  • The morning after the night before... I set off early to grab some much needed food and heading for the infamous Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill in the Peak District, more commonly known as the Dragons Back.
    Chrome Hill is a limestone reef knoll in Derbyshire, England, in the upper Dove valley beside the border with Staffordshire, within the civil parish of Hartington Middle Quarter. It is adjacent to Parkhouse Hill, another reef knoll. The walk over Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill is known as the Dragon's Back ridge.
    It's an awesome walk if you haven't done it already and well worth the visit.
    These were the hills bagged on this walk;
    ⛰️ Parkhouse Hill (375 m)
    ⛰️ Chrome Hill (443 m)
    ⛰️ High Edge (462 m)
    ⛰️ Hollins Hill (450 m)
    Hope you enjoy the video, keep your eyes posted for the Dales Way coming soon!

      Aww thank you. Starting the Cumbria Way today, day later than planned. Depending on how it goes I don’t know if I’ll be there this weekend I’ll have to play it by ear and see how many miles I can get done today. Probably take me 4 days but I’ll try for 3, that way I will be able to make it. Fingers crossed

    Enjoyed the video Kris. My wife and I have driven around that area, but never been up them hills. Mind you, fear of heights, getting dizzy usually on such walks, I'll leave them walks to you lol

      Haha yeah that makes sense. Although, Chrome Hill is alright and I’m sure you’ll be fine with that. That’s the main hill anyway and not really that exposed. Parkhouse Hill is the steeper one. It’s well worth checking out it’s a lovely area around there. Thank you

    I'm a big fan of Chrome Hill. How was it for a wild camp location Kris? The last time I walked it, virtually the whole hill was ankle deep in sheep shit and it put me off! Good on you for going through the 'Dragon's Eye'....it has to be done. ATB pal.

      Cheers Chris. Oh don’t get me wrong…it’s full of it up there haha. But there’s a spot that I point out when I pitched mine and was fine. Not the straightest pitch but doable. It was windy the night I pitched there too and was in my Lanshan 2 Pro which I had at the time. Anytime after next week I’m good for a camp anywhere if you fancy one as think you said you’re available Fridays. Off doing the Cumbria Way solo on Tuesday
