#ParanormalActivity - Zábava
I love that the people who found the footage added audio to the jump scares that was epic
Kinda ruins the found footage illusion.
Do you ever plan on reviewing "What Happened, Brittney Murphey"? It was also produced by Jason Blum.
😂😂
this is one of the reasons why i didnt like it. the jumpscare with the little boy in the window wouldn't even be half as scary if they didnt have the loud edited BANG in it
Nice flag at 4:04
"Why do people do stupid things?!?"
So the movie can happen.
"It just feels like maybe they would not do some of these things."
"Listen, I'm gonna need you to get alllll the way off my back about this."
I love how people just understood the pitch meeting reference.
It was super easy, barely an inconvenience.
Or what we call an idiotplot.
@@shubhiaggarwal429 pitch meeting references are tight!
My favorite part is when the paranormal activity begins to happen
“Hey that’s the name of the movie”
“You have literally 15 seasons of Supernatural!”
Literally me during any horror movie anymore. 🤣
Also, per Supernatural Asmodeus (and Lucifer, for that matter) definitely pronounces his name Ahs-mow-day-us - so clearly these non-Amish are also dealing with a demon who is really a pretender to the throne.
@@allih8021 I'm glad to hear that tiny me reading Redwall was correct.
Amanda for the reboot of Supernatural.
Agreed Toppicy-Woppicy
ay didn’t expect you here
But which character shall she play? I vote for ALL OF THEM.
@@sunnyandthechlo only Amanda, with a cameo from Nick Cage, who only plays the women who burn on the ceiling
Amanda for Mary Winchester!!
I would just like to point out that Asmodeus represents lust, not chaotically possessing people or destroying Norweigan villages.
They did him so dirty, my dude is just here to have a good time 😭😭😭
Lmfao
Damn so it should’ve just been like one big gang bang? Would’ve been an interesting parody film
asmodeus more like ass-modeus, am I right 😃

Y'all remember that scene in Tall Girl where the protagonist gets shown a video of her friend and the other guy fighting but it keeps being different shots showing they forgot it was supposed to be filmed by one person in a phone.
Yeah that's how it feels here sometimes. It ain't good.
omg I can't stop laughing. There are footprints in blood on the ceiling and they tried to explain it as unusual menstruation. Who doesn't know about the periods where you walk on the ceiling in your own blood?!?🤣
I think these are the kinds of experts in female anatomy that develop abortion legislation in the US…
Ceiling periods are the worst!

Gonna tell my boyfriend I’m on my ceiling period.
I'm just gonna leave this here since my state does have quite the Amish population, we do see them in Walmart quite a lot. I don't know about the Tiktok part, but at the very least, I have seen many Amish families go in and out of Walmart when I go. Hope this clears up any confusion
Same, we see Amish people even at Costco. They use technology if they have to. We have this one Amish run shop that is open in the Summer and it has electronics and tech so that people can use cards.
I assume knowing about TikTok would come from a person coming back from Rumspringa and telling the others about it.
I live in central PA. We see Amish and Mennonites everywhere. Horses and buggies on the roads too lol.
I live in Ohio and I see Amish people in Walmart and Costco all the time
They're on tiktok. I've seen them on my fyp.
thanks to Helluva Boss the first thought that comes to mind when she mentioned asmodeus was "Gimme a thrust, show me some lust."
The fact that they chose Asmodeus, the demonic spirit of LUST, for the primary villain of the paranormal activity series is hilarious.
Imagine a horror movie where an alien eats and splatters a sorority house and then the police come by and attribute the crime scene to a particularly severe menstrual cycle.
"Is that Voldemort?!"
That gave me flashbacks of a video project back in elementary school (it was just after the first Harry Potter movie came out). I played Voldemort in it, but the zero budget meant it was just me at a bad angle with night vision on.
Lmaooo that’s amazing
The shot of Margot about to jump out the window where she says "This'll be interesting" and then cuts to he next day drove me crazy! Oh, will it be interesting? I guess I'll just have to take your word for it!!
I immediately said, oh so before they all die they edited the film and then left it… got it 😂
🤣 fr I was like did we just jump to the next day? For what!!?
That “excuse me what the fuck!?” was hilarious.
I need a Harry Potter fanfiction set when Harry is like 90 years old and the second wizarding war is officially classified as "history" and not really something people think about anymore, and Voldemort comes back to life and he shows up in like Hogsmeade or something and one of the kids just goes "is that Voldemort"? In exactly your tone and then just goes on with their day like nothing happened.
I would like to fund the cinematic version of this story please! : D
"A cult, KIDS, and a ghost?!" Yup, every single one of those just as terrifying as the other.
Movie: *shows the name "Asmodeus" in the footage*
Me, a cultured person: You mean the king of demons from Jewish legends/ prince of the Lust Ring from Helluva Boss?

*quietly pushes up glasses* Or the lord of the nine hells in Dungeons and Dragons?
The secondary antagonist of Puppet History?
After the first one, I remember my friend put up a camera in his room. He thought his house was haunted and he wanted proof
Did he get it
He says so
@@syrisa Tell him to save it. Maybe he can sell it to a studio and have it made into Paranormal Activity 17.
@@AmandaTheJedi Asking the real questions…
It would be nice if the creepy village in a horror movie were not actually the bad guys, but just a red herring.
That actually was an X-Files episode in season 1. There’s a series of freaky paranormal murders and Mulder thinks it’s linked to a reclusive puritan village nearby (they don’t say it’s the Amish but we all know who they’re basing it on) and the twist is that the village itself is an alien colony but they actually were not involved in the murders. One of their exiles just went rogue and decided to start killing people.
Besides the quality issue, my main problem with the movie is that Margot didn't have a daughter. How would they continue to pass along the possession after Margot's body gets old and die?
Yeah I talk about that a bit - it was really just a temporary solution
I should have finished the video before commenting because Amanda says the same thing at the end.
I thought that what happened to Margot the night before was that she was r4p3d by the ghost/demon/whatever. They say there was an unusual amount of blood for menstruation and that would explain how the possession would continue
@@bernardoflores1819 but the demon doesn't want to possess anyone, it wants to be free. It would make more sense that the blood was the result of a sloppy demonic hysterectomy
The demon got it self free so i guess it's a moot point
In regards to the “how does the Amish know about tiktok?” question, I know a girl who goes to my school (not Amish) who dated an Amish kid and she had a tiktok where she talked about it with her Amish friends. So at least where I live they know about it. Also I know this isn’t Walmart, but the piggly wiggly in my town has a place for the Amish to park their buggies.
Amish kids all over would know about it, if Rumspringa caused Amish to come back with that knowledge
Piggly wiggly sounds like a store I'd absolutely insist on visiting if I ever go to the US just to make a picture of the name. 😁
The Amish kids also work in their stores so they interact with regular people. The Amish in my area have generators for emergencies and have utilities county requirement they just don't use it outside their stores
@@paisleesheppard5629 I'm from Canada but I lived in the south for 5 years and I was delighted by Piggly wiggly!! They have merch too you can get a mug or a t shirt and a hat I think. I lost my coffee mug though rip :( oh!!! And they have delightful store-brand versions of things like breakfast cereals and boxed mac and cheese
Also depends on if they are actually Mennonite and not Amish? Similar living style but one integrates with modern society and the other doesn’t. So very easy to confuse with one another if you don’t know better.
A demon can get out of a pit it's been trapped in and instantly figure out how to drive!?
Probably rides on the mind of the host - if the host can drive, so can the demon.
Yeah but that ending was actually kinda cool so I’ll allow it
You know, a great twist on the found footage genre would incorporate those "who is filming this???" moments by having the ending twist be that a secret creepy antagonist filming the characters too, and having the impossible shots become more obvious as the movie continues.
It's obvious who was doing the filming, the ghost! Seriously, it would be hilarious if they made a super serious found footage horror movie where the ghost finds the camera and starts recording and that's how we got so many shots.
Reverse Paranormal Activity where the ghost is possessing cameras in an attempt to get the completely oblivious people in the house to notice the haunting with a video record of things being thrown across the room. 😂
Yeah you don't need to stay an extra night just because your car doesn't work.
You can just walk out
RIGHTT
As someone scared of scary movies but interested nonetheless, I love that you talk about those.
100% me. Amanda's reaction clips sound exactly like me "watching" a horror movie but she, you know, actually watches it. (I used quotation marks because when I watch horror movies I do it from behind my hands/blanket/pillow/other available object so as not to get the super scary images stuck in my head) I enjoy horror movies....from a distance, I guess?? LOL.
Hey Amanda! I worked on the film in casting! The script was a PA script from the beginning and 90% of the demon was not CGI! Thanks for some of the awesome shoutouts to our local talent in Buffalo Ny!
2 thirds of the movie where great, this concept in the hands of the director that did midssomar would be mindblowing, but this movie goes to hell in the last third
See Ari Aster wouldn't do this because he already did Midsommar but I totally get what you mean. And agreed! It goes to shit when the thing can actually run at them
@@AmandaTheJedi the post office Man saying "those are not amish was a great scene, simple, but of course the post Man knows the people, AND they they End it with "Mom?" To then actívate trap hole (Yugioh reference)
So, this movie was filmed about half an hour from where I live. The film crew actually stayed at the hotel up the street from me for a bit. If it helps explain all the Amish/English interaction, they live in the same area as us here. It's quite a rural county and I live in the largest town, and would walk to the closest Amish house in about 20 minutes from my house in the middle of downtown. Amish people use our stores, go to the same doctors, and are friends with many of the people in our communities. There are even a few people in our town that the Amish hire regularly to drive them around and use their phones to do business. This would easily make them know about tik tok. They are not however allowed to use any of this unless they are on Rumspringa. Also, as for the bear hunting in shitty dark weather, it starts snowing here in October and doesn't stop until like the end of April, and by November it's dark around 430, so that dull kinda dusk looking scene was probably not actually very late lol
The fact they have a church building would be a pretty dead giveaway that they aren't Amish.
I just googled this. I actually think that’s really cool
When I saw the trailer for this I was like “wait didn’t those stop?”
Honestly, I would love to see Amanda do a Let's Play of Until Dawn and Outlast, would be so much fun!
I believe she did Until Dawn but I might be wrong!!
Yes!!!
Edit: just looked it up, she did do that :D Gonna be off to those videos now.
Can’t wait for Final Destination 6, the only scary thing about those movies always was that they might make another one after all.
I've been subbed to you since 30K and now seeing that you're almost to half a million?! Holy shit, Amanda, that's amazing!
I'm guessing most people with half a million subs proooooobably started out at lower numbers. Lol
@@theywalkinguptoyouand4060 It's an _indicator of time_ while remarking on how much her channel has exploded, ffs. 🤦♀️
Asmodeus is Magnus' dad in shadow hunters btw - i could only think of that 😅
I felt it was very Blair Witch meets Midsommar without the sunlight
Also it annoyed me in the end where there's a shot where NO ONE could have been realistically holding the camera yet they still acknowledge it. It made absolutely no since like, who was filming??? The demon???
My theory about the “ghost” in Sarah’s old room is that Sarah was containing the demon within her but over time the demon was starting to take control over her and push her spirit out of her body like she basically died or is dying so the demon can have full control and they need to transfer the demon into the daughter so they can start anew with holding back the demon in a healthier living body. So Sarah’s spirit, now without a body, was in the house I think trying to warn/scare Margot off into leaving so that she wouldn’t have to face the whole demon drama. Also their story is that Sarah was made pregnant by an outsider so she was shunned. We know they are liars so I think maybe Sarah was forced by someone else in the community into having a daughter while she was locked in the attic. I think it’s been a chain of them forcing the specific bloodline into having daughters and lie and say it was from an outsider as a reason for her being locked away in the attic when really it was because she was the demon vessel and had to be locked up. I think Sarah was trying to break the chain by escaping with her daughter but they found Sarah and Margot and brought them both back. They may have had plans to get Margot pregnant after transferring the demon into her and moving her into the attic where she would essentially become their prisoner. That’s why John calls Sarah “selfish” and “rebellious”. She wasn’t giving in to being a sacrifice for the “greater good” like the women before her might have been okay with it or took it on as a duty
Sounds about right, but I'd about the whole getting her pregnant afterthefact cause who the hell would they force to impregnate a demon in a ring of salt? No doubt Asmodeus would try to kill the child or the impregnate considering they don't want to be contained. Its also clear that Sarah's mother was more than likely the vessel before Sarah considering they don't mention her. After she had Sarah (and a future vessel as a result), they probably made her the vessel
I just have to know what you thought of the "Fear Street" trilogy? Have you seen it?
All of them are amazing movies.
Other than excessive sexual content, I liked the trilogy.
I loooved them, and I would love to hear what Amanda thought about them
I really enjoyed them, just some good fun. Made a great afternoon binge
I didn't want some of the characters to die, I like some of them too much lol
petition to make Amanda watch all 15 season of supernatural and review them?
Okay I know movie has to movie but I feel like any sane person would run after seeing the inside of that church and you know NOT GO INTO THE PIT
As a big Supernatural fan, Sam would deal with the demon while Dean flirted with Margot lol
After the short mention of Supernatural, I would love to see a breakdown of your favorite episode(s) now upon rewatch
i feel like this was definitely a good concept/script that got warped into a paranormal activity 'sequel' - like there's so many decent ideas here. the shot down into the pit. the being sitting on the bed. the actual decent human being boyfriend figure
To me the way she says "do you have tik tok" sounds like the tone to ask someone "do you have tea"
The movie chosing Asmodeus as the demon made me cackle so much, cause the first time I'd heard of him was in a demon dating sim. 😂😭😂😭
If they had abandoned the whole found footage idea, then this would sound like a really interesting concept. As it is, it sounds like a mix between The Last Exorcism and Midsommar. Which....meh.
I remember seeing a trailer for this before eternals. I remember when I was terrified of a trailer for ghost dimension before terminator geneses when I was 11. It was kind of nostalgic. I was surprised they were still making these
yeah I heard they were playing trailers for it in the states that's wild to me
@@AmandaTheJedi can concur I saw the trailer in theaters and was kind of surprised when you said it was only on stream
Ha! I saw part of Scary Movie at 8 because my Mom and her friends forgot that I and their kids were still up. Scary Movie is a parody, but we saw the part where the cheerleader breaks her own leg and her head is cut off. The adults realized that we were still there and sent us to bed. _BEFORE_ the comedy part where Discount Jason Voorhees dumps the girl's head in the lost & found bin because she keeps chattering. 🤦♀️
That could've saved my circadian rhythm. 8 - 11 year old me was fully prepared to be the first victim so home invaders would then leave because my screams would alert my parents and the neighbors.
I was a selfless 8 year old 😅🤦♀️
I'm 26 years old today and now take sleeping meds. 8 - 11 year-old me staying awake to guard my Mom from the inevitable monster that'd come kill us all, permanently skewed my circadian rhythm.
So these guys really forgot about the DRONE they had and just went for the "spelunking into a hole" option, huh?
yeah amish shop at walmart, they ride trains and airplanes. for every amish countertop bread starter (in a ziplock no less) you get 3 amish recipes with marshmallow fluff and jarred mayonnaise. seems to me at the end of the day its just down to performative othering and control of their wamens and younguns (property.) in other words, religion.
You know things are bad when an Amish woman is fully willing to abandon her infant child. There's a tragic murder in the Amish community that the entire community tried to do something about where a dude with severe mental health issues snapped and brutally killed his wife and I believe the community had actually taken his own children from him so that they were not at risk either in case he killed again. So if that mom couldn't even be certain that her own child was safe within that environment, just maybe don't go back.
Yeah, you would think Margo would Google things about it since she ya know? Had the tape and said herself that she looked to be being chased
I live right on the edge of Amish Country in Pennsylvania. I can't tell you how many times I've seen Amish folks in Walmart or Target, or any other general goods store. Amish teenagers flock to Sheetz and talk about Instagram or Tiktok. My daughter is friends with a few Amish children who know what the internet is.
I'm sure plenty of Amish people conform strictly to the whole no technology, live off the land stuff. But there are plenty that don't stick to it so much. It's not as weird as some people like to pretend it is.
I lived in MD for a few years in a small town. The Amish totally shopped at Walmart. Some even had cell phones.
Damn man, I knew I recognized the guy who plays Chris in this but just realized he's the kid that Kim and Jimmy scam into taking a plea deal in season 5 of Better Call Saul. Wow, that's a random-ass connection.
I don't know if the Amish also do this, but we have a Mennonite community where I live. I'll see them driving vans, shopping in Walmart, going to get fast food, and they do know about phone stuff like tiktok but don't have phones themselves. I think the mennonite community is less strict than the Amish but still similar enough they can be confused for each other.
I was wondering about that. It looks like the gap between the way some Amish live, especially when visiting or doing business in the outside world, and the way Mennonites live is becoming smaller from an outsider's perspective.
"Even if you started thinking about it too much some things start seeming dumb"
Like how they used the symbol of the Triple Moon Goddess in the trailer. As a Wiccan I get the whole "witch" troupe & using pentagrams & shit for "evil" visuals. But I honestly got a bit offended by it. Considering the Triple Moon Goddess is not in any way shape or form evil. And judging by Amanda's review here (haven't seen the movie) there was no pentagrams or "witchy" symbols other then there being a "white witch" I'm just confused on why they would use that particular symbol in the trailer when it's got nothing to do with the movie.
tbf better than showing 80% of the movie in teh trailer
So much this
Reminds me of how CAOS had the "Pagans" be evil and the satanic witches be good lmfao
@@NeloBladeOfRanni To be fair they made angels evil too 🤣 They did shift though by worshiping Hecate, which I approved of lol
In all horror movies there are so many wrong things concerning pagan stuff. Heck, in all kinds of movies and series they tend to get pagan stuff wrong as hell. See: tarot cards. They always use the Death card as something ominous, and I always sit here and go: "You know that's a positive card, right? More like a rebirth kind of card..." If they want an ominous card, why not use the Tower card? But noooo. Annoys me every time. So doesn't surprise me that they use deities of some kind wrong. Another example: Hades.

I was like 15 when the first Paranormal Activity came out. That and the original Blaire Witch Project started my absolute love of found film horror movies. I'm really very sad that the PA franchise had taken a swan dive down the toilet.
My reaction for this movie is just:
"THEY STILL MAKE YOU????? "
Honestly the few scenes you put in this seem fun to watch , dialogue and vibe wise ,so while its not flawless, im down to watch this
The term for taking an unrelated movie and attaching a dead IP to it should be called "Cloverfielding"
I keep getting ads for this movie and it looked sooooo bad omg. Let this series rest already please
this is the 3rd time since October there was a focus on Asmodeus in something I watched regularly. pretty sus if you ask me
What if Asmodeous is her father? Like, we don't know what happened with her mother and her preparation for sacrifice
This looks like Midsummer knockoff except the characters are even more dumb and less isolated, making it even weirder that they stay so long.
You know I'm starting to realize a lot of the protags of horror films are actually the villians because they always let lose this super dangerous demon because they're too busy trying to save themselves.
Now *there's* an idea for a horror movie.
But the demon would’ve gotten out anyway because the vessel was dying. That’s why they lured Margot in.
"Thank you, Supernatural, for teaching me the real life lessons!"
The Winchester way! Salt, holy water, burn that shit!
I love your channel! Side note though, I like that the hint about not being Amish included going to Walmart. I live in Ohio aka the state with almost as many Amish as PA. And I don't live in the Amishy part but my dad's family does. And like my aunt takes vans full of Amish people on trips to Walmart
This movie wasn't that bad but im feeling like since next of kin is a standalone film its better if they want to continue the franchise but as an anthology because they it will be better? Just my opinion though after watching the film
this is making me want to rewatch the first paranormal activity 👀. even though all the scares are just cheesy bs, it still manages to scare me somehow lol. also i've had ghost's "year zero" stuck in my head since the first mention of asmodeus 🤘

Ok look, I need you to look into The Owl House. It’s an incredible cartoon on Disney+ that I promise you’ll love. It’s recently been cancelled and when you watch it you’ll understand why daddy Disney decided it didn’t ‘fit’. It’s a travesty. I’m livid and I want justice. Mostly I just hope if we make enough noise they’ll uncancel it.
I know the Amish shopping at WalMart was supposed to be a clue that they aren't really Amish, but there is an Amish community by my dad's house in Michigan and they really do shop at Walmart.
I love the detail you go into with the plot holes and what they could’ve/should’ve done better. You paint the picture really well 🎨
I really want to know what the height limit on the effects of a salt circle is. Like, if a demon is riding on a plane and passes over a salt circle, do they get yeeted out of the plane?
LMAOO
I definitely think the 'ghost' was the demon trying to scare her away or hurt her so that they wouldn't have a vessel to transfer it into.
I also think the goat mutant baby and the old woman and the kid acting weird/creepy were signs that the demon was getting stronger as its vessel/Sarah got weaker.
That emblem on her chair looks like an elf’s ear whenever she moves her head.
My new response to anyone asking why something happened is going to be "just demon shit."
I wonder what you'll think of Antlers? My Twin bro, sister and I saw it last night and holy SHIT was it dark! We all love the "fierce momma bird" (my sister's beautiful wording) vibes we got from Keri Russell too
Maybe it's like Evil Dead where the demon has multiple lesser demons that do it's bidding or is made out of multiple smaller demons. If the movie wants me to think that Asmodeus can only possess one host at a time, then he seems a lot less powerful than the Kandarian Demon... Ash Williams will make short work of him.

Well said, Jedi.
I feel bad for the writers of this movie. The movie was kind of creepy, well done, but it wasn't a PA movie, clearly, and they stuck that shit title on it and now no one will see it.
It honestly might be the bets of the series, ironically.
It had REC vibes, and I even woulda accepted it was:

How was that movie well done? It was clearly a cash grab and milking a franchise that died at the fourth one.
@@francislachapelle123 No one got pulled by an invisible person. The scares weren't vapid bangs and doors moving slightly. The story was fairly well thought out and had a decent pace.
