My Dad loved this song. He passed away many years ago. Random times like tonight, this song pops up. Whenever I hear it, I feel it’s my dad saying “hello I’m still here with you” ❤
Hello, how are you doing? It’s nice meeting you here. Thanks for your love and support❤🌺You have yourself a wonderful day ahead 🌺🌺🥰🎶🎵
One of the greatest voices the U.K ever produced.

When we were growing up, the artist didn't need 100 dancers and an elaborate stage design. Their instruments and vocals was all we needed.
Real musicians playing real instruments!
There’s no way this crowd knew how important this was. Literally one of the best performances of all time.
Agree with you 100 percent❤
Get over yourself tool -- Montreux is known long and far -- people GO TO MONTREUX for songs/musicians like this ... just because you didn't have a clue doesn't mean the rest of the world didn't. Not to mention ... this is right in the middle of when "Stars" blew up across the world. Pretty sure at Montreux knew what they were seeing and hearing.
So true.
you couldn't imagine in 2022 that the songs of the 1980s were so perfect. Emotionally have we achieved something stronger since then? Honestly I don't think so...
I think the 80s were the peak of music and lyrical creativity and now we're getting just remnants we need to start cloning these people.
I agree.
1970'S & 1980'S ARE ALWAYS PERFECT!!
To sing like that live is pure talent. His voice really cuts right through the mix.
Most Nasally singers do 🔥🔥
No computers to enhance his voice. No autotune to make him sound better. Just a microphone and pure skill. Powerhouse voice! No school like the old school. It will never be that legendary again. Now, we are stuck with this shitty no talent "woke" Era.

My eyes fill up with tears whenever I hear this beautiful classic. We were so blessed to grow up in a time when music still came from the soul and memories were stored in your mind and not on a phone.
I agree with you, I have such a quiet, calm memory of listening to this song when it first came out, I took a bike ride by myself and went down to the St.Croix river and I had my headphones on and I just sat in the grass watching the boats and thinking this song is my life. So blessed to have that memory still to this day!

When I was fifteen, Simply Red were my great passion, especially this worderful man. Now I am 56, and I am still here.
Exactly the same here - 56 year old woman. Irony is, although I loved the song in my youth - and have the hearing loss to prove it, playing as I did at top volume over and over again on my Walkman - I lacked the depth of maturity to even understand it. I appreciate it all the more now.
OH MY GOSH!!!! I WAS THERE!! Right in the front row!! Wonderful show!!
Wow! Que maravilloso 😊
I can’t believe he wrote this at age 17, truly a masterpiece.
Its the story of his mother (Mater) who left him and his dad when he was very young. Most of his early songs are very sad and about that experience.

Mick Hucknall 's voice is just a pure as it was 20 years ago! BEAUTIFUL & SOULFUL
What a fantastic performer this man is. Nobody else sounds just as good live as they do in their studio cuts as him, too.
Agree.. but, of course, this was 30 years ago!
Absolutely true, seen him unplugged too.
He does sound good, but 'nobody? Really, I have to disagree.....besides, this is only about six years after the original release date. And, as a retired professional drummer from L.A., I have heard bands live versions of songs that sound MUCH better than their own studio version.

Got to bring something like ‘woke’ into it. Ridiculous. Look up the actual meaning.
He has a good voice. This is my era. Also you don’t know what the rules are (no phones?).
There are plenty of people with good singing voices about because that’s being human and generations get their own music. I don’t pay attention to the music of today for the most part because I have enough to listen to from my collection that I’m happy with but if I come across something I like I will play it. Muse for instance.
Today though, human beings like equality. I actually get paid the same as a man doing the same job as me these days. People of colour have, or should have the same rights as every other human being. It’s not difficult.
Possibly the most underrated singer of all time. Doesn't get the credit or recognition he deserves. Quite simply the best.

Has he ever performed in the in the United States? I live in Michigan & want to see him in concert here in the States!
Betsy Washburn yes, he's performed a few times in the USA. Unfortunately, they don't usually get much press which is why you should follow on their social media.
He has a 2022 tour planned. Get in there!
Finally someone sings a live version that is more beautiful than the original studio version.
Bitter Sweet song for me. My late wife was in Her last stages type 4 cancer when this song was popular. Back in the day after she passed this song would bring up a lot of sad memories. But with time healing comes. When I hear it now I am remember the pleasant memories. S/Red thank you for your awesome song. Good music will endure through all the seasons of life.
