ProSTEEL RAIN it’s caused by the high initial load on the alternator when the engine starts after an extended crank. New belts would probably help.

just picked up a 1978 Chevy Cheyenne K20 camper special as my first truck. Sadly not a 454, but a 350 will do.
I used to have a 76 near identical. Camper special, full time 4x4, 350. Cheyenne trim. Loved that color. Called er the pumpkin truck.
