Dream Homes: $12 million West Vancouver Mansion and Squamish Castle

- On this episode of Dream Homes, Bianca and Peter two custom built houses both with their own unique style. The first is in picturesque Squamish, BC where the owners created their Dream Home in the form of a castle complete with it's own knight! The second home is in West Vancouver's British Properties and has 180 degree views of downtown Vancouver with a some inspiration from Las Vegas.
Vancouver's housing prices are so high right now. A house that size in another city would go for 5 million at the most. Great job with the design!

I love the concept of spending thousands of dollars on a kitchen only to actually cook in one you'd fit in an apartment. I guess that's what you get having your estate agent design your house for you. I love the finish on the house great attention to detail.
Driven by this house so many times... or one that looks just like it, so many pretty houses in this area!

The most uglyiest house I saw

Whoever designed and decorated this home actually knew what they were doing...every room is inviting, comfortable, and provocative...but it’s so big I couldn’t live in it.,.give me a tiny home

The first houre ( the 12 million $ one) is just so so, but that 2 million dollar castle style home, wow, the artisanal wood and stone work in that place would easily take several million to re make. And I much prefer the use of the skills of local artissns. I love it.

i live in north van my house is worth around 1.6 million nothing fancy front and back yard small-medium size, 2 car garage, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bedrooms with living/family room,dining room kitchen yes living in vancouver is expensive.
dang where I live my house was 1.17 million and we have 5 bedrooms a family room a living room a screening room a kitchen,dining,brealfast, and bar,an office 3.5 bathrooms, 2 stories and it's 5,600 sq ft

Yes, I think I know where you're coming from. People often use buzz words without really thinking about what they're saying and as if it makes things more important than they are. I wouldn't have classed 'custom' as one of them but I suppose people love telling others that they were special enough to have something custom made for them, lol. The buzz word I hate most of all is 'organic' because that's one word that almost everyone seems to be fooled by...it's amazing how ignorant the masses are.

you're preaching to the choir sista! it's one thing when you're using the word Organic for foods, but it's another when they use it to describe a song they like. "the bass and sound elements are sooo organic in this sound". Iol can't stand it when people do that. sound is far being a source of a living organism.

I like it. Its unique and quirky. Some of the workmanship is really awesome. Totally custom built. Disappointed we did not go up in the tower?

This house has everything...a million dollar Put-Put course designed by Arnold Palmer and the best thing is the indoor plumbing.

I know its Vancouver but jees.... 12 million dollars for only 8500 square feet! You can get a 3mil house almost as nice with 11,000 square feet!

why your logo pop up regularly, and why view changing so fast?
The Dream Homes logo comes up when we start the show and go in and out of the commercial breaks. However, you don't have to watch the breaks on CZcams so it may feel a little odd.
We try to keep the show moving so the shots are pretty quick, sorry it's too fast for you!

It just blows my mind the lack of imagination-rich people have - this house is just a larger version of your average upper middle class home in southern Ontario/ It really is one unimpressive waste of 11 million dollars to put it midly - you could have done oh so much more but being rich doesn't mean you have taste or any interest in the art of architecture - this house is one of the most boring homes I have ever seen for such a location and price tag....mind you, I am sure the lot alone ate up most of the 11 million as the home sure as hell did not = yuhck !! -
