It was a sunny 47F day so we decided to take the '53 Willys out for a drive around the neighborhood to warm it up after sitting for a few months over the winter.

What is that black wire going to the seat?
It’s a wire to connect a battery charger
put it in sun it warms
Nice work and make the fan or a go kart
Daily driver right there!!
Cool jeans baby
Bud your video is the best I ever seen.all in such detail.thanks I am subscribed keep them coming I enjoy them thanks 👍
Thanks!
I'm Looking for a gas tank I have a 87 dodge Dakota, I can't find one, could I make something work? I don't know.
Great job little brother 👍 😊
Old gas
No, it wasn’t old gas.
Cool jeans baby
Sweet!
Nice video bro!
How long of hinges did you use?
Your clamp looks different then mine. Mine is silver
They don't make them like that anymore 😪
Can you give me the exhaust link I want to buy one but I can find it, I also have the same exact quad.
We bought that probably 4-5 years ago, I don't recall where. Maybe look on Big Gun's website.
Oh yeah baby gas
What exhaust do you have on the truck? Sounds great
Tyres look awesome. Does they affect turning radius? And power steering or original?
It's the original manual steering. No effect on turning radius.
This is the best video I’ve seen thanks a lot of help👍🏻
L
It ain't got no gars in it.
Could you help me figure out a problem on my 2008 Polaris outlaw 50?
What’s going on?
I have no spark on the 2008 Polaris outlaw 50 I replaced the stator, brand new battery, brand new spark plug, brand new CDI, brand new coil, brand new voltage regulator. I put that all on tonight and started cranking it and the voltage regulator got so hot it melted the connector on the voltage regulator and still have no spark, is there issue with the porcelain resistor
@@adamcollins3259 hmmm…don’t know. Almost sounds like you have a short in the wiring somewhere.
I had a 1963 with a slant six, three on column during high school in the 1980's.
I’ve ordered one size up on my pilot jet for this reason
Real Truck no frills. No 21st century junk or plastic crap. TOUGH. BUILT TO LAST.
Totally agree.
@@joesfamilyfarm you must be an old fart like me. Haha
Purringlikea kitten. I love old rides.
And better looking
This is way better than anything on the road. Today.
A real truck.
Nice. Old big 318. Old reliable. Cool truck. I had a 64. Big 318 in it
I love this saw just picked it up runs great! EASY to work on made to last! Not like these new cheap plastic garbage saws!
Yep. I think my grandpa bought that saw in the late ‘70s. It’s a lot heavier than the newer ones. I do like my Stihl though.
So what had failed on it?
Why are these things so hard to start when the engine is cold??!! My son’s 2019 model is horrific to start!!!
Are there any aftermarket carburetor options for these little quads?
What’s your exhaust setup? Headers?
Headers, dual exhaust with H-pipe.
What did you set the valve lash too?
3,000. Because he didn't have a 2,000 and he's a fucking idiot.
Nice job, good quality work! May I ask where did you get the official Honda wench?
Thanks. You can order the winch through any Honda ATV dealer, or various places online. You'll need to order the sub harness as well. Nice thing about going with the OEM part is everything fits up nicely...made for the machine.
Did you have any issue with stator and/or rectifier? And how many watt r those pod light? Got a link for it? Thanks
No issues. Check out my other video explaining how much amperage you can run here: czcams.com/video/-Q5zNTfKVxU/video.html. Lights were Nilite ordered off Amazon.
I saw the second video and the subtitle on my device r so freakin small and r hurting my eyes.... ill check later on my tv which it bigger so i can read better! :D
What kind of problems were you having with me I had a problem with the one I own as well
The hard starting was due to incorrect valve adjustment - they were too tight. Also, the idle was erratic. That too was resolved with valve adjustment.
@@joesfamilyfarm thanks I'm look into it having the same issues and the quad is like new
@@centralcal6604 Probably so. Ours ran great for a while when new, but it started having issues within a few months.
Is this truck for sale ? If so where is it located
Everything is for sale, just depends on what a guy is willing to pay. It is located in Oregon.
@@joesfamilyfarm hi! What's a good price for this truck? I have one I'm trying to sell, but I have no idea of it's value. Thank you!!
@@carolgordon2772 I’m not sure of a fair price either. I’ve seen all originals go pretty high on eBay. I wouldn’t even entertain parting with mine for less than $10k, maybe more.
@@joesfamilyfarm Thanks for the quick response! Ours needs some TLC but she's still pretty!
There are LOTS of videos of people attempting to start this saw. Unfortunately, Most of them do not know the proper start sequence. When cold: 1) pull the choke. 2) Set the throttle to high idle 3) turn switch to run 4) pull the rope until the engine starts and dies. (usually 4 or 5 pulls) 5 ) close choke 6) pull rope until the saw stats and runs at fast idle. (usually 2 or 3 pulls) 7) blip the throttle to drop out of fast idle. 8) cut wood. When warm: 1) Set throttle to fast idle. 2) turn switch to run 3) pull rope 4) blip the throttle to drop out of fast idle. 5) cut wood If you follow the EXACT start sequence, this saw will start every single time with precision. We have heated our house with one that we bought new in 1981 until today, and it starts and runs exactly as it did from day one. Have fun!
You pretty much nailed it. On mine I squeeze the trigger 3 times then everything you said…
This comment started my McCullough! Thank you from New Zealand.
Took me forever to understand what fast idle was, turns out the guy I bought it from had electrical taped the throttle lock down! Thank you so much for your comment, and to the poster for the video, for the thing started right quick.
I have a Honda sportrax 90 that was maid in 2012 and I don’t think that they are popular because I’ve been looking and I can’t find any reviews
Not much need to review a Honda in my opinion. They have always made good reliable motorcycles and ATVs, most people know that already. With basic maintenance, they'll last almost indefinitely. Not like the cheap China junk. And not popular? In my area, all the dealers are sold out. Used ones are scarce. In fact, I just sold a 2006 TRX90 a week ago for more than double what I paid for it used back in 2013.
i have 1949
I have a CJ-3A, and a few CJ-5's, someday we will fix a few up.
Wish I wasn't so far away. Would love to try some of those trails up there in your neck of the country. I enjoy watching your channel, especially videos on fixing/updating the wrecker.
Where does this small engine technician live. I need my things repaired by him.
I was expecting something heavy like a cat D3 or something like that but hey towing a camper for vacation is nice 👍
Most have issues with these because VALVES are too tight! Value adjustment does seem fix it!
This is weird but mine always starts first try though I need to pump the throttle when its cold
Not sure what pumping the throttle would accomplish since there is no accelerator pump.
@@joesfamilyfarm it’s basically revving the engine while it’s turning over
@@t-rex2502 If the engine is turning over and hasn't started, how can it be revved? Makes no sense.
@@joesfamilyfarm i know i am not truly revving but how you start a carbureted engine is by basically revving the throttle while the engine is turning over because it lets more fuel and air in the engine i hope this makes sense now
@@t-rex2502 You pump a carbureted engine (car/truck) because it has an accelerator pump that squirts more fuel in to richen the mixture and aid starting. I am pretty sure the carb on the TRX250EX has no accelerator pump, therefore I guess we will have to agree to disagree as to whether or not pumping the throttle does anything. I guess if it works for you, that's all that matters.
