  • These commercials aired in November of 1990
    1. "The Disney Afternoon" Commercial Bumper
    2. Dragon Warrior/Nintendo Power (Um, this is amazing. I had no idea they even aired commercials for this magazine. I was a subscriber for about 10 years after getting my SNES in '92. Also, the guy here sporting the Darth Vader Viking helmet is Casper Van Dien, aka Johnny Rico from "Starship Troopers"!!!)
    3. Cool Cuts Kara (Part of me wishes this was how getting a haircut worked in real life. Keep your hair the same length forever with the option to buy longer hair if you ever wanted it)
    4. Power Wheels Jeep Safari
    5. Cabbage Patch Kids ("She looks like you"...that is a harsh insult)
    6. "Disney's Adventures Of The Gummi Bears" Commercial Bumper
    7. "The Disney Afternoon" Commercial Bumper
    8. Pacific Power PSA (With Louie The Lightning Bug, voiced by Jack Sheldon of "Schoolhouse Rock" fame)
    9. Oopsie Daisy
    10. "Mickey Look" View-Master
    11. Lite Brite
    12. Mouse Trap
    13. "Disney's Adventures Of The Gummi Bears" Commercial Bumper
    14. "The Disney Afternoon" Commercial Bumper
    15. Batman Dark Knight Collection (LOL at that Batman mask. The "Sonic Neutralizer" was a re-purposed Star Wars Stormtrooper Blaster Rifle. Kenner was doing a lot of Star Wars recycling around this period i.imgur.com/uu.... I can vividly remember all of this stuff in the aisles at Kay Bee)
    16. Froot Loops
    17. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Sewer Dragster, Psycho Cycle and Pizza Face (I had Pizza Face and it was probably the grossest figure in the series)
    18. Peanut Butter M&M's (Partial. My favorite candy! I had forgotten what the original packaging looked like)
    19. "The Disney Afternoon" Commercial Bumper
    20. WWF Action Figures (With Jesse Ventura, Macho Man Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior)
    21. Oatmeal Swirlers
    22. Spy Tech
    23. "The Disney Afternoon" Commercial Bumpers
    24. Corn Pops (With Jenny Lewis)
    25. G.I. JOE Avalanche and Cobra Hurricane
    26. "Disney's Adventures Of The Gummi Bears" Commercial Bumper
    27. "The Disney Afternoon" Commercial Bumper
    28. Twister
    29. The Babysitter's Club Game
    30. Undercover Bears Oatmeal
    31. Hush Little Baby (With Thora Birch)
    32. "Disney's Adventures Of The Gummi Bears" Commercial Bumper
    33. "The Disney Afternoon" Commercial Bumper
    34. Hot Wheels California Custom (I had the woodie)
    35. Super Golden Crisp (With Musical Sugar Bear Ornament)
    36. Life
    37. Peanut Butter M&M's
    38. Promo for "Bon Voyage!" (Partial)

My ears remember the 90s even better than my eyes do.

Here in 2020, proving the existence of Undercover Bears Oatmeal to a friend.

Oh man, that Dragon Warrior ad though. Look at the cgi dragon! CGI has certainly come a long way since 1990.

Holy Crap. That Dragon Warrior/Nintendo Power commercial. Wild as all hell seeing that again.
My mom took advantage of that offer. Loved Dragon Warrior (which by proxy made me a fan of RPGs), and was subbed to Nintendo Power up until around the time the Nintendo 64 came out.

I still have that Sugar Bear ornament I got out of the cereal box. The battery died but I still have the ornament.

I love how Mouse Trap has managed to stay around all these years.

I actually got the free Dragon Power game as part of that Nintendo Power promotion. Mega Man 3 was on the cover my first issue that year.

That Dragon Warrior promotion was insanely successful for Nintendo. They also did advertise every so often.
I think the kid with the Batman gear is acting more like the Terminator!

One of my favorite things to do with these and the 80s Commercials is to try and guess the year of the commercials. This was fun as always.

These are actually from the Disney Afternoon block that aired in syndication, not the Disney Channel.

Whenever I see anything having to do with peanut butter M&M's, I laugh. We had a mouse sneaking around one Easter, and the only candy it ate was the peanut butter M&M's. When my parents finally caught him, they said he was extremely fat.

Mmm I eat Peanut M&M's all the time but...Peanut Butter M&M's? Have I sinned in openly admitting I've never even heard of those kind before? They sound pretty good. Maybe I should pick those up soon.

Also, I miss Nintendo Power, but I can't wait until Dragon Quest XI is released this year!

What is up with that "Pizza Face" villain? I don't remember; was he in the cartoon? Or was he just some character they made up for the Ninja Turtles toys? Either way, man, that guy looks like total nightmare fuel.

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  Před 6 lety +5

No, he never appeared in the cartoon, but I think that was pretty standard as far as some of those side TMNT figures went. Here's his file card from the action figure, pretty dark stuff: i.imgur.com/Vsfy2Yb.jpg

He later did appear in the 2012 cartoon where... Yeah, if you feel like sleeping tonight, I highly advise against looking his 2012 version up.

Dragon Warrior-i remember the animated show, was airing in syndication for a time..animation was by the same people behind the Dragon Ball Z shows
Cabbage Patch Kids-girl shouldve replied,"No,she looks like your mother."
Batman DKC-that mask kind of looks like the one that teen Bruce Wayne wears as part of his pre-Batman vigilante suit in Gotham, minus the horns
GI Joe-Avalanche and the Hurricane were among the vehicles featured in the less-popular season produced by DIC
