Parking up in Earl Sterndale, I headed the short journey past the now closed Quiet Woman pub and over to Parkhouse Hill, no sooner are you up the short, steep climb than you are down the other side. Then immediately after comes the more drawn out climb up to the top of Chrome Hill. It is the other side where you drop off which i known as the Dragons Back due to it's aptly named shape.
After the drop off Chrome Hill and the short steep burst just beyond it, it's a nice gentle stroll around to and through Hollinsclough and then it's off in the direction of High Wheeldon, the biggest climb of the day to end with before the short journey back to the starting location in Earl Sterndale.
Roughly an 8 mile walk through some stunning scenery, without doubt one I will return to again.

And lastly, I'm in no way paid for my videos, I make them purely for my own memories and hopefully to inspire family, friends and you guys to get out and enjoy our beautiful countryside. I'm no pro but I do enjoy the challenge of putting videos together. Critique is welcomed, criticism is not. If you enjoy my content, why not buy me a drink via www.buymeacoffee.com/PipesHikes :)

Lovely to see this. We did it in 2023 but the other way round. We ascended High Wheeldon the same side as yourself but descended on the Western side , which turned out to be ridiculously steep and required semi sliding down a section near the base as my 6 feet 2 inch height produces too high a centre of gravity to do otherwise. It was pretty hard on the knees! Great walk though, and fantastic views. I love the contrast between the landscapes of the White Peak and the Dark Peak. I wonder if Wolfscote Hill is accessible now? I thought the views from that were particularly beautiful and wouldn’t mind a revisit - Wolfscote Dale is one of my favourite dales!

I did this walk in 2019 (same way round as this time) and I climbed up the western side that time so trust me, I know just how steep it is 🤣It about broke me... hence me going around it this time haha. But yes I agree, the views are awesome.
Not sure on Wolfscote Hill I'm afraid, I think I read it was still shut until a path is sorted but not 100% on that. I don't think I've ever actually been to that trig. I have been through Wolfscote Dale but not for a good few years so I too am probably due a revisit.

Somehow missed you posting this, Anthony. Good little walk! Hope the arthritis clears up and you feel better and your plans come to fruition this summer.
I'm hoping to do the Cumbria Way next summer (going north to south) so fingers crossed I'll get it booked soon.
    Take care.

Thanks Dan. I’ve had to put the Cumbria away on hold as too busy with work and have plenty of other plans. Arthritis still lingering but seems to have eased a little for now 🤞🏼
