I've been lying on my resume since i was 18 lol. I always just give my friends phone number as reference, i've even gone as far once to make a fake company website to make it look more legit lmao.
I have VP candidates who lie. Rule #1 for recruiting: everyone is lying to you Candidates, clients, references, spouses, dogs. Nearly every batch of references is total cherrypicked BS. That being said, I have my methods to verify.
I did such a thing once, long ago. It was actually quite funny. There was no Internet at the time, so this was even easier to do, ha ha ha.
@@richardlight4305 To be fair employers are assholes, they deserve to be lied to
@@richardlight4305 how do you do it bro, teach me so that I can counter that to get a job
It's not like employers never lie to job applicants or their employees. They lie all the time. "No, you will not have to work weekends." 2 weeks later. "We need you to work weekends." 😆

Ive been terminated for 4 jobs , each one after 3 years. It doesn’t matter how good you are at the end they dont care , its not your business!..
Two lives: business & private. Keep them as far apart as possible. Keep friends outside your workspace as well.
I get heat from HR and my boss for not going to the “employee appreciation day”. This is done during work hours and we are almost forced to go. I refuse to play that game and had to inform HR that it is my right not to attend. I have zero desire to hang out with my co workers. Most of them can’t be trusted.
So true... Didn't go to the end of the year party....
I knew it would be a whole bunch of kissing ass to all the managers and bosses...
2 months later I walked off and was fired...
Stupid lazy people ....
Blind leading the blind...
Better off leaving...

Pays better and less petty narcissistic bullshit!!
Yeah I went through this in 2009 when I was right out of highschool.Couldn't find a job that would hire me and I lied so much in my resume and interviews because I was desperate for a job as a young kid. Being interviewed by "managers" who clearly suck at their jobs and have a smug attitude when they work at a basic job. I must've filled out over 100 applications on paper & online in my area. I lived in southern california so that speaks for itself. I eventually got a door to door sales job selling verizon fios with no experience and that was a huge waste of time along with joining several MLM scams that wasted my time too.
I said fuck this and created my own job online and ever since I've been doing pretty well. It's always best to take it into your own hands when others can't see your value and do your own thing if you're willing to make that sacrifice.
Dope
What kind of online job, you've made?
@@ShAlove22 Drop servicing mixed with affiliate marketing
man, you are so right about these jobs being the thing that you get inmerse and think of 24/7 ... makes me sick
I think its becoming more common that people don't have a social circle outside of work and work becomes their entire social circle, so companies are just catering to that now.
I work for a hotel now, I'm at their bar. It's a higher end bar that does look nice and fancy, but that place lacks soul. The guests that go there have this mask that makes me miserable and same thing with the bartenders I work with. I guess it's all part of the show but the lack of authenticity and character is what makes that place miserable, despite it being a fancy comfortable place. It's so weird because the last restaurant I worked for was ghetto, with a messed up management and all that, but I was so much happier there because the people there made it bearable. I guess it's the soul that matters more than the paycheck
I was lucky enough to have FU money to walk if the my company implemented the jab mandate. When they did, I said nope. Luckily, they stopped the mandate when SCOTUS shot it down.
FU money is the best money you will ever have. In a world of BP chumps relying on the system, FU money is a solid RP indicator.
@@richardlight4305 Oh yeah, you'd think people would wake up over the last two years and 2008 that jobs are not secure. It feels great to have FU money banked.
And youre right, i also dont care for the company or for the people i have to work with. I only fake laugh, i try to hold my distance with them
As you should
Used to work for a bank! Now I’m a scuba instructor! Nuff said!😎
Being old school implies masculine traits and that matters more then being new age cool
Your best video i saw so far. The higher you climb the corporate ladder the higher the hipocrisy, and the more you have to censor yourself
I currently work in Western Europe for one of the 10 largest employers in the world. During the job interview, the guy asked: "in our company we value diversity. We work with people of all sorts of colors, gay people etc. Do you have a problem with that?"
So I answered: "the only thing that matters to me is meritocracy and competence"
Did you get hired
@@Yoshi2x yes haha
I agree with everything you said. Timely video for me. I am covering for a female co-worker for the second time in two years this summer for three months while she is off on maternity leave again and am dreading it.
I am getting no pay raise either. I am a Relationship Manager at a Fortune 500 Company and am just expected to do double the work and take on her accounts because we were designated as each other's "backup" when one of us is out sick or on vacation. But three months maternity leave twice in two years goes way beyond that.
Wishing I had my own business right now.
Yea that's crap. They need to start compensating for that. Or just stop hiring women. They always take FAR more than what they're worth
I am an aspiring artist and its all 100% true what this man is saying. I can't speak from inside experience but I have been surrounded by people who do work for these companies for the past 15 years or so. and they will broadcast all this stuff on social media so anyone can see for themselves. it's a blurry line that separates social life and work. there's game night, rock climbing groups, the gym, cross fit , pole dancing, they take classes together, hangout after work, on the lunch break, on the weekends, etc etc etc. its as if they are like a family. united by politics . they all watch and do the same exact stuff and make posts and comments about it on social media. I have a LinkedIn account and whenever I log in I'm bombarded with and endless stream of woke political virtue signaling posts from people I'm supposed to be excited to work with. These aren't the grunts making these posts - it's the producers, the lead designers, the art directors, the directors, the ceos . You have to be very careful with what you post online because you never know which potential future or current co-workers or employers might be watching. everyone wants to be friends and be in each others business but you better be 110% on board with whatever movement the msm tells you or else. It's a tiny group of people who operate these video game, animation, film companies and they all know each other. I want to work as a creative but as time goes on it is getting harder and harder to stomach the politics and just the overall culture that permeates the industry. which is probably the biggest reason why I've avoided getting a job in the industry for years. I'm not ready to just become some woke activist drone. I honestly wouldn't mind if these people were chill when it came to politics and could be accepting and open minded. but I've observed a growing hostility in my "friends/colleagues'" social media posts over the past 5 years that tells me their attitudes are "you're either with us or against us"
Hi Matt. I just resigned from a company that does engineering and inspection support for AT&T. Very unorganized and they even wanna make you work late and weekends sometimes. It’s like living for work and not working for a living. That’s a bit how I felt. I was told that if you get bitten by a dog while doing a home visit to inspect a job site, AT&T will fire you. I don’t know how true that is, but I thought that was crazy when I heard it. That just goes to show the selfishness of the company. AT&T is basically a monopoly eating up all the other telecom businesses. Don’t use linked in. I’ve never had. I always use indeed. So much easier and straight forward. Right now here in Texas there is so much work, so many job openings it’s insane. Many people are still not back in the workforce fully. One thing I’ve noticed is that many companies are using staff agencies to bring people in, because of the fact that their company cannot handle the job placing process properly and on a timing manner. Many of these corporations see that their policies are scaring away many good employees and yet they still don’t care to change those policies. They rather keep hiring and hiring new people and I hate companies like that because they don’t appreciate the good hard workers and will do anything to avoid giving you a raise.
If you get bit by a dog on a job site, you get worker's comp. Employers cannot fire an injured worker to avoid paying a workers' compensation claim. They also cannot retaliate or discriminate against a worker for reporting a workplace injury or illness.
Every time I hear a manager said "MY STORE"!!...I want to slap them to wake them up!..all those titles that only give them responsibilities manipulating them.
Thanks for bringing this valuable topic
Awesome video. Hoping to see more videos here on real estate, investing, business and careers . The content here is great.
The cancel culture people at companies are annoying as hell.
Good conversation Matt
Great video brother! I will say to everyone to pursue your dreams and discover your path and purpose and create a way for yourself to get paid from it. PS, I like the view in your coaching video and las Vagas looks cool, need to travel there soon! Again high value coaching lesson Matt! 💯 Once again the consistency is still going strong! 💪
Don't talk about your hobbies if you like your privacy. Unless you have doubts about the job self. If it doesn't fit their point of view they'll hire someone else. You'll know instantly it wasn't the right place for you.
The company I work with wanted to know who got to the shot or wont get it. Almost half the company said no, and they dropped asking those questions.
Lived in Vegas 3 years I can tell you being able to bullshit out here goes along way in this town.luckily I'm from Boston so I know how to dish it out as well as see through it
Thank the gods I run my own operation. Merely self employed, but I set it up correctly, in the correct type of business, and it is way better than being employed, which makes you a hired biaaaaatch.
It really make sense. Why I wouldn't do that before. If I think that before it would save a lot time to learn something new just like building a business And skills it is stupid to believe that if I have a job I am secured.
They took a lot of notes from religious cults.
All the pseudo-Christians will deny this
I have a friend who works for LinkedIn and Joe Biden can do no wrong to him. I’d hate to be in that environment. Luckily I saw this annoying woke office culture coming and decided to pivot to become an aircraft technician for a major airline. None of that woke BS in the aviation industry, just a bunch of cool guys here to work and keep the planes flying.
I told my boss the same thing u told me. Now I got fired. My boss told me “ u don’t fit the company culture, so I have to let u go, I hope u have a better future”
If you do not want to open your own Business you can learn a trade none of the modern corporate situations in those jobs.
I totally agree with this......Matt can you do a video on alleged pay gap between men and women which practically it isn't there. Women always crib why 90% CEOs of Fortune 500 are men and don't look at it from ability angle but gender angle
Funny how women only worry about gender differences in CEO positions. They fail to mention 60% of homeless people are men or that men commit suicide at 4 times the rate of women. I guess women are too busy looking up at that supposed glass ceiling to bother looking down at the glass floor or worse the glass graveyard. You can bet that if women were on the wrong side of such sobering statistics society would actually give a damn and do something about it.
even uk local government has gone down that pan. they spend more time doing monthly 1-1s evaluating yourself against their mission statement/values.
I’m laughing listening to you describe your view on employment. I’m same way. In short, our type “Live in order to play”. By contrast, Many people “Live to work”.
Almost eight minutes in and still waiting for the secret. Geez
I've done it for decades, wking in corporate America....it was so much easier 25 yrs ago, that's for sure....
value ++
Halfway through the video and nothing to do with the title. You need to cut to the chase or have timestamps.
Can you make more videos about becoming a high value man

If there’s a hot Stacy playing ping pong after hours and she invites you to play you’re staying. They’re smart and know this and do this on purpose.
Let me correct.
i dont agree. it does should still include free choice but having a gym at work can save you hours of your own free time. you are there already you dont have to drive to a gym somewhere else. you can shower there and then go and be free. or am i looking wrong at it ?

Never lie on your résumé. It will usually catch up with you.
As you correctly state, the corporate milieu has changed so much in just 10 years.
You say that like its a bad thing. It cant catch up to you if its going at a snails pace and you are Usain bolt.
My original comment was deleted. I use LinkedIn all the time. It's painful and killing my brain.
