    So daemons are beings personifying abstract concepts and "words", like there would be one representing hunger or itchiness. Does that make Morpheus a daemon, he represents sleep.

      From what I gathered about their description (here and in other media) gods have power over what they represent, so (for example) Neptune can control the sea in some capacity, Hephaestus can invent and make stuff or give inspiration to people, etc. While daemons only represent what they embody, like a bodybuilder could represent someone who is the paragon of strength, but couldn't have the power to make other people stronger 🤔
      But that's only what I understood over the years, I could be wrong 🤷🏼‍♂️

      Morpheus is a god associated with sleep and dreams, but it's Hypnos who is the personification of sleep.
      There's many daemons (a type of god) who are personified ideas, like Ponos (toil), Apate (deceit), Geras (old age), Thanatos (death) etc. Most of the ones that are children or grandchildren of Nyx (night) are associated with negative aspects.

    For anyone interested in their biological relationship, read the following. So Kratos’s grandfather, was the giant named “Oceanus” as shown at 0:26. And Oceanus was the uncle of Zeus, (Cronos’s brother). Making Styx, Zeus’s cousin, and Styx had 4 children, (one of them being Kratos). Meaning Kratos is Zeus’s “first cousin once removed”. If you don’t know what that means… I don’t either, so go look it up.

      It's easier to just say "second" cousin and so forth (3rd, 4th, etc).
      If you want to mess with your mind, try looking up what a "double" cousin is (and triple, quadruple, etc). The countries where this is most prevalent are in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Saudi Arabia.

    As someone who has read Edith Hamilton and Robert Graves Greek Mythology books cover to cover several times as a kid, I couldn't for the life of me remember ever seeing Kratos mentioned anywhere when most of the lore was still fairly well archived in my head 20+ years ago.
    I can still remember the names of the 100 handed ones off the top of my head even now -Briarus, Cottus, Gyes (sometimes spelled Gyges too), but drew a huge blank on Kratos. I'm guessing the creators of the game just randomly chose a Greek name and happened to get lucky. Appears that Kratos is barely the equivalent of a Hollywood extra.

    I appreciate the video on Kratos even if he doesn't have that big of a role in Greek Mythology, I also appreciate seeing my Kratos comment in the intro

    I heard a story of Baldur waking up after ragnarok, does that mean ragnarok isnt the end of norse mythology, if so what happened after ragnarok

    • @MrRadoslav
      @MrRadoslav Před 2 lety +4

      Basically in ragnarok two people hides in igdrasil and the world resets

      But with new gods in charge, one of them possibly being the Christian one. Red from Overly Sarcastic Productions mentions this in one of her videos iirc

    • @chaserose5127
      @chaserose5127 Před 2 lety

      Basically, after Ragnarok, the world is prophecied to essentially be "reborn". It's similar to how in Christianity there will eventually come a day when all the faithful will vibe in Heaven forever.

    Hey Jake I just want to say great videos. And that you should do a Percy Jackson one explaining the Cabins and powers or the series. You are as funny as Leo from Percy Jackson. Also are you the son of Hephaestus, the God of fire, blacksmiths, and creativity. Keep up the good work.
