My mom hires people all the time and had thousands of resumees on her desk. Once she was looking for a doctor to hire and one had the right qualifications but his picture was of him and three beautiful women in front of a luxury car. She didn't like that but she decided to let him come for an interview just to ask about the picture and maybe give him the advice to not use that picture anymore. The guy came in and was super nice and charismatic and when my mom asked him about the picture it turned out the women were his wife and two daughters and the car was his and they just made this super nice family portrait and he liked it so much he put it on his resumee. My mom really liked the attitude and they continued the interviev and in the end she hired him. He really wasn't the macho poser guy she thought he would be. 😄

I did something bad in my career. I was a barista at day and bartender at night. 10 years of experience. In one of the restaurant I worked we had cocktails with alcohol and non alcoholic version. It was crazy busy one Saturday evening. I had dozen of cocktails lined up, printer was bit funky cutting ends of words. Someone ordered French Fancy (non-alco) but alcohol version of that was named French Martini. My brain completely ignored second word on the ticket, I made alcohol version. And when everything slowed down, I looked at the table and I saw 6years old drinking alcohol cocktail. I just had voice from the meme in my head: oooooooh I fucked up.

However... this time I did everything, checked it twice as usual... then I proceeded to change the format to what they requested on the application but never, checked, the, new, format... everything had changed, like I've actually no idea how I did it. Of course I didn't check it until after I submitted the application..... The whole thing was unreadable. It looked like it was done by a 4 year old, not someone who worked as a senior administrator for over 14 YEARS! Needless to say I never got a reply... not even a thanks for applying. 🤦 I'm still embarrassed about it now.

It's MacKinnon, it's really not that difficult if you pay attention to detail :). But I got MacIntosh, McKenzie, McEnroe, Makehan, and a slew of others, the least bad offenders were Mac Kinnon and Mackinnon, at least they used the correct letters. It seems that people have gotten better at that job though, since it's really rare now (really just the last two), but there was a time where 4 out of 5 letters, name tags, what have you ... would have an entirely different name on them.

about the story with the coffee for the 3yo:
I have a cousin who was drinking coffee at 4 and 5 years old everytime the adults had it. I was just a few years older and it always freaked me out bc whe adults drank some and then asked up and i was like WTF? No? its bitter and i am too young for something like that? And meanwhile my cousin would go to the table and be like: Sure, but put a bit of milk in it.
I have no idea what the adults were thinking and actually i do not remember him becoming hyperactive, but he was kinda doing it everyday back then. Eventually it stopped when he was about 6-7 years old (i guess because when he got into school, maybe bc they don serve effing coffee to children there at lunch!!!). He only picked it up as an older teencager again but i still think about how wierd it was that nobody bat an eye to it...
