i just love when he tries to explain stuff about kratos because most people think he is as cool as they show in the games but he is actually not the important lmao
he's not 'not that important', he's just 'not', he doesn't exist, he was never a thing, he is made up by the game creators, there was a guy called kratos, but the game creators just took the name
@@orvvollyon Kratos was just a buff headstrong warrior
@@orvvollyon actually he was a dæmon and an embodiment of strength, actually he talks about this in another video
@@aaronof076 we all watched that video
yeah
Jake, dont you understand? By mentioning Kratos *even once* , by dripping even a single drop of blood into the ocean of gamers, you have activated their bloodlust and the sharks are now circling your boat. *They hunger for Kratos, Jake. Hey jake love your channel. On a side note, can you do Egyptian myth? I just think it would be interesting since they have pretty interesting stories and all
Do the Egyptian creation myth! It's hilarious in the fact that it's so inappropriate lol
Or the sex dwarf
How about the fact that Ra is both the son and father of Hathor?
@@thegloriousdipshit4274 in Greek myth after Zeus and his siblings defeat Cronus and an even worse creature(I don't remember what it's called) shows up then zeus's siblings fled to Egypt and became the Egyptian gods for awhile

Word has it that *that* is happening! ;)
I love Jake’s content, his take on mythology is amazing.
What about Kratos ties to the Egyptian mythology? After the Norse the creators said they want to go to Egypt next. What God will Kratos steal his role from? Can you theorize!?!?!?!?!
maybe montu the god of war in egypt
Or what about the three wise men? czcams.com/users/shortsI3mIxZpM3o8?feature=share
YES YES MAKE JAKE SUFFER, MAKE HIM ANSWER THIS
What about assassin's creed ties to mythology?
Bron stop it
I love that the first two patreons are Helios and Pluto
Well, now that you're doing conflated mythology, how about some coverage of the Roman Odin or some Greek child-Horus?
The roman Odin is Mercurey/Hermes.
@@jamessirot854 I can’t tell if this is a joke or not
@@Wdgsgg It's not.
@@jamessirot854 Odin is probably closest to Zeus/Jupiter, in the sense that they basically rule the world(s)
@@n00bxl71 I know why you would think that. But in ancient times, when Rome conquered people, they thought the conquered people's gods were the same as the Roman gods but with different names. They thought Odin was Mercury/Hermes because they are both tricksters and travel a lot.
for an actual video suggestion, maybe you could do the Norse story of Beowulf and the Grendel's, or the 12 labors if Heracles in Greek mythology.
I can see you trying to explain Odysseus and The Odyssey next time on Greek Mythology
Thank you for putting up with us jake we appreciate you!
My Norse mythology obsessed self: PEOPLE THOUGHT KRATOS WAS PART OF THE NORSE PANTHEON????????!
the worst part is that kratos has more games in greek mythology than norse
In the games, when he destroys Olympus he travels to Norse mythology, so I get their confusion
@@Bro-hx3eq a better explanation for their confusion is: the norse saga games are a LOT more popular and well known than the greek ones because they follow the exact same formula as every other AAA game on the market. Bla bla bla open world, bla bla bla cinematic cutscene, bla bla bla skill trees, bla bla bla play the game your own way
I’m 90% sure people are trolling.
more greek mythology now? love your animations!
In other words, it’s creative liberty in which they assumed Kratos moved to Scandinavia after the fall of the Greek pantheon and become known as Farbauti there. The end lol
Jake, Jake THANK YOU for always making myths so much more funny still messed up obviously but funny
You could have also mentioned that in Norse Mythology Loki has two brothers. One of them is Helblindi, who's name means 'hell blind', I think and the other is Býleistr who's name doesn't have a clear translation. In all fairness, they don't do anything in the mythology which is a shame.
the brothers of the guy who basically starts ragnarok and causes most stuff in norse mythology to happen not doing anything is kinda ironic.
A lot of it wasn’t written down, so that’s a shame
thought loki’s brothers were Baldur and Thor
@@clowdybluu that is the Marvel interpretation which great but it’s own thing.
Love your vids, Jake! So funny, creative and educational. What do you use to animate? Any tips for an aspiring animator?
Been a good wait
I actually love these videos
You should make a video about Typhon. I’d love to see it!
I can't wait for the next Norse mythology video
thanks for explaining love your vids plus god of war is my favorite game
I love these :D
This made my day
Glad to see I made it in the video
I saw this and thought
*I stopped Jojo for this, better be good*
And then realized, all of these videos are good
In the recent games during one of the side quests I remember someone calling him "vicious striker" after naming other titles Kratos was called
guys please-
I dont know how much more he can take...
wait wait wait, Kratos was in Egyptian mythology for a lil while
Faye, Kratos' wife is supposed to be Laufey in the GOW games, and Atreus was SUPPOSED to be named Loki, but Kratos was very adamant on Atreus. I think it's neat how they kept some character relations the same in the games compared to the original mythology, even if it isn't historically correct at all.
I liked your stuff already, but I subscribed because you show the correct feelings toward gamers:
disdain
I think jake shold do pygmalion and galatea. That story was gold and iconic.
Wow look at me being fancy and golden 😋
Nice video
Yay new video ☺️
Interesting note in the Games the Role is Reversed with Faye being a Giant and Kratos being "God of Hope, Death Destroyer of Worlds, Son of Zeus, still has Hades soul and literally murdered predestination"
Haha loves these, would love to see you do a hindu methology video although it would probably take you rest of your life
I'd like to see a video covering Magni and Modi, along with the little evidence s of Thrud
What's crazy is that Kratos running from the flood and going to Midgard was learned before it even came out. Not to mention, every other npc explains that he was not from Norse pantheon.
If they had to make another god of war game (god of war harderer) and you could choose which pantheon of gods would be included (besides Norse and Greek) which group would you pick? Are there other pantheons that are interesting that you found while getting your degree?
Speaking Of Mythological Being That Are Way Less Important Then People Make Them Out To Be, Could You Do A Video About Icarus Please? I'm Curious About How He Was As A Person, His Family, & If He's In Any Other Myths Aside From His Main One.
His father, Daedalus, is the creator of the Minotaur labyrinth. It's not exactly what you asked for but I think it's a cool concept he appears in more than one story.

Hey man are there going to be historical videos down the line? Such as explaining in a humorous way the buildup towards the middle ages?
The point was that they took a figure in Greek (and Norse) Methology that there wasn’t a lot on so they could play around and do their own stuff, pretty smart.
Can you do a video explaining Jesus and Christian mythology
yes please do my cristian friensds would apreciate thtaw
yeah
I'd try to refrain from using the word Mythology when talking about living religions, it's technically correct since the original definition of Myth doesn't imply it being false, but the modern one does.
@@KingsBard I'm sorry if I offended you the reason I used mythology was because of how Greek and Roman mythology were religions for the Greeks and Romans
@@ZBisson yeeeeeeessss I would LOVE that
Speaking of mythology, can you do Egyptian mythology next please.
Haha what about zageruas
Haha what about that one Beekeeping God from Greek mythology
Or a little scarab dude that represents the dawn from Egyptian mythology ooh or even the fire god from Japanese mythology. I don't remember how to spell his name. Or maybe you could talk about Maui's brothers or that one time Loki ate some evil woman's heart and gave birth to like all the troubles that ravaged humanity
cool part 2
Can you do a video about GOW's mythology?i think it would be your first video about fictionel mythology.
that is the fastest video from you I’ve ever seen
Kratos specially in the Greek saga of games takes the actions of a bunch of characters, Heracles (Hercules if you're slow) Typhon, Perseus and many more. He does the same in the norse saga up until now, so it's consistent.
Also he fights a minotaur when the only minotaur in greek mythology was the one theseus killed
Everyone: Asks about Kratos. Again.
Jake: Persona 4 music intensifies
Could the next one be about the 12 labors of Heracles
Nice vic
Can you Do the Odessy. I th8nk it would be so funny.
Can't wait for Sony Santa Monica Studios to see this video and immediately announce God of War: Book of the Dead, where Kratos kills all the Egyptian gods and sets Apophis loose upon the Earth.
Holy shit, I was just trying to make a joke. I didn't even realize that the GoW developers actually did express an interest in doing Egyptian mythology.
Can u make a long video of kratos in the norse realm which also includes atreus faye mimir freya odin thor baldur tyr etc
I heard from a friend of mine from sweden and has done a lot og research in mythology that farbeuti was a thunder jotnar
I think there's a theory that Fárbauti might be a kenning, or other name, for lightning. Lightning does strike viciously.
Pogers new video
I wanna know if you played any of the God of War games. Especially the 2018 one. And I'd love to hear your review on it especially your thoughts on the story. Since God of War Ragnarok is coming soon.
But wait! Kratos was a Spartan, you didn't mention the spartan's ties to the greek gods. I believe that we NEED a video about that!
You should do a video on ragnorak
it would be cool to tell the differences between the real stuff and what gow did in the games
People thinking Kratos came from the 2018 ‘God Of War’ Norse Reboot/sequel alone scares me…
Kratos was also in Egyptian mythology in his comics 😭
It’s stupid how people STILL don’t know Kartons isn’t actually in Norse mythology, and for the people who don’t know, he has never existed up until around 2018.
1:05 Did he just take photos of himself in front of a green screen :)) Very MatPst-y i like it
As a percy jackson fan (for video content) you. Can tell theseus and hercules.or you can tell atalanta or phaethon.like that things maybe daphne?
I wonder if there's a comment here somewhere pointing out that Laufey was a Jotunn in the video game and not Aesir
Thanks I didn’t know
Are you going to make videos about the Egyptian mythology?
Can u do a video about deimos and phobos?
i get that games and mythology are different stories but i am here for the jokes
I have a Kraos-related question to ask you that’s worth responding to: If Farbauti is the father of Loki, wouldn’t he also be the father of Odin? (Since Odin and Loki are blood-brothers?)
Odin's father is Borr.
Odin and Loki are not related, they're "blood brothers" because they mixed their blood together as part of a ritual. We don't know why they did this, but it can be assumed it's a big reason the Aesir put up with Loki for so long.
Oh neat, thanks!
I mean, yeah I hadn't made the connection yet that Kratos kinda stole Farbauti's role and made the role of being loki's 100x cooler, very nice.
LETS GO
Wait a second I'm pretty sure that kartos is in every mythology. You need make sure of that and post a hundred videos about kartos in different mythologys for me to be satisfied. From a CZcams comment
Imagine when he talks about Egyptian mythology he has to explain Kratos again
Really sucks that nothing about Farbauti has survived to this day, he seems pretty cool.
Thought it would have been funny in the end pause. He's just buried with a bunch of kratos questions.🤣
Can you still do Roman and Greek mythological same and different characters
Do the real angles and demons in hazbin hotel and helluva boss
Do explaining Egyptian mythology
God of war Egypt: **exists**
Everyone: where's kratos Egypt mythology
Can you talk about Koalemos in a video I would like if you did that
I ACTUALLY UNDERSTOOD THE FIRST ONE CAUSE I KNOW THAT GREEK MYTHOLOGY HAD AN ACTUAL KRATOS
BUUUT COULD YOU COVER THE STORY OF GOD OF WAR FROM THE GAME
slayed
Kratos was in Egyptian mythology for a comic once? So how does that fit in?
What about Kratos in Egyptian mythology
QUALITY CONTENT MMMM
Kratos ties to Egyptian mythology we want it
WOOOO
All this talk about Kratos, I'm interested if there's any worthwhile content to be made about Deimos, the Greek god of terror
and also, GoW Kratos had a brother named Deimos, which is why he came to mind
whats with GoW Kratos' parents naming their kids after semi-obscure Greek deities
Deimos has a brother named Phobos
Could you possibly please for research and then animate the story of Laevateinn The weapon of Loki
Can you do Egyptian mythology
me reading genuine Greek mythology: who’s Kratos?
This is pure content, c'mon ppl in the comments, smh. Weirdos.
Do you work for/with matpat frok game theorists channel your style of png stock image is pretty simmiler to him
compare the kratos from the game to both norse and greek mythology
you know we want it
