Now back to this video, so what is the goal for today? First explore the CT4-V. What does it offer? Everything you need to know about it. Also, since I had the opportunity to review the CT5-V video is up here if you want to watch that. I am going to compare these two and explain why I think the CT5-V might be the best choice out of these two for the money.
The CT4 is a replacement of the ATS which was sold between 2012 and 2019. The CT4 comes as a standard compact executive sedan also a spicier option is available the CT4-V which is the one that we have for this video.

This one is easy for me. Ct4-V BlackWing or CT5-v and on my shopping list, along w G70. The Ct5 is much better looking, actually looks best in class. Back seats are nice too and it apparently doesn't suffer in agility or handling vs CT4. Plus 6 cylinder turbo is far better than 4. Great review though, your enthusiasm was awesome. You have also driven very fast card so your shock at the speed of this 4-V was impressive. Subscribed.
If these are your options, the ct4 v blackwing should be it. Imo
I LOVE my 2021 CT5-V. Great ride, great handling, insane brakes, and that exhaust sounds amazing. Summit white with 20in black wheels. My new love
digtal display on the '21 too which is a huge upgrade, i love mine in black
@@putz173 yes! The digital display is great! Looks so sleek!
@@makeupfiend8426 is the digital display standard now? I order mine same spec as yours summit with 20s. But I’ve never seen it. Would you mind sending me some pics of your car?
That red with those black wheels ! 👌
I wish the Camaro V6 was the base engine
In the acceleration runs, i've noticed all ct4's exhibit a dead spot around 5200 rpm where it just sits there for a few seconds on low boost then picks up again, around 3-4th gear, did it happen all the time or sporadic?
Sporadic definitely
G70 is so dated and way less torque Cadillac is killing it these days!
Hey Sam 👋. I'm seriously thinking about getting a new sports sedan. I can't decide between the TLX type S and the CT5-V. Which one performs better and is more fun to drive? Which one is better value ?
Hey man, I’m considering both as well. I’m leaning towards CT5V because it’s lighter and faster, RWD, magnetic ride control, appears to have more legroom, HUD, more driving modes and better gas mileage than type S…the cons I’m concerned about CT5V is reliability, Bose system, fit and finish, maintenance on twin turbo vs twin scroll turbo on type. I need to test drive both first before I make final decision.
I’m also in between a CT5-V or a Type S. Did you guys end up buying one or the other?
@marvelvsdc6611 hey man just wondering if you ended making a decision?
I have mostly made my mind up and am going with CT5V. I am a BMW guy and currently have 3 in my driveway. I sold my 7 series in December and considered the M340i but it was missing something. The 540i was a consideration but fully loaded it was in the mid 70k range and boring. For 58k and better handling than the 5 and with more amenities and larger interior, the cadillac wins. I don't give two s#$@s about 0 to 60 and not trying to be a stoplight king.
Great review and reviewers should be more realistic about how we drive our cars on a daily basis in bumper to bumper traffic 🙄
you can’t compare the 340M I’ll take 340M over CT5 V
@@bimmerlife5452 Have you driven both? The CT5 has better chassis dynamics.
I pick the CT5 But both cars are Amazing! Great Video Sam!
Thank you
Your Welcome!
Sam CarLegion Does the CT4 and CT5 off Automatic Parking Assist?
Justin Smith I don’t believe so. I know the CT4-V didn’t have it.
Sam CarLegion Ok thanks!
Ct5 for me
Blackwing ;)
V8 has cylinder deactivation which will be a headache to deal with in the future. I'd probably choose the ct4 just because of that.
I got a kick out of a TV show that covered this caddy and on the same show they covered the new improved Civic Type R. When the Honda was praised for speed they did not point out that the Ct4 V was faster in their test. I think MotorWeek is not fair to their country’s industry.
Honda type r is overhyped and I am a former Type r product owner.I chose an 2020 AWD Stinger GT 3.3TT. The stinger was substantially faster then anything under 40k except a stripped down model of a camaro SS with RWD that could not hook up.I went to the track in my stinger and waas bumpred up to race american V8 muscle cars instead of the Golf r--type R--focus RS which were in my price range.I am dissapointed in the 60k plus AWD CTS-V--great car but it should have the 450 HP TT 3.6 and be able to outrun my stinger,I ran a 4.27 to 60 and 12.798 1/4 mile with no launch control at the track--Type R was over 13 and most american muscle cars were also a tad slower then my stinger in the "street tire division: The Honda Type r has the smae shortcoming of any 2wd car and it can not fully get its power down. An AWD CTS-V should beat a Type R.
The standard is and has always been to trash American vehicles. Call the interior bad while praising outdated designs from competitors, etc. Complain about plastic that even supercars have. Complain about parts bin stuff while even a Bugatti uses a VW chine. Also ignore or gloss over that American cars offer 1.5x the horsepower most of the time in their class for the same money. Nothing new to see here.
Black on Black! Only way to go.....waiting on Blackwing engine 👍
I love black on black, but such a motha to keep clean. Even after washing within 20 minutes it’s sullied :(
All Blacked out 👍
That's easy: there's a V6 in it, instead of a shitty truck engine
Great video but I’m still undecided between 4v and 5v. As far as exhaust sound, to me they’re both terrible since I currently drive a Scat Pack Challenger but want/need an AWD 4dr sedan. Rear legroom/price are non issues. Leaning towards 5v but I think 4v looks better. Wondering if 4v is more fun to drive than 5v.
It's funny how he started singing the praises of the CT5V but by the end was won over by the CT4V. I think the CT4 probably feels more agile and has the better transmission tuning, but CT5 has the more 'luxury car' feeling engine
I ordered a 5V 6 weeks ago. I think I'll be happy.@@motormusique
@@willardarmbruster8111 Very exciting, congratulations!
Honestly the black wing should be the only one considered as a V.
You should race them
The CT5 is the superior vehicle. I dont really like the CT4, it dont sound bad but ive heard better. Example of that would be the Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti.
Why Background is so Dark When You Speaking in Camera... Background Should b White And With Decorated With Some Colours Lights That Looks Cool Like a Studio Any Review was Awesome.... CT-5 is Better Option in Both
I like the black background so you can see the light and the screen. Also you focus on me instead of the stuff behind
@@SamCarLegion You are Right But if u See Other Studio Reviews They Make Background Very Light ful And Everything is Metter On Camera Background Also Dark Background With Of Light is Not Looks Good to me... Look At

Ct4 V handles better
Nope! The ATS/CT4 is the perfect size car. Just because it reminds me of my blue BMW E46 I had owned in my 20's. And no other car is offering this.
Exactly. The CT4 is lighter and more nimble and it’s got a sharper more aggressive look. The CT5 is a bloated 194 inch 4000 lb whale.
You didn't provide any answer for the title of your video. You should have said instead "IS The CT5-V better..." instead of click baiting.
58K eh? That's the fully loaded price of the G70 in Canada. The G70 is superior in every way except in track dynamics.
Is it just me or did CT4-V sound much better?...CT5-V had too much crackling and popping
Tinto Cherian really?
@@SamCarLegion more crackling and popping is needed! not less.
There is no turbocharged 4-banger in existence that ever manages to sound better than what it is
….not at all lol everything loves the pops
Because ct5 is bigger than ct4. The ct5 is better than ct4. Easy question.
Someone gets it.
3:06 near is not good, the worste cars in the world are only 60 percent to the front. Hellcats maybe 4 percent stuff like it too but 50 50 feels ALOTA different only some people can feel it i guess
