Heck of a video Capt. Devin !! Glad to see you back on here !! My favorite inshore fishing info video person p.e.r.i.o.d. !!!!😁😁👍👍✌️😉😁🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲AS ALWAYS THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE SIR !!!👍👍✌️😉🇺🇲😁
Devin, holy crap man, the effort you've put into making this video is far beyond what you've done in the past. The angles, the drone footage, you've really outdone yourself and unfortunately for you, raised expectations 😉. Thanks for giving it your all. Love it.
Step change in the video! Awesome! Drone and multiple cameras/angles from the boat as well as cutting in the couple clips are nice adds. And the laugh at 19:30 - lol. Glad you ended with a hammer!
Glad to see you are back on the water!
Ditto others' praises. Love the drone shots. Story: took some green out-of-towners to Biloxi Marsh. Set up for specks about 7am. I demonstrated casting their first rigs and turned around to hand them poles, and there they were at the stern with a sandwich in one hand and soda in the other!
Great vid! That particular stretch of rocks has saved me on many many days.
Nice catch at you he dam beautiful trout nice job tks for service may the good Lord Jesus Christ bless you, happy Easter
The footage is amazing, it truly depicts what it looks like out there with the changing light conditions.
Who flies yrs drone while you are driving the boat?
Been waiting to see this one for a while! Great video
Great video as always! I was super excited when I saw you post another. Hoping to get a new boat this year to try out all that I’ve learned from you
And he's back!!! So glad to see you capt.
Thanks for posting again, really enjoyed it.
Great to have you back on the water and on CZcams. Thanks for posting
Glad to see you back!
Here it is‼️ Glad to see ya back
Glad you're back! Thx for sharing!
Glad you’re back! Really enjoyed this longer video and improved camera angles. The quality and effort really shines through. Keep them coming.
Showing the sparkle beetle some love! Nice! Haha Awesome video Devin, wellllllll worth the wait
Awesome!! Welcome back to the tube!
Good to have you back!
Seriously though you have the best fishing videos on CZcams. I tell everyone to sub.
Good to see you, thank you.
Glad to see you back sir
Heading to Delacroix tomorrow so this good timing. Thanks
Great video, I like the fact that you go fishing. It is not staged like a lot of videos that have a guide taking another guide or video personality fishing.
Great video, love all of the improvements with the drone shots and production quality. I especially liked the part where you spent a few minutes talking about running in the marsh during low water periods. I was taught MANY years ago to look for crab trap floats or exposed traps to navigate shallow water marsh. The last time I REALLY stuck myself was in Hopedale along the dyke canal, I came off plane in a spot that looked good (and I had fished several years before) and whoomp! I'm in the mud and oyster shells. I looked around, and I could see crab traps sticking halfway out of the water within a few hundred feet of me. I wasn't as observant as I should have been, apparently the last 2 hurricanes had caused some silting in. Took me 3 hours to get loose, but the Suzuki came through. The over heat alarm would go off, and it would go into shutdown mode, then I'd let it cool for 10 minutes and hammer down again.
A lesson was re-learned that day to stay on your toes, don't get complacent. Best part is that I had my daughter and grand daughter with me. They thought it was kind of an adventure, LOL. I did take the boat to Duvic's and had them service the engine and clean out the cooling system.
Another great video, thanks for what you do. I have learned so much from your courses and videos
Glad your back brother!
Hello Capt. Devin,
Love the drone use. Your explanation of how and why of fishing methods sets you apart from other videos. So good to see you back in fishing video action.
Glad to see you back with new content. I spied one of our jigs, unfortunately it was when you said "this ain't working" ha ha! Seriously, I really enjoy watching because you crack me up :) Thanks for the Release Over 20 too
It was just a tough day of fishing, but a good day of filming, so I'll take it. I am ready to get on a better trout bite, though.
You guys do make great jigheads. I think there's something to the concept of fish aiming for the eye.
Been missing you posting ;-( am glad its spring ,,
I wish I could edit like this. He is back and better than ever!! Another great episode my good friend!
Yay he’s back🎉🥳
Great video. Thanks
Love the SeaTow commercial break…😂
Love the drone footage
My mans stepping up his production 😲
Nice trout Devin. Just to let you know they are catching beautiful shrimp, 15 to 18 inch specs in the Bieavenue. Waters been dirty last several days from wind but when water clears hope to see you there. I know fish have tails.
Great video Devin! Nice trout at the end
@@LAFishBlog for real though, video quality and content is top notch bud
Don't forget to duck Devin! Love your persistence.
I used to make fun of guys saltwater fishing outta bass trackers but after watching you I see how nice they actually are for inshore fishing.
Anyway good to see you fishing again looking forward to the next one.
Yeah, there's some kind of mental block people have when it comes to bass boats used for inshore fishing, as if saltwater models don't exist or something.
Look, I can afford any boat I want. It's not that I can't afford a bay boat (they're not priced any more or less than bass boats, anyway), and it's not that I'm stuck with the Tracker.
I HAVE owned and fished out of bay boats. I know the difference. I've guided out of one, fished tournaments/rodeos in the, etc.
When it comes to fishing one or two experienced anglers out of a boat, especially on a trolling motor and with casting tackle, the bass boat is superior in every way.
It's not even close.
LAFB is not my hobby. It's not something I do on the side. It is my full time job and I MUST catch fish. I am going to use the best value tackle and equipment I can, and that Tracker fits the bill quite well.
So people can say whatever they like, because they're not paying the bills doing what they love. They can hate all day long. I make a living putting fish in the boat, they don't.
Anyway, thanks for watching. :)
Marsh man Masson uses a bass boat as well so I think you guys are definitely on to something.
I don’t think he fishes as much open water as you do though.
Anyone looking for the rest of the video seen at 20:48 can find it here: czcams.com/video/HbpyMMqu4hE/video.html
It's on days like those it helps to have a fast bass boat.
A lil slow for you but I know you will find the fish🎣
I am the sandwich guy 🤣
Just curious how is the trolling motor holding up in the saltwater being it's mainly a fresh water trolling motor
I cant tell you how many times I pull up to a spot and catch a trout on the first cast and then get nothing else lol
At one time I think I had a membership to your course, how can I find out?
How do you determine what color artificial bait you use? Is it based on water conditions and the time of year, or just trial and error? And while moving from spot to spot, do you adjust the depth of the lure or stick with the same depth from spot to spot? Thanks.
I think people overthink lure color. Just tie on whatever and focus on finding biting fish in the first place.
In the 1,500+ lessons inside LAFB Elite you'll hardly ever hear me talk about lure color (though it is certainly covered).
What matters most is safely navigating the marsh and finding biting fish in the first place.
Lure color doesn't matter if there's no fish to see it in the first place.
Is that a bg? What size? What’s your pole set up for pooping cork rig?
Joe, that's a 2500 or 3000, and that's also a great question. I strongly suggest you check out my guide here:
www.lafishblog.com/choosing-best-rod-speckled-trout-redfish/
I’m using med/fast 7’ for my trout set up with tatula 150
Med heavy/ mod 7’6” for my red set up with tatula 200.
Have a sv I think I’m gonna make a top water/ twitch bait set up with. Probably gonna go with a shorter end rod. To get the downward twitch action off the boat since I’m shorter guy.
Thanks for the reply Gotta get a pooping set up as well. Even though I don’t use that much.
Daiwa is my go to now and Waterloo rods. The rods make the difference for sure.
Is this a new video? It says 11 months ago?
Where are those rocks located at? Can’t be by sweet water huh?
Yes. No. Maybe.
If you followed along in the video, you'd know that I left to....where?
Please don’t leave us again 😢.
I hear you, but LAFB Elite is still my focus and will be for some time. Inshore Fishing 101 needs to be re-recorded and updated and that's going to take forever.
@@LAFishBlog leave the old ones up though. It’s crazy seeing the long hair lol
Lol...your legal size limit is funny. Try our size regulations at 17"-23" and only 3 bag limit per day. Now THAT'S a challenge lol.
Great video as always! Like the new perspectives…especially the extra high camera for the wide shot. Drone is cool but that extra high and wide is nice to see where bait lands when you cast toward the front. Will you be putting out a new summer course? Wife and I will be spending a week down around Shell Beach and Delacroix 2nd to last week in May. May is kind of a transition between spring and summer. I still need to sit down and watch the spring course this week too…thanks again for the courses and this vid!
The content in Spring Fish Location will 100% put you on fish in May.
With that said, I do plan on a separate Summer Fish Location course.
After that, there's already a TON of summer content inside LAFB Elite, "Understanding the Habits of Summertime Speckled Trout" being one:

Tight lines, Robbie!
