I used to have terrible oral health. My dentist now reports “you have the gums of a healthy teenager”
By following this routine and sticking to a Blueprint diet, my mouth is the healthiest it’s ever been in my adult life.
Hi Bryan, why is fluoride in toothpaste bad / should be avoided?
@@APMATT I brushed a long time without fluoride, it's a bad idea. Also most floss string contain PFAS. Extra tip is chew xylitol gum, it creates saliva and helps the teeth.
🧠🪥 Simulate your brain by brushing with your left hand Bryan
did you stop with the tea tree oil?
Thank you for everything you do bro
Before I really knew who Bryan Johnson was, the media made him seem like some wacko who wanted to live forever, but as I explored it further, I realize now he's just a guy who wants to give out good health advice and help people. He's really cool.
Love his information slowly digesting the info and implementing what I can. This is revolutionary for real.
This was my experience too. Media represents him as weird or crazy, but he’s just pushing for good health and making it accessible. Love the mission
They have to, or no one will listen to what they say.
Funny how media tend to hate on people trying to help...
Yes
I’m a dentist and I 100% agree with all your recommendations. It’s very rare that I say that, but anyone following this advice will improve their oral health.
Even the toothpaste without fluoride?
Fair enough. I do recommend fluoride. It’s a very hard thing to filter out so most likely the general population will have some fluoride in their diet, either from bottled beverages or municipal water. It may be shocking to say, but if people follow his recommendations, and skip fluoride, they likely still will see benefits. It is about balancing the bad bacteria that causes caries. Fluoride isn’t the only way to do it… it’s just an easy way to do it. It strengthens enamel and promotes favorable bacteria.
@@maddieBal I think he uses fluoride too?! From the website: “All Sensodyne products contain fluoride, which helps fight against cavities.”
You must be the 1/5 dentists that really thinks about recommendations before giving them. Kudos, thanks for valuing the power of the review
@@Andre-Naderfluoride will calcify your pineal gland. Avoid.
This guy does NOT deserve the negative publicity he gets. He's just a cool person trying to help others. Keep it up, Bryan.

Yea the way the media portrays him is the opposite of how he really is.
As a dentist you also belive flouride os good lol
@randomstranger8326
Fluoride is safe and good for you in the amount given in toothpaste and water.
But he doesn’t have fluoride in his toothpaste!

No need to share your kinks with us. There may be children reading. 💀
As a dental hygienist, I agree with this routine. I would only switch the order of flossing and brushing first, then use Waterpik because you need to loosen up plaque by brushing and flossing and then flush the remaining plaque out with Waterpik. Extremely important information about bruxism since MANY people don’t know they clench/grind.
but what should go first in your optionon. Floss then brush or otherwise?
I'm curious why you recommend not using fluoride - I thought dentists recommended it?
It’s a brain toxin. Look it up.
@@angelbrightjp Fluoride is a toxin I wouldn't recommend.
@@games4us132 I think i read it should be floss then brush. Floss will loosen and take out bad stuff then brush cleans it up
Dental hygienist here. Stop using your electric toothbrush like a manual one! Just hold it at the gumline for a few seconds before moving on to the next area. No need to scrub back and forth as it causes gum recession.
Thanks for the tip! Maybe my 10 yo is doing ot right after all. 😂
Hmm thanks
I am using an ultrasound toothbrush - much better imho
You are a brave one Bryan. You remind me of my oldest son. He fights depression valiantly, climbed mountains, sailed the Atlantic in a small boat with crew of three, did wilderness trainings that were so scary to me. He was in the USAF and deployed twice during Iraq war. Two divorces. Both were tragic. But he looks almost as young as you do at 53! Has always eaten carefully, though tends to get radical. Teeth are great so far. Red head. Skin as white as snow. Lol. We used to tease him and tell him to put long pants on because his legs were blinding us.😂 Keep sharing your amazing life with us. I only started flossing properly when I paid for Invisalign in my 20s and boy do you miss a lot of food in between the teeth after brushing! Mouthwash will NOT suffice either, make sure you guys floss. Anyone with erupted wisdom teeth, I recommend you get a water flosser, especially if you notice your breath starts to smell despite brushing.
40% of your teeth don’t get hit when you brush…
Flossing sucks but it’s super helpful.
Never was into it in my youth, luckily I didn’t have any problems
hey what do you mean by erupted wisdom teeth?
On your boat, started really caring for teeth after Invisalign
I must say that water pressure flossing seems to be working. As studies shows that depending on how you floss you still have a lot of potential bacteria. Actually it’s more important to focus on good brushing that flossing
@TreCayUltimateLife the wisdom tooth is the third molar. Often times when it erupts it doesn't do it properly so that part of the gingiva is on top of it so that food, bacteria and pus can accumulate there. This is why he is talking about water picking, cuz that way you can clean that area. Ideally though you would just extract the tooth
Thank you for these videos Bryan. My health has been in a really bad place after a long run of drinking. I've quit and I am starting back on the track. My health sucks right now, but these videos give me motivation to keep pushing hard and get it back where it needs to be.
Good luck on your journey mate. You are not alone. Keep up the work :)
Dude, I did the same thing. My dog died due to "gross veterinary negligence and malpractice" (currently suing them) ... anyway - I started drinking pretty heavily. Like - I was putting down a half-gallon a day. Kept that up for almost two years. My blood pressure went through the roof, I gained nearly 40 lbs - it was horrible. I started going to the gym (and yes, I was going drunk ... but at least I was going), started eating raw fruits & veggies with fish/chicken/meat, and after a while, the drinking started to fade into the background. I had a few drinks recently and it was not even close to enjoyable. The alcohol did its job - I wrapped my mourning up - started taking better care of myself - one day I just didn't want to drink anymore. Three months later I was rockin' a sixpack, put on some muscle and tone, and my blood pressure came down from about 140/95 to around 110/70.
The drinking definitely had some lasting effects though. If I eat too much salt or have any sugar my blood pressure rockets right back up for about a day. But I don't do that too often.
Anyway - danix0001 is right. You're not alone. Just keep at it man. I'm living proof that it's possible. You got this!
PS - if you need to talk or anything like that, message me on my channel - or go to one of the websites listed on my channel and shoot an email my way. You can do it! I mean, I did it and I'm nothing special. You CAN do it.
Love and blessings to you ❤❤❤
@@BlackbodyEconomicswow mate that's awful what you went through 😢 so glad you are on the right track again. Life can be very difficult and sad .😢 lots of love to you ❤ stay strong ❤
I really appreciate this video. I’ve been in a very complex and difficult stage of grief for the last 2 years, whereby I was on ‘autopilot’ (caring for the kids well, doing the minimum for myself and often less so). I don’t think I even looked at my teeth for the best part of those 2 years, let alone cleaned them or visited a dentist. I’m now ready to face any damage I have done to my oral health and pick up a new regime. I purchased an electric toothbrush, replacement heads, waterpick, dental floss, mouthwash and some other bits to gently ease away build up. Surprisingly, my mouth looks ok (at least by sight alone). Gums were bleeding easily, but I’m on week 2 of my new oral health lifestyle and they are bleeding significantly less and look much better already. I am looking forward to your video to see if I’m missing out on any other important pointers, thank you in advance.
*How is it going?*
@@haza123b4 I must be honest, I still have days where I don’t do the full routine twice a day, learning to take care of myself again is progress in the making. However, most days I’m on top of it and it’s going fab! My gums are hardly bleeding if even at all, whereas before they would bleed even when I ate food. Cosmetically, I think (I hope) I’ve caught it in time, as my teeth still “look” fine. I’m actually enjoying the process of it all, so we are still going strong but with room for improvement. Something I never had thought of or had anticipated was the confidence it has given me, I used to be afraid to talk to people close up incase my breath was bad or they saw gross stuff on my teeth. Now, I’m not afraid to smile widely and naturally, I’m confident to speak to people, kiss my husband again, and hug my friends. Life is great. Thank you so much for asking, that’s a very kind comment.
I implore you to check out the work of Dr. Ellie Phillips. You need to address the acidic environment of your mouth. I've been using her complete mouth care system for 6 weeks now and my teeth have never felt cleaner, stronger or brighter. Xylitol mints or crystals are essential. Must be pure with no glycerine. Grief and stress actually contribute to an acidic mouth.
i love how u adressed bruxism. I had such worries about it and the fact that i wear a night guard. Great to hear there are ways to help

Thanks for all you do Bryan! We love you :)
As a dentist I agree with everything said except for the tongue scraping ,
you can scrape it from time to time but if done too often it will cause overgrowth of the papillae on the surface of the tongue hence collecting more microbes and bacteria
I was searching for this comment. I think scientific studies also tend to find more cancer in tongue scraping people.
Right when I felt like my oral care habits weren’t at the level I wanted them this video shows up, love your work Bryan!!
@BryanJohnson can you please explain why you use fluoride-free toothpaste? All the dentists and the ADA recommend toothpaste with fluoride
Commenting to boost this comment. Because I also was under the impression that Fluoride was essential to oral health.
fluorides are important if you have a high score of risk of cavities (bad brushing technique, lots of sugar in your diet, a past of cavities, hyposalivation). if you dont have any of these issues then you can be without fluorides but you will increase your risk of cavities cause fluorides biochemicaly help in the prevention of demineralizarion and help in the remineralization if you have active dental plaque
Fluoride is great for preventing tooth decay. He mentioned Xylitol, thats great too & it’s in some brands of gum. So if you like to chew gum, make sure it’s sugar free and contains xylitol.
then why would he willingly not choose to have a fluoride toothpaste if it means it helps in further cavity prevention?
@@explorerOfToday Because it's a neurotoxin. Risk/rewars ratio not worth it. Just read about it effects on the body.

Later in 2024 I had to get a root canal because the pain was unbearable and the tooth wasn't improving. I would like to know how you came to the conclusion of using non-fluoride
It depends on the kind of non fluoride toothpaste, many are terrible but I've found Dr bronners is a good one, a lot of non fluoride toothpaste just contains nothing at all that does anything for your teeth
I think it’s because he eats basically 0 sugar and drinks nothing acidic, so he can afford not needing the fluoride

I already drink warm water with sea salt in the morning and its being so good! Everytime a

Salt water has been a classic thing since forever. Not just rinse the mouth but to gurgle as well for throat health and to suck up and “sneeze” out for sinus health. Also good for scalp along with vineagar.
After doing teeth care a bit of gurgling coconut out around the mouth is also good to reduce inflammation

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us Bryan.
I have a similar dental routine as Bryan and also had some real gum issues that I resolved very quickly with this routine.
A couple adds:
1) for water pik, its much better to use one of the one’s that sits on the counter because it simply holds more water. With the small portable one that Bryan uses, you constantly have to refill it. Also, use warm or hot water, because otherwise a bit of a shock to the gums.
2) with regard to electric toothbrushes, get one that times how long you do each section. This was a game changer for me in that I thought I was brushing long enough but with a timed brushing, it was pretty clear that I wasn’t brushing each section nearly long enough.
3) I use a dental tool (same as the one my dentist uses when doing cleanings and avail on amazon for $20) every week or so. I just gently pick at my teeth with the tool and can feel small chunks of plaque come off and just throw them away. Otherwise, the plaque literally lodges itself in your teeth and gum line and is what causes your gums to seriously deteriorate. Why wait months to get a cleaning when you can do this yourself more regularly. Last few times I went in for a cleaning they were shocked how little plaque I had….almost none!
4) get more frequent cleanings. It’s no longer OK just to do the once a year cleaning. I do it every 3-4 months now.
I love these videos, the different tried and tested methods etc
Very Interesting.

Yo Brian.. you need to change your electric toothbrush for a one that works by vibration instead of the one you're using which rubs your teeth doing a mechanical movement.
The mechanical rubbing wears your enamel faster since it's harsher.

I recently drank Coke Zero by the liter for almost two weeks straight during vacation (I usually never do) and started to get tooth pain. I was wondering whether this was due to my enamel being eroded by the Coke Zero. I will get this checked by my doctor ASAP - thank you for spreading awareness for these important and impactful health tips, Bryan!
There is a reason why you can use Coke to clean up pipes 😂
Always rinse with water after drinking a fizzy drink, its mild acid, Darwin _:)
Coke is extremely acidic
Luckily, I don't like Coke nor Pepsi. I'm sure Sprite and Fanta aren't helpful either, but I'm trying my best, man. Especially with this deadly and painful disease I was born with. Doesn't help the fact that headaches and storms make my brain process things much slower >:( I mean, my brain processes things faster than AI usually, but those two things and waking up tired and being constantly tired because of the disease itself and meds is not helping me. I even forget about the most important things I need to do to keep myself alive and well, and it just so happens that I forget my teeth more than anything else as if my body is stuck in the era where we had nothing but the animals around us for food and no cleaning 😭 Seriously... I can't use lotions because they make my skin sensitive and all six senses are already pretty sensitive so I don't need that despite the fact that my legs will always be ashy if I don't find something better than Vaseline... Even Dove's products make me itchy since I'm technically allergic to pork(yes they use pork in their soaps. They use pork, chicken and corn like it's the salt of the earth 🤢). It's like I'm a woman with male skin and I hate it honestly. I don't like my skin being so utterly dry like it was when I wasn't using lotion cause I couldn't find anything that worked with being a problem and now it's gonna be that way again because of how stupidly dangerous humans are. All of those chemicals we don't need and the unnecessary lies that will only hurt those that make said lies and those that believe it and those that get forced into it. I'm sure we can find something purely made out of plants to put on our bodies instead OF FKING ANIMAL FAT! I love eating certain animals don't get me wrong, but it's putting it on our bodies that seems like it would do more harm ON us instead of when ingested...
What if rocks also have feelings like plants do?🤔🤔🤔 Sorry, I'm more curious than a cat but at least I know when to run, hide and kill if necessary and plausible... Even in the times I don't, the universe is there to make sure I don't die despite the fact I very much want to because anything in this world is not worth it for as long as I have this disease... Even though I have died more than twice because of who and what I am... The only reason it's keeping me alive now is because it's truly the end and this is the last century, last decade... And it needs me alive to guide as many ppl as possible to Heaven since only "I know de whey"
Sorry. Turned into a meme rq 😂😅
I go now. Must prepare for the Full Moon and howl at it like a werewolf... For some reason, it's probably the answer to getting my features and the rest of my powers back... I feel like it's more than that but I haven't gotten anything else rn. It's possible that I was tripping or it's too late. It's the only reason I've been doing experiments on myself in the first place; To figure out why I don't feel human and if these powers are the only ones I have and why I have such a strong connection to the spiritual realm and souls... Apparently I'm suppose to be y'all's Savior ;-; :/ wish you humans could help me, but y'all don't know anything helpful for my problems 😔 plus, some are disguised but are demons, some are controlled by demons and some are humans that are just straight up evil. Luckily one of my powers that I got back so far is the one where I can tell who's evil and who's controlled by hugging them 🙃 I wish I could tell just by looking into their eyes deep into their soul, but nope. At least not yet... We'll see with time although gotta hurry. 2025 is when things get more dangerous. I just hope and pray it's not a z apocalypse but meteors. Maybe even aliens that will listen to what you have to say first before figuring out if they should k!ll you on site x~x Anything that isn't like zombies for our sake! If we do get them zs, I'd rather be patient zero instead...
@@kiranerysegordon5485 you good cuh ??
Love the idea of using metrics. I've always veered towards minimal intervention so I'd also really recommend dr Ellie's complete mouth care system.
All this information for free. Well done Bryan.
Why does he use fluoride-free toothpaste? Studies show it hardens enamel to supranatural levels. Or am I missing something?
It’s very good for teeth and has some degree of affect on bones but it calcifies and deteriorates your brain over time, not some crazy conspiracy theory just basic chemistry/biology
Call it conspiracy but it's 1. Not necessary and 2. unhealthy for other reasons like it calcifies your pineal gland and lowers intelligence
Because flouride is toxic to the human body and there is no actual scientifically proven benefit of it for your teeth.
Are you living under a rock, have you not seen the dstudies? Fluoride was found to dumb you down and Calcified the pineal Gland in your brain.
Studies show this… studies show that… lol fluoride isn’t that great for your overall health but the negligible amount one absorbs during brushing teeth shouldn’t be that much of an issue. It’s the fluoride in the water we should be worried about
I have two questions:
No. 1 - As many others have been asking: What happened to the Tea Tree Oil? You used to promote it and yet it is completely missing here... :(
No. 2 - Why Sensodyne Repair? At least here in Germany it failed quite a lot of tests. Especially for its: titanium dioxide as well as Sodium lauryl sulfate
Best regards
Same with some of the skin care he uses that contain toxins, I think he needs to change his medical team up.
@@maddysweden2179which skincare items?
I'm curious to know Bryan's answer to No. 2 as well. With regard to SLS, it's not a terrible ingredient per se and is in many products. It definitely does cause irritation/adverse reaction in many people that said.
Bryan Johnson is perhaps….one of the greatest motivational speakers of our day and age
Love the tips Bry
Bryan (and to everyone else interested in improving your oral health), I highly recommend reading *Cure Tooth Decay: Heal and Prevent Cavities with Nutrition* by Ramiel Nagel. It's a great book about oral health. (I know you already have your own diet, but you may learn some things.) It goes beyond curing and preventing cavities with nutrition, and talks about teeth brushing (use the blotting method), jaw alignment, and so much more.
What I like about this book is that it's very honest and tells you all its sources.
Ok dude
I love your new haircut
Excellent presentation of the subject matter, calm and to the point as well as thoughtful.
What about tea tree oil you had on your website?
highly recommend: 1) floss 2) oil pull with coconut oil 3) brush 4) tongue scrape 🦷
Was going to say, strange he's not doing oil pulling. Also strange he's talking about covering bad breath, because if your gut is healthy you don't have bad breath.
@@maddysweden2179not always the case. Its bacteria in the mouth festering. But he said only when he is coming into close contact with others, is when he uses wash, just as an extra preventative
Oil pulling causes yeast infections in my mouth. It kills off the good bacteria as well, giving yeast an advantage
@@janco333 coconut oil kills the yeast that cause yeast infection
@@janco333I've heard that if you switch the coconut oil with xylitol that will keep the good bacteria.
Great video! There are two things i would add, probably not for Bryan himself but fir most of us normies.
1) When drinking ANYTHING acidic, have water nearby. You can drink all the acidic drinks you want, but either take a sip of fresh water after each sip of acid drink or as soon as you are done with the acid drink, sip and swish water in your mouth. This will wash off the acidic liquid and limit exposure of the teeth to acidic substances.
2) chew xylitol sweetened gum after eating or drinking acidic drinks. Saliva raises the pH of your mouth and also brings minerals to your teeth and gums. I wouldn't rely on the gum because it's easy to overdo it, but it's a good tool to have and can keep breath fresh.
Also important to address mouth breathing at night because it can increase plaque deposits and create a dry mouth.
One thing I didn't realise until recent years is you're not meant to rinse your mouth out with water after you brush...just spit and leave it. Let what's left remain on your teeth.
Correct
Not when your toothpaste has fluoride.
@@AndroidAquaponicsTechespecially when your tooth paste contains fluoride
@@BulletMagnetJB the dentist says that if you don't rinse and just spit, the fluoride has more time to work on your teeth. BUT a neurologist would tell you that recent studies suggest that fluoride is a neurotoxin. Is it worth it to better your teeth at the cost of your brain? Take my friendly advice, rinse it away.
@@AndroidAquaponicsTech lots of endogenus things (things within the body) are neurotoxic! Calcium, magnesium, cholride, sodium - without these you would die within a matter seconds but are also neurotoxic. Signalling molecules like glutamate and nitric oxide are neurotoxic.
Vitamins are neurotoxic - are we going to stop eating broccoli, carrots, berries over fear of neurotoxicity from vitamin A?
How about stop eating meat because vitamin B is neurotoxic?
I’m not trying to argue with you and I hope you can see how more information is needed when considering what to put into our bodies
what about tea tree oil mouthwash, n teeth whitening?
As a dentist I watch a ton of these videos to see the crazy information all of my patients are watching. Not crazy at all, full of great advice for everyone. Nicely done. The only addition I would make is that if you are not restricting your sugars and acidic foods a fluoridated toothpaste can decrease your chance of tooth decay significantly.
The water pic will make the biggest difference. It really helps!
It will destroy your teeth and create pockets.
@BryanJohnson I think the best Complete Mouth Care System is the one by (Dentist) Dr. Ellie Phillips, that is a routine based on a pre-rinse with chlorine (gum cleaning, pH rise before brushing); brushing with sodium fluoride toothpaste (for enamel remineralization with fluoride-hydroxiapatite); then rinse with original listerine (essential oils that kill germs in their immature form): rinse with act flouride rinse (enamel remineralization with fluoride-hydroxiapatite, that is harder than hydroxiapatite). Then xilitol after each meal. Anyway thanks for shaing you're very inspirining!!
Dr Ellie’s mouth care system is great. I strongly agree with you (but it’s CloSys, not chlorine).
Uff this is a lot of chemicals. All mention is great and possible with less strong / intrusive stuff
@stefanosperanza1211 I also completely agree. Love this system.
@@litjellyfishwhy are chemicals bad?
@@BulletMagnetJB not all but some can kill off to much bacterials in you. Not just the bad ones but also the good ones. Too little studies to totally claim if this is an issue. So I can only speak from personal or other anecdotal “proof”
So sometimes “natural” things that give similar effects or at least good effect can be gentler to other parts of the body system
This is all excelent advice, dentist approved!
He is not using anything that doesn't work, he is not advising anything debatable. Great video.
I heard not so great things about this guy on the internet but this video was great advice.
YESSSSSSSSSS CAN YOU DO A SHOWER ROUTINE TOO PLEASE I NEED TO SEE THE PRODUCTS
1. A person needs a healthy biofilm.
2. Brush twice daily. Once in the morning upon waking and once in the evening.
3. Floss once daily, preferably in the evening.
I never get cavities, nor pockets, nor plaque and I'm over 50.
@LisaCulton Hi! a few questions. How do you promote a healthy biofilm? Do you agree on flossing before brushing? Thanks
@@TheAnimeKers I always floss before brushing. That's what makes sense to me. As far as biofilm, I don't know why some people have a healthier one than others. For instance, my son is like me and doesn't get cavities. He uses a plain manual toothbrush and flosses. His father has endless dental issues, yet he uses an electric toothbrush, xylitol, etc.
@@LisaCultonbecause you get your oral microbiote when you are born from environement and people around. you gave yours to your son
@LisaCulton Genetics. Some say the contents of your saliva may vary. Some people just have bad teeth due to genetics and no amount of dental care will cure it. Sure dental hygiene helps but there are people who never brush or floss and do not get cavities. Women also may find after pregnancy that they lose teeth or get cavities more easily. Maybe mineral dysregulation. There is also stress which increase teeth grinding at night. Don't know if autoimmune conditions play a part but some may make the person drier overall.
@TheAnimeKers Flossing is bad as it drives bad bacteria into the gums and bloodstream. See Dr. Ellie Phillips complete mouth care system to learn how to restore your teeth's natural biofilm.
I didn’t know how much could hide from floss until this video! Thank you for sharing this and your journey, Bryan, I’m a fanatic for data and Blueprint has been exactly what I’ve been looking for. If you’d like to hear a toothpaste recommendation to replace the fluoride filled one I use ORL and it’s fantastic for teeth but kind of pricey… it’s all based on what a person is looking for and there are always different options to supplement. Thank you for all that you do!
Flossing is very bad, drives the bad bacteria into the gums, then into the bloodstream. See Dr. Ellie Phillips.
Ive been a dentist for 400 years and i 100% agree with all these tips!
I would check out Dr Ellie Phillips mouth care system if you want to reverse cavities and prevent them. To my surprise Bryan’s oral care routine was a bit underwhelming… and some parts may even be outright wrong (like getting a cleaning every 6 months). If you are taking proper care of your mouth there should be absolutely 0 plague build up and therefore no reason to get a cleaning.
Completely agree with you. For someone who is that much into self improvement and health he has no clue when it comes to oral health 🤪I do like Dr. Ellie's approach even though I do not use her mouth care system.
It is good to go to your dentist every 6 months for a thorough cleaning and to see if anything is askew.
Weird advice telling people NOT to see their dentist.
Also, his oral care routine is sound. It doesn't need to be anything over the top at all. Even just brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing once will help most people avoid getting cavaties.
- a person that hasn't had cavaties in over 10 years.
@@leslieclawson6319 aight you little nitwit I never said not to see the dentist I said getting a cleaning shouldn’t be necessary if you’re taking proper care of your mouth.
You're absolutely right. Dental cleanings are harsh and invasive, and ineffective. They destroy your teeth's natural biofilm. Dr. Ellie Phillips system has saved my mouth. My teeth have never felt cleaner and there is absolutely no need for a dental cleaning at this point. I'm overjoyed. Teeth are whiter, brighter, stronger, smoother than ever before. Never thought this possible!!
This might be splitting too many hairs but I think water floss should be done after traditional floss and brushing.
When you string floss you are essentially transferring tartar to other locations. You might end up moving the tartar from one crevice to another. Some might even end up in a gum pocket.
Brushing won’t get it out. Mouth wash might rinse most of it out but it’ll still leave some behind.
Here is the optimal order to get the most out of your dental hygiene tools:
1. Tongue scrape
2. String floss
3. Brush
4. Water floss
5. Mouth wash
I love you Bryan, keep up the good work! ✌️😎
Or just water floss before, get the harder stuff out with normal floss after, then a quick water flossing again just to wash the little bits of debris out. Or - who knows - maybe at that point just a quick swishing would do too *shrugs*
You should do a study on it! :D
Not much in his meals will get stuck in his teeth anyway.
I've always felt that rinsing after brushing is a no-no, is this not the case? especially for mouth wash, always heard that it shouldn't be done after brushing. need to open up a discussion on this, perhaps Bryan or other dentists can weigh in
@@Stray396 You definitely want to rinse if you used fluoride toothpaste. Fluoride is a neurotoxin. No, I am not a dentist, but I have read up on neurotoxins and try to steer clear of them.
I water pick both before and after flossing. Hygienist always remarks on how healthy my teeth and gums are and she has almost nothing to clean at my bi-yearly cleanings.
