You literally used someoneelses birthday freebies to get free food. It’s doesn’t count if you have use someone else’s stuff to in order to get free food. Very disappointing video.
@@pbg624leave
@@pbg624The point is to show that the deals are there if you have a birthday. The video is not about her. Its to give tips for others.
Nyce information dear 😂
PLEASE keep your fingers in when you cut so you don't chop off the tops of your digits!
The problem with this, is that it's mostly birthday freebies. You can't do this on a random day.
Exactly. Outside the ones that give you some on sign up it really wasn't much. Some places actually check if it's your birthday too
They don’t check so do different birthdays as you come across the deal so can collect through the year
@Karina-wo1jo I just had my birthday recently. I got a bunch of free stuff, and several places asked to see my ID. The ones that didn't have an app for their business at least. Which puts the free item in your account, or sends you an email.
I agree that this makes it a little hard but she did also a lot of other stuff and she didnt used her own birthday so you can get away with that.
Does somebody need a hug 🤗
Taz, if you’re still walking stitch (or in contact with her owner) you should know that collars can be dangerous for her breed. She looks like a Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso to me. Those dogs have collapsing tracheas- a small bone that flips in their throat- and collars can push and pull on that bone causing permanent collapse and asphyxiation. It’s recommend to use chest harnesses instead to prevent this.
Thanks for this information, we already had a harness but she didn't seem to like it. However, we now exclusively use the harness. Thanks! She is a Lhasa apso.
Edit- Also wanted to add for anyone wondering, we've had Stitch's hair cut since the vid released and she is now much less scruffy. We usually let her hair grow in the winter as it gets quite cold.
@@SEObirderstitch is absolutely adorable ❤
@@SEObirder I have a chihuahua & it took me a while to find a harness we both loved, there are so many different styles out there that fit so differently its a pain in the ass trying to find the right one for them but definitely worth it! :)
As a student who’s also renting in London this video is a NEED!! Thank you x10000 taz 😭🤭
Let’s hope it’s your birthday everyday 😂
@@Sweetieee I’ll make it my birthday 🤣
@@shabztbbmaybe just make lots of of new emails so you have lots of birthdays 😂 to be fair if the deals last a month then you’d only need 12 emails haha. Mix that with Lidl £1.50 wonky fruit n veg box sorted
@@secretninja247 facts and I have loads of emails already 🥲
When my mom was a struggling college student, she used to go to hotels and blend in with the groups that were having parties or other gatherings there with buffet style food so she could get a free meal!
As a sikh the biggest tip I can give is to find our temple (Gurdwara) we feed anyone who walks in for free
@ssethi3904 I went to a Gurdwara before and they did offer free food to everyone no matter what (at designated timings) which I though was amazing. Would you say that if someone is genuinely struggling, it's okay to come in regularly? Or is that considered disrespectful and "using" the Gurdwara?
@@evaserova though I am not a sikh, i am a hindu, but since I am well acquainted with this religion of our land, yes if you are struggling, do go there and eat, you can offer service there too, so it's all balanced out since you are feeling hesitant of 'using' gurudwara. Any sikh person, correct me if I was wrong.
I’ve been to events at my local Gurdwara and they’re really welcoming and supportive. Some church groups will run lunch or breakfast events but it’s not an everywhere thing.
This is definitely bringing me back to when I first found you and it’s like you’ve come full circle from the 1 pound challenge lol
We love the growth throughout these years 🌱
I would LOVE her to do a revisit and try do it again now after inflation & all the things she’s learnt about cooking since then etc!!
@@RS-yy6qz same!
i also found her through that vid!!🩷
Taz!!! Re heated rice is perfectly safe to eat as long as it’s put away fast enough! The harmful bacteria starts to form when it sits at room temperature! The longer it sits at room temp the riskier, just make sure you put it in the fridge while it’s still fairly warm and you should be A-okay!
The issue with coupons and birthday freebies is they would be usually once a year or once in a while in a big city like London. If I tried to do something like this in the town I live in, even using Too good to go for a week and be able to eat would be a challenge.
I understand why these videos are done in London because it's where Taz lives, but I would be interested to see how this challenge would go elsewhere in the country, possibly her home town in Wales?
The problem with London is it's really doesn't represent the UK as a whole. You could say cities like Birmingham and Manchester would be similar, but try doing this in your average neglected, underfunded town and I think the experience would be very different.
This isn't meant as a criticism, Taz herself notes how lucky she is to live in London but it's a common trend with CZcamsrs to only focus on London and I think had she done this challenge outside of London she'd have struggled a lot more.
True
why don’t you do one? you’ve seen a gap so instead of waiting for someone to take the video for you why don’t you just try it out?
She did a eating free for a day episode back when she lived in Wales, as well as a eating on 1 pound a day for a day and a week! While she didn't specifically do a complete week of eating for free, the challenges she did do encapsulate the differences between Wales and London quite well.
She has made loads of budget videos in Wales. You should check them out they are great!
but she lives in london, so this is obviously gonna be based in london
Wow, lucky! In my country, you’ll say “it’s my birthday” to the store and they’ll say happy birthday but not give anything for free🤣
I honestly liked the past videos more of living on a budget/free. Not every day is a birthday for people and people working every day also can't take up additional jobs or can sell items every day/week. In addition, being directly in London I think makes the challenge much easier than living in a smaller town with less options and freebie options. I could usually take a few things and be able to make them happen here way outside of London, but there wasn't really anything I could use to get through a week out here.
This is not a way to live, it’s just a challenge. you can’t live for free
to be fair to her, I don't think she said anywhere in the video that this is a sustainable way to live. other youtubers were like 'wow this is so easy how are people struggling!' which is horrible but this girl doesn't. it's just a challenge to see how much she can get and happens to live in london.
missed you taz! been watching since my first year on architecture school and now im in my last year of college! thank you for being a part of my journey, loved watching your vids while making my plates ;)
Taz, DAHLING!! You def could’ve froze ALL of your pastries in the same bag. 🤭
I think she did this so she could take them out individually? Not having to take them all out at once.
Yaaaay I love how old videos are coming back slowly.. more of these please ❤
This will make my life totally easier because of you Taz!!! My fam is deciding to have citizenship in the UK too... but its so damn expensive, so this could help us save much finance in the long term [ even if its mostly saved on birthdays :) ]
I love you so much :( no seriously, I came across your videos like 4 years ago, during the pandemic. For some reason, i find your videos quite comforting. Thank you so much for that
Back to classic Taz! I have missed these videos. Thank you. 👏
You are hands down my favorite youtuber, been watching your videos for years.
keep on Killin it Taz! Your awesome.
(Also your merch is fire, I need to buy a new "I've hit a new low" hoodie)
Nothing like a Taz video on a Sunday morning. 👏👏👏🙌
Taz absolutely love your content!!! Its so real and wholesome
ive been watching your channel for years, i love you
Such a fantastic idea and fun to see what you could get. Stitch is so adorable.
Yay!!! So excited for a new video! Love you Taz 💜💜💜 have you ever thought of visiting New Zealand !? 🇳🇿
At 12:55 Not me focusing on Taz's BT21 characters collection instead of listening to what she's saying 😂💜
I literally hopped into the comets bcs of this jajsjjaj
@@onlyonemorepanda9524 I've noticed her using a TATA mug before too 😂💜
This was such an interessting and helpful video. Thanks Taz ✨️
Taz, almost all baked goods and breakfast foods freeze really well. Outside a bowl of cold cereal I prep ahead and freeze about 80% of my breakfast items just to sleep in a few extra minutes on those days, lol. I purposely freeze cakes before frosting because the ice crystals that form later melt and add MORE moisture to the cake. Try it! Next time you make breakfast pancakes or waffles, French toast, breakfast burritos, etc., just make extra and pop in the freezer for when you need them. They're amazing!
taz content is always so entertaining!!
You did amazing. Just shows whats is available in a big cury and all the bday offers that prob go to waste. Great tips Taz thank you x
Hi Taz, I live in the Philippines and I really like your videos. Thank you for sharing your experience and what is life there! :)
17:47 You should try oats with milk, peanut butter and banana. Is simple but taste great
Love you!! We need more!
You don’t give yourself enough credit, Taz. You completed this challenge amazingly!
Suggestion: Live of what you find dumpster diving for one whole week. Love your work and I'm currently binging the last 5 years😂
My fav kind of videos from youuuu
Nice vid! I feel like I'd be slightly limited with some of the birthday treats because of allergies, but it definitely looks like there are a whole bunch, so I'd definitely find something. Have to wait a few months though. :p
I should definitely try a wonky veg box. It could be a great way to have some fruit/veg I might not normally pick up. Glad you didn't end up just having snacks and dessert all week!
I haven't watched you in so longggg but wow girl you've come a long ass way wow even a new apartment like whattttt its beautiful but again I always knew u were gonna make it
this reminded me to do my birthday deals throughout the month instead of remembering at the very end of the month! (my bday is the 31st, so i forget abt ALL the monthly deals)
Love you and your content Taz!
a big hint on cutting the tomatoes, you need to use a serrated knife, like a breadknife :D it'll go way easier cause a normal knife even sharp, will have a harder time finding grip on the skin :)
you should make a playlist with all your videos, this is a very bingeable channel
ILY TAZZZ i found ur account again after discovering you then losing my account some years ago!!!! This is awesome reminds me of the old vids
You’re beautiful! Keep up the great work. 🥰
Genuinely had to do this for 2 months last year because I have a disability and my benefits were stopped ( I do work but can’t work full time and my salary doesn’t cover my rent and bills), food banks are great but you don’t get much and can’t use them often. It’s not easy.
I'm so sorry you had to go through that, I hope you are OK now. It's inhumane to cut someone's disability payments
@@dfjulesfulthank you for your kind response! I know, it was devastating, it took 10 months to resolve but I do now receive what I need to get by!
@@MentalHealthJourney I'm glad to hear that! I'm on disability too so I can definitely sympathise
You keep getting bigger and bigger, you give me hope for a better day
These videos are my fav from taz
These videos make me so happy
I didn't know Lidl did that kind of fruit/vegetable box in the UK too.
That's amazing.
We have it in Germany too, it's a bag tho, and we buy it often :)
My Lidl does Not have it which is a pity🥹 what were your experiences so far?
If you're UK based, they do it where I am in Scotland. The boxes are usually AFTER tills which makes it a little hard to find at times, maybe ask staff or look around the till/counter after tills area! I've found some decent stuff there, enough for a stew once!@@melow5142
The veg box looks amazing! In our Lidl, it's really hard to find a single good piece of vegetable in the box.
Great job! For the best oatmeal you need to bring your water to a boil then put your oatmeal in and add vanilla, bring it back up to a boil it for about a minute take it off the heat. In your bowl you should have some butter, sweetener, honey, sugar, or Stevia, whatever you use… put your hot oatmeal on top of it. Mix it up and it taste wonderful as is, but we like to add blueberries and walnuts to ours.
Love Taz. Always the adventure taken so that we don't have to be the first. Enjoy everything you do and the melted chocolate in oatmeal looks delish. Melted chocolate would taste good on a car battery haha
The nourish hub and places like it use food that would otherwise be waste to ensure people that would otherwise be hungry can eat. Waitrose and M&S to Tesco are all signed up to this. Donations to the project to help cover overheads are always appreciated.
Your hair looks so nice lately ❤
STOP OH MY GOD IDK WHEN U FIRST DID THIS CHALLENGE BUT WAS IT LIKE 2019? I WAS LIKE 10 AND SEEING THIS ON MY RECOMMENDED GAVE ME SUCH DEJA VU AND I INSTANTLY CLICKED ON IT
loved this!
Also a tip, you should make oatmeal with milk or a milk substitute. You boil it together, add some sweetener and cinnamon and you're done. You can also reheat rice as long as you put it in the fridge once it's cooled down when you first make it. Don't leave it out of the fridge for hours, that's where the bacteria starts to form.
Milk is not free 😢 if milk is optional I always use water
Actually, it's better to put rice or any food still hot/warm into the fridge than wait for it to cool down. Food borne bacteria can develop when it's cooled down out of the fridge. I used to do what you said until I read from USDA and FDA that it will keep you and your food safe if you refrigerate the food while it's still hot. :)
@MoniqueV119 That depends on where you live. Here we're told that hot food in the fridge raises the temperature inside the fridge and it can spoil other food. We're told to let it cool down to room temperature, and put it in the fridge then. And to not leave it out two hours or more.
Always love you're videos taz you are always interesting love your channel
We love a long video !!! ❤
Aweee yeahhhh new video!! Love you Taz!
the freezer is my biggest tip for saving money. I freeze everything. Mostly things I've baked and couldn't finish in time but yeah, the freezer is your best friend
If you’re doing the spice thing you will need to remember to cancel straight after otherwise you’ll be charged the subscription price once the “trial” is over
Love you taz 💖💖 I’ve been watching you for years and I still look forward to every one of your posts, you make the world a better place 💖
Awesome job 😎👍
Thank you for this video taz 😊😂❤
I love when u film living with 1 dollar or something it’s good please make more
while many have said it’s not useful every days tipps, i do appreciate the ideas on how to get freebies and safe money at least once in a while!
i agree, not everyone knows about these birthday freebies!
after not watching her for a few months her character still stays the same as if its 2020 and im watching her videos 😂
I miss Lidl. When I was in Ireland we would do all our shopping there, but in CA I am no where near one lol.
Taz u killed it, this is amazing video good job, its amazing the stuff u got, and It made me realize I get birthday freebies its my birthday month so im 🎉🏮yay! 😅
That tomatoes trick works if your knife is Sharpe and the plate has a little foot to hold them in place😂
Saw the show "one day" on Netflix and Emma in the show reminded me of you. I haven't watched your channel in about 2 years
I did the wedding cake thing. It worked out great!
yaayy i missed such vidssss
I didn't know about Lidl's wonky box or LoLa's cupcakes. I will use them thanks.
God I have not seen a Taz video In SO LONG!!!
She just appeared In my recommended again after years lol
Taz's girl math: I could sell stuff (that I already spent money on before) to get money so I technically don't spend money this week.. 😂
Love you taz ❤ been watchin you simce the beggining, i feel like your my friend. I just dont get to hang out with you cuz your that cool kid 😅 hehe
We basically only eat food that I can make in bulk to last 4meals like
Curry
Roast
Spaghetti
And we always use tin beans, chickpeas, tomato’s. Tins are SO CHEAP.
And frozen vegetables and thats cheaper then tin veg.
For pudding my go to is anything in the PIE maker.
Tin peaches are only 33p then to make pastry it’s just flour and butter. So that’s a homemade pie for like 50p, and feeds 6peeps.
And sometimes we eat only based on what I find reduced that day in the shop.
Even cheaper, cook your beans from dried, cool & store in saved food jars (like an empty pasta sauce jar) in the freezer. My Instant Pot paid for itself in about 3 months & the texture is way better once you figure out the timing of the bean varieties & your machine...😋
You should do some reviewing of too good to go bags
You did amazing 😮
Love this video more please 😊
I wonder if there are free fruit picking places. I think I looked ages ago and saw a site that mapped out fruit trees and stuff, but when I checked, some where in people gardens. Dont know how that works.
Hey you mentioned you would leave links for the activities you did in the description but I can’t see them, would you be able to add them please! Great video as always btw 😊
She put it all in her comment
Heyy lol i luv ur vids u slay taz
we need a What you eat in a week video!!
this!!!
I like your video especially with cost of living being a massive issue but I do have one problem- I live in between 2 cities so the middle area is stretched and your type of free living would only work if you were living in a big city where you can get lots of shops. I don’t think people would benefit from this but it is a good way to check out more deals and see what can be given out x
remember that rice is salvagable just make jook/congee essentially a savory rice porridge.
how do you make it?
whenever I use the really cheap rice from supermarket it always goes mushy and catastrophically in the rice cooker - no matter how much water I use / how much I wash the rice :')
You should find someone who can teach you how to safely forage. Things like wild garlic are very nutritious and tasty and are completely free if you gather them yourself (could even do it on a dog walk).
My goodness! I tried to do as much as I could of this challenge in one day on a work trip to London (collecting before and after work) and it was a mission! Results: free chocs (hotel Chocolat, plus 54p... Maybe the prices went up?) free coffee at Ole and steen (by far the most confusing experience... They explained the points poorly, put through the coffee order when I had changed my mind to pick bread once I clocked that I could only get one of the two...and forgot my request for oat milk 😢), Gail's was amaze!, got 2 free energy drinks at Waitrose (through the green jinn app, and addition of my own), 5 egg rolls at chopstix, the barburrito monster. Not too bad but the sugar/caffeine crash is no joke 🤣
love your jacket !! which brand is it?
Being from The Netherlands, we always freeze bread and pastry!
leftover rice syndrome will only happen if you leave it out. i came close to getting it from eating rice that was on the counter for 2 days in summer weather
Love these videos, next time could you do vegan eating in London for a week as cheaply as possible, but meeting like recommended nutritional guidelines?
Oh man, I'm from the USA and that 1p veg box is amazing. We really don't have anything like that here. Those veggies and fruits would have been $25-ish. People wonder why we don't eat as many veggies. Who can afford to?
It's a 'wonky' veg box not a '1p' veg box, easy mistake to make though! It's called that because it's usually the fruit and veg that's bruised/scraped/misshapen. The box is £1.50 though so still very cheap!
I soooo wish one of our grocery stores where I live would do a wonky veg box.
Waiting for thus video for a while 😊😊😊ly tazzzzz
It would be interesting if you did the same challenge or at least like 2 days without a freezer.
Love you ❤
would love to know more abot Lintl choco Thanks Taz
You can’t do this challenge in NY 😭 not enough options sadly
Despite all the negative comments I think you did great Taz! Of course the video wouldn't apply to everyone and that is okay! It's called "how I lived for free for an entire week" not how you can. Best of luck Taz and those in the comments, peace and love. :)
