This movie was originally written and voice acted in Portuguese because the film was made in Brazil, so I bet that the weird dialogue is filled with translation errors. That’s not an excuse for the awful dialogue; I just thought that it was worth mentioning.

I met Veronica Taylor (The voice of Ash, the bee in this film, Sailor Pluto and many others) about a year ago at a convention. She's super nice in person and she signed a print of Ash for me, along with giving me a little card that said 'Veronica's Heroes' just for fun. She talked to me, just wanting to know how I was enjoying the convention and she assured me I wasn't wasting her time or bothering her (I apologized for taking too long and being nervous and she said 'You're totally fine! How are you today? I like your cosplay!') I had bought a Rowlet plush and jokingly said 'his name is Stanley' and she laughed, saying that she loved it. She's super welcoming and nice! If you have the chance to meet her, you should. Idk, I just wanted to share it. Hope you all are staying safe!

Technically bees don't automatically die when stinging something, they just often get stuck in thick skin and rip themselves in half to get out. Human skin is thick enough this usually happens.

I swear I watched this movie multiple times as a kid. I still have the dvd, it even comes in "legit" looking packaging. It also has a greek dub which is surprising for this kind of movie. This video was really fun to watch, very nostalgic.

The bee stinger is meant for other insects and small animals like arachnids, rodents or little birds, and can be used multiple times. The reason they die after stinging a human is because our skin has a thicker subcutaneous layer that the stinger sings into and gets stuck. To free themselves they basically have to pull out their own inards, but this is mainly a problem with humans and a few other large mammal, once the mammal gets big enough the skin tends to be so thick they don't even penetrate in the first place. So humans are somewhat uniquely unsuited as a target for a bee sting, unlucky for them

Bees actually don't die when they use their stingers, at least they aren't supposed to. Their stinger just gets stick in soft skin and is hard to pull out, if the bee pulls it out wrong they will die, but they can get them out after some maneuvering.

That’s actually a common misconception. Bee’s aren’t supposed to have their stingers ripped out after stinging someone. Our skin is incredibly stretchy so when stung, the stinger gets stuck in our skin. This is unbelievably different with literally every other animal or insect of course. They aren’t supposed to die from stinging us, they just tend to because our skin is too stretchy and latches on to the stinger. If you let the bee stay there after stinging you you’ll actually see that they will move around in circles, which is them trying to pull the stinger out without, you know. Dying.

hi yes i actually love bees like theyre one of my favourite creatures so about what you said for them dying when they sting, generally, yes they will if they sting people. thats because their stingers were not made to sting humans they were made to sting other creatures. with most other creatures their stinger comes out but with humans the barbs on their stingers get caught. thanks for coming to my tedtalk
