Thanks so much, I am 79 years old with COPD and I thinks this will really help me.
I have some rock areas as well. I noticed that smaller pebbles can even be sucked up, and you can hear them rattling around the impeller. If this happens, I just turn the dial off and let everything fall out (hold vertically so it falls out fast) and then turn it back on. Very simple. This blower really rocks! You should keep your leaves. Valuable resource, especially for building soil for a home garden. Which everyone should be doing.
Absolutely amazing review. Thank you for taking the time to demonstrate and offer bonus tips and advice. As a new and inexperienced home owner this video helped tremendously. Ordered mine few days ago, once things dry out I'll be at it.
Thanks for the compliments!!! Good luck, hope it works out well.
Bought one. Works great. Bought the system haven't tried out the vac yet. I grind the leaves up with my rider and they go back into the grass and dissolve
great review! excellent explanation of features + tips on how to properly use. thank you!
My dad got one of these years ago. It does ok for the most part with blowing. I say that due to limitations of the cord. On the vacuuming part, the machine is simply meh. It mulches alright for what it is on the reduction ratio. One thing that might make it better is if anyone buying one tries to keep up with the leaves falling instead of waiting.
Thanks for amazing information. I needed know how to setup for vacuuming my rock bed and yard! Thanks again 😊
Nice video. That long strip against the fence i would have gone down it with the mower with out the bag then the last pass with the bag. As the bag fills I empty it in my beds and spread it. In the spring it will be nice dark soil.
Good informative video. I appreciated your leaf collection tips and how to change from blower to vacuum.
Good to see how the cord thing works and how it works on rocks. I'm browsing because I saw my 83-year-old neighbor using one of these. She and I (70) have the same lawn guy who works through Nov to deal with the fall leaves here in Michigan. So, I asked her what she was doing. She says she uses the thing to collect leaf mulch for her flower beds, which are beautiful. As a new gardener, I had just recently asked the lawn guy to save the mulched leaves for me to use on my veggie beds. Now I plan to get one of these and see if I can do the Nov leaf gathering and get my own leaf mulch. Maybe I can save a month on my lawn bill too. Thanks for the review.
I have one of these for over 6-7 years. I have replaced the bag because the zipper tore maybe twice. But overall for the price it cannot be beat. Suction and blower works great. It does clog up rarely if you try to suck a bunch of leaves. Just turn it off and shake it free. I actually bought another one because we lost the suction tube after moving last year. I'll save the new one for drying my car after washing until original one breaks.
Thanks for the great feedback! I absolutely love mine too, makes cleanup a breeze.
Good review, I’m sold thanks
Thanks so much for the demo info; I will check for the leaf bag chute too at the local hardware store hoping they have it!
Thanks for this vid. I think I’m gonna pull the trigger on this. Just doesn’t look like battery technology is up to the task yet so it was either gas or corded and I’m trying to move away from gas on landscaping tools going forward just for the sake of eliminating maintenance more or less. Anyway thank you!
Awesome been using for a while never knew about the cord holder..
Bought one a year ago. Planning to use for the first time tomorrow. Hope it works this well for me.
I’m on my second of these. Each lasted a very long time. My current one runs great for about 10min then starts winding down so I shut it off quickly. It starts up at full speed the next day but does it again. That’s why I’m looking at reviews again. It look like they moved the zipper to the short side which is a good thing. Mine is in the side and it makes it hard to empty the bag into a paper leaf bag. That has been my only issue with it. Looks like I’ll be ordering another one!
Make sure you use a heavy enough cord. Thin guage cord can burn out a motor.
Great explanation! Thank you so much.
You're very welcome!
I have a Stihl blower I just needed something cheaper like this to pick up the piles
I am glad this guy like it. As far is the leaf blower goes or blowing some stuff around the yard great but the vacuum attachment is total Joke Completely worthless as well as the bag.
Please explain. I am going nuts trying to figure out the best blower/mulcher to get or if I should just get a blower by itself and just handle leaves the old fashioned way or use the lawnmower to mulch them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I like the Worx blower mulchers but their airspeed is simply too low.
Good tips !
I just got mine from a friend today. I have alot of acorns on my property I don't think that impeller would hold up against them if it will even pick them up. I'm hoping it'll blow them at least with the reducer nozzle
Typically acorns don't get picked up at all. You can dial down the suction to avoid that issue.
@nextleveldiy thanks for the response. I'm hoping it has enough power to blow them I have so many!!
Great unit. Get the worx leaf collection system and attach it to the toro. That will eliminate the bag.
Toro as their own leaf collection system too.
Nice review thanks
Excellent explaination. thank you so much
You are welcome!
My 1800 Rigid shop vac definitely sucks up rocks 2” or so diameter when picking up leaves.
This is not a shop vac, completely different concept.
I bought that replacement bag and the collar plastic piece was slightly too small. The fins inside the collar needed to be sanded down but I ended up returning bag. Any videos on a better bag replacement? I heard of better bag costing $100 plus!
I actually need a replacement bag myself, was going to go with an aftermarket?
@@nextleveldiyThe aftermarket bag is slightly smaller then the toro bag and the fabric is slightly thinner. The size and the fabric thickness can only be realized if you put them side by side and is very minor. There is also the problem of the fins inside the collar being too long or thick. If its a snug fit, you will have to sand down the fins slightly. You can buy a bag and point out the mod needed for those needing this mod. You also have the option of buying a toro bag without the collar for roughly the cost of the aftermarket bag. You can make a video on how to swap out the collar to the new toro bag.
Great video
How do the two extra noozles fix at the end of the main vacuum tube??? Could you explain that please?
Slide them in from the big end and pull them snug to the small end. The air pressure will help hold them in place.
how to prevent leaves from blocking the vacuum tube.
Go slow with big piles and make sure you are at full power. Use the heaviest cord possible so that the motor gets full power. Big oak leaves with big stems are usually the culprit.
Wondering how this vacuum would work on loose pieces of hay in the aisles of a horse barn that collects dust, dirt and hay ??
I would not recommend this. It will get caught in the impeller. Pine needles will sometimes cause issues and even the stems of large leaves.
thanks@@nextleveldiy
Can you vacuum and mulch pine needles?
you may want to be careful. make sure there is no sap and go slowly not to overwhelm the motor. I used it to suck up the stringy things from the oak trees and it worked well, just had to go slow.
Can I use it for sucking dust in boiler room?
Do not buy this product. Works fine on TINY piles but anything bigger than what you could hold in your hands, it is very limited. The cord, weight, and added awkwardness from the bag make a very inefficient combination. Great in theory, but not practical with the actual product.
What product would you recommend then?
They are all cumbersome and annoying in their own way. With a back pack blower you've got the exhaust fumes and engine noise in your ear so I guess it boils down to what annoys you most. They have a collection system versus the bag for bigger jobs he states that in the video
