There is NOTHING like Maurice White. He was authentic. Such a talent!
Nothing replaces the singers of old, Al Green, Smokey Robinson, Eddie Kendricks, King Floyd, Teddy Pendergrass, Carl Carlton
Sorry although respectfully agree, we still have the great legend Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight, Take 6, Bruno Mars, Mariah Carey, Chaka Khan, Justin Timberlake etc@@MrScrubby55
Anyone here in 2024? Earth, Wind and Fire are the best.
Nah, I'm still in 1979 vibing to this masterpiece.

I've lost my wife, house, job of 38 years, and have cancer🛐🛐. I sit alone in a small apartment as I listen to this song but I have not lost Jesus. Thank you Jesus. Please love and hug someone today. You are loved by God. God bless you sweet one.🎼🎼
Music will help you enjoy what you still have. I listen everyday and it helps me, I'm 70.
You are missed Maurice! The heart of EWF
How could anything be this good? They must have rehearsed 23 hours a day! RIP Maurice White.
My thoughts exactly. So impressive and perfect for a live version.
Natural harmonizing. You either can do it..or you cannot.
Maurice White had one of the greatest singing voices of all time.
Rest In Peace.
My dear I get so upset I never saw him and them together. This is part of celestial music. My heart soars.

he sang his heart out...sexy and more...music is lifè
He is definitely one that gave and gave some more

Yes he certainly was, but please don't forget Phillip Bailey, that unbelievable horn section and of course that awesome bassist, great call on this one buddy, my best wishes to you and your family...
Aww.. that is sad.. I never knew. RIP. This is a beautiful song, one of my very favourite bands of all time. They are the epitome of the 1970s, I have so many beautiful memories, thank you Earth, Wind and Fire.
You know, nobody has ever really been able to continue their legacy. There is nothing like this out there today. When Maurice left us, a whole generation of music lovers had to put a bookmark in their lives. We could sure use another R&B/Soul/Funk experience like this again.
True dat.
I remember where I was when I found Maurice had passed.
Anderson .Paak, Bruno Mars, and Silk Sonic
I sure miss Maurice White. Such a wonderful man we lost.😢
Hello, I am a 16 year old girl who came across this video on my CZcams recommendations and I fell it love with it within my first watch. The feeling I got when watching this video was indescribable. It was so magical, powerful, and moving that it brought me to tears. I may not know much about this man, or this band, but I realize why so many people respect them and still keep coming back to this timeless masterpiece. I could never find something this moving in music today, and it saddens me. This right here, is real music. These people had a deep passion and love for music, and it clearly shows. Artists today don’t care about music. They only care about the fame.
WoW! You wrote it’s indescribable: I disagree on that. You described it perfectly. It gave me goosebumps. And you absolutely right!” Thank you for that.
You are a wonderfully expressive and astute writer. You write with a pleasant blend of both emotion and acumen. It is a gift that I hope that you culture as it wouldn't surprise me to learn that you have a lot to say. If EWF is not a national treasure then I do not know what might be. This music is from a magical time, musically, socially, culturally. The men, the music, the words, the magic. The examples these men set contributed to the personal growth of a generation of young people. We are getting on in years now, but....If you listen to the music intently you can feel the strength of a previous generation lifting you to new horizons just as we did with one another at the time. Try it. The energy is there, I promise.
I would love to see them in concert but without Maurice White it just wouldn’t be the same. Great comment young lady. :-)
i can only agree. 17 and love this music.
It's wonderful that someone of this generation appreciates the music of the 70s, 80s. Those years I had back then were the happiest I had ... there is too much hate now .... we need music and joy! After hearing your words, there is still hope yet for the next generation.
I know I’m old, but they just don’t make music like this anymore. This friends is REAL MUSIC!
Ur not old, U just have Great taste in Great Music.!👍👌
For real! The best. I've been listening to them since the '60's. I'm 72 years old now and still listen to them as well as Blood, Sweat and Tears. Great years.

I’m 63, my every morning was starting with this song back in my hometown Baku, Azerbaijan! ❤️
The collaboration of David Foster and EW&F has created a never to be forgotten song and recording. So wonderful and so moving.
Earth, Wind and Fire is a national treasure, and Maurice White was a veritable genius. One of the greatest gifts my wife and I gave to our kids was to take them at age six and four to an Earth, Wind and Fire concert on the Seattle waterfront on a gorgeous summer evening. Their music had such appeal and their presentation was so fascinating that even kids that young could enjoy it. When they played September, the entire audience started dancing; the joyous memory of dancing with my four year old daughter will stay with me forever.
Rod Doe they truly bought ppl together to dance and enjoy their music!!!! Also that was a great gift you and your wife gave your children! I’m sure it will forever live on in their memories!
As much great music as there was in the 70’s, there would be a big hole if we hadn’t had Earth Wind and Fire.
My husband and I took our son at 15 and, at that time, he had quite a few years of trumpet lessons under his belt, so he went to learn from the masterful EWF horn section. He was the only teen there but his musical taste is sophisticated enough to easily recognize excellent musicianship. He was the only person under 18 in that place!
Without Maurice it will never be the same. He was Earth, wind and fire !
I agree
I'm a 90's Asian kid and this song is my ultimate favorite of all time. Thank you for the music!

The man can sing live just as good as recorded, a rare thing.
What about Michael?
Hesounds almost the same live as his studio vocals…
But I agree with you 100 percent
Depression : 0
Hapiness : 1
This is what we're all missing.. SOUL.
Well I don't know, bro. This song feels such depressed to me
mmm...I don't think it's depression you're feeling. I think it's nostalgia for a time that we didn't experience but which we perceive as better than ours.
"Something happened along the way. Yesterday is all we had................." I had the pleasure of seeing EWF in concert in the late 80s. It was one of the best concerts I have ever experienced. Times, culture, and music 🎶 were magical back in that era. I truly missed those days but do not think too much about it.
THE GREATEST BAND EVER!

Gabriel - you may be young, but you have an 'old' soul. Your love for EWF, and the time in which it was produced(1970s), may well be a sign that you actually lived back then, but as another person. Of course, most people in our part of the world don't believe in reincarnation, but there are more who do everywhere else on the planet.

I'm sure now that Maurice White had come from an upper subtle plane to greet us. He'd come to pave the way for us.
I saw these guys live in Allentown, Pa. at the Allentown Fairgrounds back in 1973. They weren't very well known, if at all, but in 1975 (?) their popularity took off and they never looked back. They played first. EWF had a really good sax player. He could have been Ronnie Laws. Then came ZZ Top then Uriah Heep was top billing. EWF wore purple jump suits at that concert. Like I said, they were good.

The Band could sing an elementary school’s attendance list and we all would just tap our feet or sway to whatever they’d play. That’s a gift 🎁.
Who else agree that EWF was in a class by themselves and was way ahead of their time

Me,I am 91 years old.........Love the music.
I don't think ahead of their time...we seem to push that when a act does their performance so well. Look how many generations they have been performing through. They have reached perfection of their performance. We may not ever experience a group like this again because music is not being played anymore...it is electrified. So to find a group like this again major talent in musicians, singing at its finest.....I don't think it will happen again. So they got here at the right time!
@@deborahpatton2789 not way ahead of their time for 2021...but ABSOLUTELY ahead of their time for the 70's. Nobody was making music like EW&F in the 70's.
