Louisiana's Biloxi Marsh is an excellent fishing destination that, when approached correctly, can yield epic days of fishing.
But that doesn't always equate to easy catching and, despite the rainstorm, I was able to catch a limit of speckled trout (25) and redfish (5).
This video reveals the tips, tricks and techniques you want to put together an awesome box of fish and, just as important, create memories that last a lifetime.

Hello Capt , i truly appreciate ur ( cpr - catch , photo , release ) approach to fishin for gamefish,,,, only way for to teach responsible conservation is to : ‘show the people how to
Thank you, and I agree.

You Are 100% Correct My Friend, Great Video, Very Informative With Beautiful Fish!!! Definitely Got The Itch, Just Need Work to Let Me Off to Scratch, Thanks👍😉
I hear you! Thanks for watching, Randy!
Great video showing the value of covering ground (water) to get to the productive fishing spots and catching them under windy weather conditions. What an awesome insight: Anise oil! ( Note to self: re-check LAFB-Elite for that note). Most memorable fishing quotes: "It's a redfish. Oh, NOOOOO!" LOL. One question: Do you always use light-line and a spinning reel for your drop-shot rigs or was that because of those conditions on that day? Please keep them coming.
Thank you and thank you! Yes, I always use light line when dropshotting, as I really only use it for speckled trout.
If I were to change it up and target, say...big reds in deep passes....I'd upgrade the power of the reel, rod and line.
Tight lines!
There is no limit on releasing fish in Mississippi! But good video anyway! 😊
"Fish are already wet" Captn' Devin
Ha ha ha ha ha ha easier said than done. The rain got REALLY bad, like we couldn't even film. It was worth it, though.

How do you clean your reels when your done for that trip all reels are different i just bought my 6 diawa im a shamino man i have all of them
What is the specs on the popping cork rod? 7’ med fast as well?
Hey what is that rod length power/action you use for top water?
I’m using daiwa tatula sv tw now. Cause of your vids.
Waterloo rods
Gonna get a 150 for reds. The sv tw doesn’t hold a lot of line.
Joe, you can use an SV for redfish in the same way you can use a Corvette as a family car.
It will work, just not very well and there are better choices.
The 150 is a much better choice, so good job on that.
Each rod/reel/whatever is just a tool in the toolbox, so I am glad you recognize that and hope anyone else reading this does, too.
With that said, I did write this review on the SV and its recommended uses: www.lafishblog.com/daiwa-tatula-sv-review/
@@LAFishBlog can the 150 cast light weights like the sv? I still use 1/8oz heads for reds in my area. Mostly shallow water here.
I think you should make at least 20 or so more videos especially if you enjoy making them, that's my take.
I agree 100%!!
What do you use for wet weather gear?
Good question. I wear Eddie Bauer Ascent pants and jacket. Otherwise I have some old Gortex from the Marines I wear.
@@LAFishBlog I'll check them out. All my gortex in the Marines always sucked 😂😂😂
The tatula 100 is saltwater ready??
Hey Dillon, I guess it really depends on how you define "saltwater ready" and what's "saltwater".
The salinity where I fished in this video is not above 10ppt, with average seawater being 35ppt.
My Tatula 100s (and every other Daiwa reel I own) work fine, not because they have corrosion resistant ball bearings or whatever in them, but because I take care of them after every trip.
Thanks for commenting.
Louisiana Fishing Blog oh okay I understand now. Love your vids tho keep it up!!
NEED NEW UPDATES FOR SUMMER 2024 !!! THANKS CAP;T DEVIN ..
Yes Sir Capt , u see tons over tons of vids & still photos of meat hauls - this irresponsible behavior will hurt our gamefish numberz & coup even render critical losses to where our resource cannot recover ,,, pls ! letz take home fish for the day ,, Not for the Freezer,,, thnx mike s ( Love Our Outdoorz )
I think your criticism is unwarranted, but I'm willing to hear you out as to how it is I am meat-hauling all the state's fish out of the water. Have you not seen the videos of all the fish I've released?
@@LAFishBlog No Jon ,,, U & ur partner make a fine example for da young anglers as far as etiquette & conservation ,,,, da ‘meat hauls i talk about r from Texas Guides from the 70’s right thru into the 2015’s ,, ( As u know even now Sportsman’s Paradise takes a full share of trout & reds along w marsh bass ) ,,, Sporting Anglers as yourself help pave the ‘ Way to Enlightened Conservation ‘ ,,, Thnx Jon ✨
