    Lyrics
    Holding back the years
Thinking of the fear I've had so long
    When somebody hears
Listen to the fear that's gone
Strangled by the wishes of pater
Hoping for the arms of mater
Get to me the sooner or later, oh
    Holding back the years
Chance for me to escape from all I know
    Holding back the tears
    'Cause nothing here has grown
    I've wasted all my tears
    Wasted all those years
Nothing had the chance to be good
    Nothing ever could, yeah, oh
    I'll keep holding on
    I'll keep holding on
    I'll keep holding on
I'll keep holding on, so tight
    Alright, oh now
Well, I've wasted all my tears
    Wasted all of those years
And nothing had the chance to be good
'Cause nothing ever could, oh yeah
    Oh
    I'll keep holding on
    I'll keep holding on
    I'll keep holding on
    I'll keep holding on
    Holding
    Holding
    Holding
    Holding, la-la-la, la, la-la
    I said, ooh, yeah
    That's all I have today
It's all I have to say
Simply Red have over a billion hits on CZcams, have sold over 60 million albums worldwide, 5 going to number one in the UK. Dear Karyn ... Life is deeper than any challenge. Do not ever give up, never. The challenge is just a test of your persistence, will, faith. I do Yoga therapy with people who have various mental challenges and the results are great. If I can help you in any way, leave a message ... an e-mail address and I'll send you a program I'm doing with people here in England. Of course, everything is free. I don't sell anything....

    To my adored son;
Losing you took the roar out of my lion heart, the sun out of my sky...I am not capable of understanding why you were taken away so young, I cannot express to the universe enough how meaningful, amazing and good you were, now everyday is cruel...it’s brutal, your absence is like an elephant on my chest...I miss you, Oh god, I miss you so much!
I have accepted life gets no better than the 20 amazing years, I was blessed with you. I promise to honor your life and one day sweet boy, I will hold you again...I know you are with me because I wouldn’t still be here if you weren’t. Lifetimes of Love...Mom💔

:-P "Who gives a fuck about a goddamn Grammy?" - Public Enemy. They have a point (music industry is corrupt and conformist, not revolutionary). Yet YOU have a point, too, as does the song. :-) I wish for a world where the popular culture ups its game again, to reflect GOOD ART (meaningful, spiritual-level art). Not this worthless, destructive materialism and fear. Mid-late 1990s was a peak in some senses. The 1980s had some great artists, too. In ALL genres (I like a lot of metal, for example and Metallica in the 1980s were a popular force, of the people, for the people, telling it how it was and not corrupt - then came MTV in 1989). Things have gotten bad since 2000s. 9/11 has a lot to answer for in making people conformist due to fear and surveillance (which is why the powers that be did it - to force negative change, the despicable fuckers). Good art is revolutionary in the face of that negativity.

childhood abandonment takes on so many forms when parents are so caught up in their own stuff to notice their child's lonliness just for a hug, kiss or little conversation. everyone gets different meanings out of all songs, i know, but i just wanted to share what i thought these lyrics and video were saying. like the mom looking at old pictures, reminiscing, not even knowing her precious little boy was crawling around her chair, under the table and all around hoping maybe she might catch him out of the corner of her eye and find him more important than old pictures. just an impression. parental childhood abandonment sucks whether physical or mental, though, for sure, and sadly, often is unintended. After all, they are caught up in their 'own' stuff, so, much they don't notice the child's heart breaking for some positive attention. soulful melancholia captured musically. we need a lot more music like this coming out because there is a lot of it about ~melancholia. Peace Love and Light

+Foggy Ozarks Robin Next to food, clothing, and shelter self-esteem is our most precious commodity. It is called the "Master Sentiment of Self-Regard". But at some point in our lives, we decide to make the decision to become parents to ourselves. I started to make changes when I learned that I was the product of those who had loved me and those who have refused to love me and I picked up my values as I went through life. I then began to make peace with those shadows, i.e, anger, loneliness, fear, etc. Be well

Not a knock on you, but this is one of the reasons I HATE music videos. They implant a story and don't allow the brain as much room to grow and create its own "feel" or vision where the music takes them. I mean, you've done better than most at appreciating the song/video, but what 'story' do you think the music might have sent you without the prompts?

    Holding back the years
Thinking of the fear I've had so long
    When somebody hears
Listen to the fear that's gone
Strangled by the wishes of pater
Hoping for the arms of mater
Get to me the sooner or later
    Holding back the tears
Chance for me to escape from all I know
    Holding back the tears
    'Cause nothing here has grown
    I've wasted all my tears
    Wasted all those years
Nothing had the chance to be good
    Nothing ever could, yeah
    I'll keep holding on
    I'll keep holding on
    I'll keep holding on
I'll keep holding on, so tight
Well I've wasted all my tears
    Wasted all of those years
And nothing had the chance to be good
    'Cause nothing ever could
    I'll keep holding on
    I'll keep holding on
    I'll keep holding on
    I'll keep holding on
    Holding
    Holding
    Holding
    Holding
    I said
    It's all I have today
It's all I have to say
