I got an early start launching from Rigolets Marina to take advantage of the morning bite and overcast weather.
But, as usual, Mother Nature was there to throw curveballs and I had to adapt in order to make the fishing trip a great one.
And that's exactly what I did as I proceeded to catch limit of speckled trout on topwater lures, to include the Evergreen Shower Blow 125 and Heddon Spook One Knocker.

You may have missed it, but earlier I said I'm giving CZcams a break to focus on more critical aspects of LAFB, like the courses inside LAFB Elite.
They need revamping and now I am going over them, taking notes and figuring out what needs adding, re-recording, etc.
It's a lot of work as there are over 1,500 lessons inside LAFB Elite.
Making these CZcams videos is a lot of work and they really don't get the views they could.
While I am appreciative of each and every one of you who's taken time to watch my videos, I must focus on the thing that's the actual lifeblood of LAFB.

I haven’t had a chance to go saltwater fishing since I moved back home (22 years ago) and haven’t had a chance to get a boat to go and the lack of fishing buddies I had in Metairie , la.

I don't believe the Shower Blow can be had at Academy. I think Puglia's carries them, I know Tackle Warehouse does, if you're comfortable ordering online.

Well, this channel is called "Louisiana" Fishing Blog.
And Louisiana has way more marsh and fish than Texas. It's not even close. But does that keep you from going fishing? Probably not.
Not that we'd know, because you have zero video or pictures to show for all the fish you catch.
That and the idea behind 20 inches is the concept of Release Over 20. Which, since you fish all the time, you would know about and probably have a bunch of citations.

Capt. Devin, do you ever fish southwest LA? Vermillion Bay and such?
I have, but not often.
For me to fish those places I'd have to drive past a lot of fish, so it really doesn't make sense.
I know those areas are "tougher" but at the end of the day I'd be applying the same strategy as I do over here and I know it will work, so why bother?

A friend made that a long time ago for when we used to fish tournaments. Google "slant board for measuring fish" and you ought to get a lot of product options.
