Cutting Off All The Suspension | Samantha Vlog3

- Today we are cutting off all the suspension brackets that are hanging low on the frame. We are not putting Independent suspension back onto this vehicle so we are not going to be reusing these brackets.
After we cut the brackets off I need to grind down what's left and make it flush to the frame. The main reason I am doing this is to see if we cut into the frame with the Plasma Cutter. If we did cut into the frame then I need to go back and fill in those holes with welds.

not to be "that guy" but im an ironworker and i have done a lot of grinding with cut off wheels, just a heads up if you grind on them too long they will fly into pieces. its not as bad as when you are cutting with them but it will still hurt the fingers lol. love all your guys' content and hoping to make the next meet up, if the virus ever calms down
Yes you're correct scott, it's only miner grinding on the cut off wheel
If all else fails and welding it up just won’t work what I did on mine is cut out that small section of frame where the holes are and use it as a template on your new steel fit it back in the frame and weld it in and smooth the welds and you’ll never tell the differance
That's what I was thinking we would need to do, but Husmann just fill welded it
I just love that welding cart
Totally functional!
You could use the repetitive tac weld to fill the holes. Tac on the edge of the hole let it cool until it stops glowing then repeat. Just can’t put too big a tac weld or itll burn through. That’s what I typically do
Awesome suggestion, thanks for mentioning that
Wicked! Great work, can't wait to see more on this build.
Thanks, things are going to get exciting
Yeah mate keep it up your doing good man keep going hard I’m wanting to do this to my 2wd Toyota hilux and your the only person that is doing a video about it and it’s really good man keep it up
Thanks! I'm going to the extreme, you won't have to do as much as I am
Samantha build is going to be great. If I learned anything from this video is how awesome a shopping cart is for a welding cart. Sorry Safeway.
Wasn't safeway, but it is great
Can’t wait to see this build come together. If you are in the market for a plasma cutter yes welder makes one at a decent price and I have a discount code. I’m gonna be doing a review on it soon.
I might!

Where did those frame reinforcement plates come from? I can’t find them for 2wd
Those holes aren't that bad, it shouldn't be too hard to fix. I'm not the most amazing welder but I find filling with tig is much easier.
Yeah, I was thinking about welding a plate over them, but am going to talk to Jason on Thursday
Walmart wants their welding cart back
Haha, it wasn't a WalMart
Love your videos man! Just bought a 92 2WD Pickup 22RE but not sure what i need to lift it a couple of inches. Could you email me what i would need to accomplish something like that? Not sure what the easiest route would be. TIA
Send me and Emil so we can talk... Jimmy@snailtrail4x4.com
