Drove for a small limo company in LA in early 80s. Had a call in AM to rest all day and pick-up Earth Wind and Fire at 5P in Beverly Hills taking them to the Forum. Maurice sat up front with me. Immediately liked them...When we got to Forum and through the tunnel near dressing rooms they invited me to watch rehearsal. By concert time they arranged a very good seat...Afterwards they wanted to go to a special restaurant they knew about. I was invited to have dinner with them. A truly magical evening with very special men..Thank you Earth Wind and Fire🌠. The special energy still resonates.
Yes! Never again will there be another band leader as Maurice White. Led with creativity and charisma! Gratitude to God for allowing me to be live during the true Golden Age of R&B!
Went to college with Maurice White at the Chgo. Conservatory of Music and hung out with the group in the late 1970's. Their music is an inspiration that will live eternal.
Wow...these brothers were and still are the Platnium standard. With so many groups in the 70s and 80s, with all respect to the others, they just seemed to be on another level and the fact that they are still playing today is testament to that.

Maurice and EWF brought people, music, love, friendship and so much more together in happiness. What we need today is that kind of love, joy, and spirit again. This music will go on forever because they're classics and proven fabulous. You know, in all these years, this groups hasn't gotten a bad name, been involved in violence, worn sloppy pants with underwear handing out, gotten tatooes all over them, pierced their body parts. When a group of professional and true artists come together, they know they're good and they are all about the music. They keep their private lives private and you never hear about them being in any rehab clinics. They're great!
