  • Since it was very warm outside today, I tried to take advantage of the weather, and clean up some leaves. To do some I tried out our new Toro Ultra Electric Blower, Vacuum, and Mulcher, so I can give it a review. What to know what I thought about it, come join us, won't you?

Thanks for showing how easy it is to change from blower to vacuum. I misplaced my instructions and couldn't figure out for the life of me how to assemble the vacuum. I learned so much from watching CZcamsrs like yourself!!

The blue hook that comes with the blower is the cord storage hook that you put on the blower tube, and then you keep one end of the extension cord on the blower then you wrap the rest of the cord. Once you get to the other end of the extension cord then you tuck the male part of the plug under under the cord you wrapped

Bought mine through an online auction with no instruction manual. I thought I bought a dud because when I plugged it in it didn't start. After watching your video I attached the fan cover and the power came on! Thank you for sharing, I'm actually looking forward to cleaning each season of debris that falls from our Maple trees.

So, I ended up buying the Toro Ultra Electric Blower + Vacuum! It is lighter than the older Sears Vacuum that I had earlier. And the Sears vacuum had a plastic flywheel that wore down to almost nothing and was heavier than the Toro. I also like the way the bag fits on the Toro and the way it hangs from the blower/vacuum. I have used it 2 days in a row now and it does an excellent job at mulching the leaves. The bag is easy to open and dump from the bag as well! So, thanks again for the review and demo and I would definitely recommend the Toro blower/vacuum. Oh, and I'm a short man with short arms so it was a little difficult keeping my arm up in the air holding the handle so I just adjusted my hold and put my hand to just in front and under the handle.

I unboxed mine last night but have not used it yet. Thanks for the great review. Also, I read last night (yes I'm a nerd) in the instruction manual that the cord hooks and comes up through those cord clamps. That may help with the cord getting in the way. Thanks for your review!

Thanks for your review, as I'm contemplating purchasing the Worx WG510 or 509, and I'm looking for other models that might vacuum as good and for less money. The WG509 looks interesting to be able to convert to blower rather easily and doesn't mulch up the leaves as well as the WG510, which means less dust, which is why I stopped mulching leaves with a blower years ago. The mulching to a trash can option also looks interesting. I believe the GreenWorks is the only battery operated vac, and that's appealing as well as I loath using corded yard tools. It would be ok even if it did less of a job, as the vac is for only around my back porch area, where I can't get my gas blower to efficiently blow the leaves into the yard. Wouldn't it be nice if kids today actually knocked on your door to want to rake your leaves. But that being said, the last time I let three neighborhood kids rake my lawn, I lent them my blower for another yard and they never returned it and my motor cycle was stolen the next day. And I don't know if you've ever used a backpack blower, but I have a Stihl BR450c and it's a beast for blowing leaves and makes your Toro look like a toy. If I had to do it again, I'd probably go with a little lighter backpack blower. I have 3 acres and I don't rake leaves, I mulch them with my Z930M that I have a Advanced Chute installed that lets me mulch and blow the leaves. I do have two lawns I take care of the leaves on. One I bag and the other is the size of your yard and I just blow them into the woods in less than two hours, using my mower to also blow the piles when they get too big. When your ship comes in, you might want to invest in a Cyclone Rake and pay for it by doing the neighbors yards.

I bought the toro blower vac 2 yrs ago and really like it. I blow all my leaves to the middle of the lawn then mow them with my bagless rider mower. After that I blow them into a small circle and vacuum them up. That way I mulch them twice and that really reduces the leaves. After that I spread the mulched leaves on the garden. Hope that helps.

Just bought one here in the uk after watching this and several other reviews. I needed something long lasting and effective as my 1st vacuum was effective but packed up after 3 years. The next one packed up after 12 month and lots of jamming up every few minutes. The Toro is the business for sucking up wet or dry leaves and sticks/twigs without any blockage so far! (fingers crossed). But if it blocks, it will be so easy peesy to clear because of that strong clamp that releases and gives easy access to the blades. One thing missing from all reviews as we are solar/mains powered - is the power ratings:- at low speed it uses 450 watts at highest setting its 2750 watts. The lowest setting sucks up better than either of our defunct 3000 watt & 2700 watt machines ever did when they were new. This is a Built with American pride machine! Only wish we had a British equivalent. One other point - many claimed the blades were of steel - they are not, they are made from some grade of strong Aluminum - no stones have hit them yet. but I guess all vacuums will have the same challenge there !!Great video Paul & Kristen - thanks for sharing!

I have been using this ecetric Toro Leaf blower / vacuum. Works great but be prepared to keep fixing the leaf vacuum bag with needle and thread as it develops holes constantly. The replacement OEM bag is 29 dollars. Knock off bags are about 10 dollars but even more flimsier. Either way you'll become a great sewer using this product.

I had one of these about 25 years ago (can't remember what brand it was, but the machine was green). Its suction tube was much bigger in diameter than the one on the Toro. It worked well, but I remember how heavy that thing got as the bag got full. I'm now thinking about getting another one, but the weight bothers me. When I had the first one I was about 45. Now I'm 70, and have had back troubles over the years. I'm wondering if any of these are made with wheels.

IIRC, they have recent versions with metal impellers. You might already know considering this comment is 2 years old. I bought the Toro instead because it was ranked high by reviewers who compared models and advertises a much smaller mulch size. You will (almost?) always fit everything within 100' of an outlet inside one yard waste collection bag.

I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. czcams.com/users/postUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.

To be honest, I cant speak to the blowing power as I almost always use it as a vac/shredder. It is deffinitly powerful enough to do the leaves all around the yard. I'm sure a vac that cost 4 times as much is a lot better, but this is perfect for most general home owners.

I'm going to be honest, the blower portion of this is a bit light, but it gets the job done. I mainly use it for the vac/shredder (@90% of the time) and it does and amazing job. I've been super impressed with it.

I had the SAME issue. It's like...prepare for the dust storm. Every time I see someone do a review for this item, they look so clean after using the TORO. Like they walked out of the shower and look at me and are like, "what happened to you?". Maybe we just got a bad bag connection? I returned mine same day to Home Depot, but I was wondering if a hose clamp or a better bag could do the trick.

Mulching wet leaves does not put the machine to a true test. You should mulch dry leaves.

    • @TheRauschVlog
      @TheRauschVlog  Před 2 lety +1

Why mulching dry leaves is a great test to see how well the vac will shred them, and this one does awesome at it. Most people are concerned with the power the unit has. I've learned over the years that's best determined my the ability to pick up wet leaves and not get clogged.

Interesting. I bought one of these several years ago, hated it, and threw it in the shed. This week, I found the web enshrined tool and re-tried it. Yep, still an awkward piece of junk! 1). The cord is in the worst possible place so that the cord is usually under your feet, a trip hazard, 2) the strap is very abrasive, so if using in warm weather, it can quickly scratch your neck (awww, poor baby), 3) it is too heavy. Holding it upright becomes hard on your bulging disc, and 4) it is just AWKWARD to use, especially in tight places with that bulky, inflated bag! I can’t believe anyone at Toro thought this was a good idea! Nyet, comrade! 👎

Was about to buy one of these then I read the Consumer Reports performance review which was favorable however found a number of comments about the variable speed switch failing very quickly and there being no spare switches available from Toro. So basically the unit is probably going to last 2 years max during which time Toro will replace the entire unit. After that if it fails it's a throwaway. The CR comments are 3 years old now so so no idea if Toro has rectified the problem.

I bought this Toro Ultra Electric Blower-Vacumn-Mulcher and it wasn't worth my money. I still have a working Black and Decker BV2500 Type 5, and other than the blower attachment wearing out the BV2500 still run great. I have a new blower attachment on the way so I can say good bye to Toro.
