      Yeah I put the 3/4 ton running gears in it and I took a 454 out of a wrecked 93 swish it from throttle body to the carburetor by changing the intake and I used a 86 4 speed. And once the 4 speed I lost 3erd in I put a 5 speed out of a 91 in besides that I never really had any problems with it besides just doing maintenance to it

    You need to pump the throttle slightly after it starts.
    This will help mimic having a choke keeping the mixture rich until the engine, mostly the intake is warm enough to vaporize the fuel

    Note from an auto tech. When your engine is that cold, especially 9 degrees. Never rev your engine past 3k rpms until it has reached full operating temperature. Remember metal expands and the inside of the block can expand faster than the outside. You can potentially cause alot of problems.

      No it didn't. A good friy of mine was working on getting the truck put together. But unfortunately he unexpectedly passed away in a motorcycle accident. So I had bout it off his wife and finished the truck with the 454 and 3/4 ton running gears and since this video a five speed was added to it and a cam and headers then I sold it to another good friend of mine where he's doing a complete frame off resto on it currently

    • @swscrash
      @swscrash  Před 6 lety +1

      Wayne Davis on my truck the engine is out of a 93 one ton so it don't have a place in the block for the mechanical fuel pump so I put a electronic fuel pump back at the tank and the carb I have on this truck is only a year old 750 Edelbrock

    • @chasecraiger1046

      pump the gas a few times before starting to force gas into the carb

    • @J4riel
      @J4riel Před 6 lety +1

      might have a leak in the fuel line. small pin hole. mine took forever to start as well everytime it sat, found a small slit on the fuel hose that didnt cause a leak but caused fuel to drain back to the tank and also caused the issue like sucking through a straw with a hole in it...

    • @kellyh4035
      @kellyh4035 Před 6 lety +2

      Wayne Davis The problem is a likely the float bowl needle valve seats are worn.
      Causing the fuel normally stored in the carb bowl to leaked back down into the line and tank overnight
