Yeah I went through this in 2009 when I was right out of highschool.Couldn't find a job that would hire me and I lied so much in my resume and interviews because I was desperate for a job as a young kid. Being interviewed by "managers" who clearly suck at their jobs and have a smug attitude when they work at a basic job. I must've filled out over 100 applications on paper & online in my area. I lived in southern california so that speaks for itself. I eventually got a door to door sales job selling verizon fios with no experience and that was a huge waste of time along with joining several MLM scams that wasted my time too.
I said fuck this and created my own job online and ever since I've been doing pretty well. It's always best to take it into your own hands when others can't see your value and do your own thing if you're willing to make that sacrifice.

I work for a hotel now, I'm at their bar. It's a higher end bar that does look nice and fancy, but that place lacks soul. The guests that go there have this mask that makes me miserable and same thing with the bartenders I work with. I guess it's all part of the show but the lack of authenticity and character is what makes that place miserable, despite it being a fancy comfortable place. It's so weird because the last restaurant I worked for was ghetto, with a messed up management and all that, but I was so much happier there because the people there made it bearable. I guess it's the soul that matters more than the paycheck

I agree with everything you said. Timely video for me. I am covering for a female co-worker for the second time in two years this summer for three months while she is off on maternity leave again and am dreading it.
I am getting no pay raise either. I am a Relationship Manager at a Fortune 500 Company and am just expected to do double the work and take on her accounts because we were designated as each other's "backup" when one of us is out sick or on vacation. But three months maternity leave twice in two years goes way beyond that.

I am an aspiring artist and its all 100% true what this man is saying. I can't speak from inside experience but I have been surrounded by people who do work for these companies for the past 15 years or so. and they will broadcast all this stuff on social media so anyone can see for themselves. it's a blurry line that separates social life and work. there's game night, rock climbing groups, the gym, cross fit , pole dancing, they take classes together, hangout after work, on the lunch break, on the weekends, etc etc etc. its as if they are like a family. united by politics . they all watch and do the same exact stuff and make posts and comments about it on social media. I have a LinkedIn account and whenever I log in I'm bombarded with and endless stream of woke political virtue signaling posts from people I'm supposed to be excited to work with. These aren't the grunts making these posts - it's the producers, the lead designers, the art directors, the directors, the ceos . You have to be very careful with what you post online because you never know which potential future or current co-workers or employers might be watching. everyone wants to be friends and be in each others business but you better be 110% on board with whatever movement the msm tells you or else. It's a tiny group of people who operate these video game, animation, film companies and they all know each other. I want to work as a creative but as time goes on it is getting harder and harder to stomach the politics and just the overall culture that permeates the industry. which is probably the biggest reason why I've avoided getting a job in the industry for years. I'm not ready to just become some woke activist drone. I honestly wouldn't mind if these people were chill when it came to politics and could be accepting and open minded. but I've observed a growing hostility in my "friends/colleagues'" social media posts over the past 5 years that tells me their attitudes are "you're either with us or against us"

Hi Matt. I just resigned from a company that does engineering and inspection support for AT&T. Very unorganized and they even wanna make you work late and weekends sometimes. It’s like living for work and not working for a living. That’s a bit how I felt. I was told that if you get bitten by a dog while doing a home visit to inspect a job site, AT&T will fire you. I don’t know how true that is, but I thought that was crazy when I heard it. That just goes to show the selfishness of the company. AT&T is basically a monopoly eating up all the other telecom businesses. Don’t use linked in. I’ve never had. I always use indeed. So much easier and straight forward. Right now here in Texas there is so much work, so many job openings it’s insane. Many people are still not back in the workforce fully. One thing I’ve noticed is that many companies are using staff agencies to bring people in, because of the fact that their company cannot handle the job placing process properly and on a timing manner. Many of these corporations see that their policies are scaring away many good employees and yet they still don’t care to change those policies. They rather keep hiring and hiring new people and I hate companies like that because they don’t appreciate the good hard workers and will do anything to avoid giving you a raise.

If you get bit by a dog on a job site, you get worker's comp. Employers cannot fire an injured worker to avoid paying a workers' compensation claim. They also cannot retaliate or discriminate against a worker for reporting a workplace injury or illness.

    • @PaulH581

Funny how women only worry about gender differences in CEO positions. They fail to mention 60% of homeless people are men or that men commit suicide at 4 times the rate of women. I guess women are too busy looking up at that supposed glass ceiling to bother looking down at the glass floor or worse the glass graveyard. You can bet that if women were on the wrong side of such sobering statistics society would actually give a damn and do something about it.
