I'm not his biggest fan, but i 100% agree. His performance is exceptional. Replicating The Stylistics is one thing, doing so at the top of his range, at his age, instead of an easier falsetto is startling as he nails it... you're absolutely bang on.
This is such a good performance. I may have seen two or three artists that come close but besides that no artist, especially his age can touch this.

It made me think he was lip syncing coz it really sounds like the studio. Boy what an artist.
The Stylistics used to sing this song nicely. However, the high notes were sung using a falsetto voice, which is not so hard as it seems. Don't get me wrong. Probably they thought using falsetto was just nicer. The Simply Red cover, on the other hand, doesn't change the vocal range from the beginning and he's able to reach the high notes perfectly, live and at his age. It's just phenomenal.

But they're both great. Not too many singers hold up for decades, but I wouldn't be surprised if Adele does. Time will tell. :)
