy

Furina also difficult to get full stacks at C0, her C1 and C2 fix that. I see the pattern of what Hoyo is doing
The EM for freeze increases shatter damage from his uppercut. But nobody gives af about shatter 😂

From my testing, it's pretty difficult to get Wrios ult to do a ton of damage, unfortunately. I have C6 R5 signature weapon, and the highest I've gotten his ult to do is about 55k per tick, (about 275k damage) but I would've expected a little more, since Ayakas can do literally millions.
Most of his damage comes from the normal/charge attacks.
Well that’s… um… the point? All of ayakas damage comes from her ult. Her normals are pretty trash and only useable in overworld. Although they are better with shenhe of course. But she’s pretty much an ult bot. Wrio is not. That’s the point. His burst is there to supplement his kit, not be the main focus
I wonder how much damage you can get with a combo of shehe, amber(for melts) and maybe Mona or kazuha or Klee c2 or some combination of that. Maybe that would allow every hit to melt? Not sure as I don’t have shenhe or Klee or C2 wrio lmao
Because his ult is an extra damage source while most of it comes from his normals, he's not Ayaka because Ayaka's burst is a good chunk of her personal damage.
I'm saying this in the nicest way, but please read his kit again or watch guide video. His burst is not his main source of damage. That's like asking "why tf my c6 Yoimiya's burst is so mid😩"

if no c1 wriothesley, just have jean(c2)/mika/yunjin(c6) on the team and it is still sorta the same effect of having c1.
sick of using the same old boring support? then use thoma and dehya to melt, add in collei or yaoyao to trigger dendro on the enemy for a burn melt and it works fine.
heck have barbara as well to freeze the enemy and heal wriothesley if you feel weak.
he has tons of supports yet they all got shafted by "meta" supports every single time and it is disgusting.
Ayato's burst buffs him or anyone in it. Speed or just normal attack dmg I can't remember but it's idea to use Ayato's burst. Just saying

I got him in the first ten pull, not even 40tj wish, and 50/50. Extremly Lucky :)
As someone who pulled cyno before, i wouldnt let the meta dissuade your choices. Albeit older cryo units like ganyu or ayaka are more efficient in their numbers, if you like wrio pull him, its not like there is an unsalvageable character in this game. He will be hard to build but eventually as with any character, he will provide.
Wrio is “fine” not super strong or weak. But that’s all he is

I'm glad you enjoy him, I don't. Played him on my gf account and cleared abyss a few times and im already bored of him.

@imdesperate when did I ever say otherwise, my comments where both in reference with my experience with him. Again I'm glad you like him and I see why many others like him, just not for me.

"It's just one constellation" is a dangerous statement, you could say only whales went for C6 that's why Hoyo tried giving major power spikes on C2 in most of the limited 5* since Raisen Shogun, if they're actively locking gameplay mechanics on a constellation for more quality of life, the next characters won't be worth at C0 and that's when the game will surely die, just look at Tower of Fantasy, major power creep and most of it locked behind Ascends/Constellations equivalent.
There is no world where blizzard is comparable to marechaussee for Wriothesley lol

Hunter honestly is better because Blizzard ONLY gives crit rate and cryo damage bonus while hunter gives specificly normal and charge attack bonus AND practically the same anount of crit rate with an imo easier condition to manage that is also more flexible.
At C0 he can't hit 1 million damage 😔

Because he’s comparing their playstyle, not damage… he’s literally just saying “yeah Heizou doesn’t punch much and he’s not a NA character, meanwhile Wriothesley is and I like that”
tbh i think heizou is alot better gameplay wise
any youtuber that calls the Hunter set "Merrah chos" is instantly unqualified to teach anyone about anything of this game.
