Their 1991 classic Stars was the best-selling album for two years running in Britain and Europe. I listen to Simply Red EVERY DAY!!! It's amazing how he still sounds just as good as he did back then. I prefer to listen to his live concerts rather than a studio album. His music is timeless and he doesn't get the accolades that he deserves here in the U.S. Now, if he would just do a U.S. concert tour, that would be awesome!!!
Did he never do a US tour? He gave up touring 10+ years ago to concentrate on family life... My impression is that the "backing band" was not always the same, and that would have taken a huge amount of Mick's time and energy whenever he toured.

From Canada, couldn't believe it when I visited Britain that people called Liverpoolians Scousers! lol! Had a great time visiting the Cavern drinking beer & remembering all the great bands that played there. Only wished I was old enough to have been there at the time. Thankful at least I got to see some amazing bands play after my child had grown. Still wish Led Zeppelin would do a concert but alas my records will be played.
