wanted to mention that my editor messed up the clips when I talked about them saying senorena. throught the movie pinocchio says senorena but in the beggining tybalt says senoritas. so its very confusing and my editor used the wrong clip. sorry!
They did a great job otherwise tho, made me laugh a few times
"Feet"💀💀
Well, we are talking about a movie that is made up out of bad cuts, your editor made a small mistake, luckely not an entire movie xD
please review the pagemaster man
Bro what the fuck? That was the shittiest movie I've ever seen a breakdown for 😶.
damn editor is getting banned on twitch for that one
That line about Leonardo is so poorly thought out. It makes sense how he doesn't want his son to only care about pizza or be selfish, but for Da Vinci, he just says "an artist" without any reason given why he's against that. He's an artist himself for making wood carvings, so it makes no sense.
90% of "Artist" dont make money. Everybody is an "Artist" of some kind and struggle to make money off it because of over saturation.Like how nikocado avocado went to new York to become a violinist but it was over saturated and he couldn't make money off his immense skill. This led us to have the Nik we know now, making money of a talent of fake reality YT show
And don't forget Da Vinci was also a draughtsman, engineer, scientist, theorist, sculptor and architect. (polymath)
so, who weren't want their kid be like Da Vinci.
@@moxiemaxie3543 it’s because we live in a false meritocracy that creates the concept of hitting a max quota on how much human talent we allow to be seen and rewarded, when that’s not how people work or how we acquire and display skills. The world wasn’t full up on violinists, the sensationalism and accessibility of CZcams and how easy it is to get into addictive cycles with making influencer content.
Also, maybe he doesn’t want his son to paint him a grandchild I dunno
Nerf miner
@@moxiemaxie3543 nailed it. I've been told my whole life I'm "artistic". I can do music, drawing, writing, and fabrication -- know how much I've made off that; 30-50$. Not exactly killing it on the cash flow. Admitadly it's partially for lack of putting myself out there, but also because the markets are both undervalued and oversaturated. Living in small town Canada certainly ain't helping much either.
Pauly Shore only defends this movie because it’s gotten him the most publicity he's had in years. He's literally the most non famous famous person to exist
That's what happens when you're entire personality is based on the 1990s-2000s
That makes a lot of sense actually.
Didn't he do a spring break thing for MTV? Wierd al is more famous and well..he just does parodies lol...IRL love Al...also love Paul shore..I dunno if it's satire or not but he is cringe AF now...maybe a bit of both..idk...he has a channel haha..didn't age well physically..still love bio dome NFG!

Fun fact, once you notice that none of the audio is synced up, you won’t stop noticing it
Pretty sure that's because the movie is dubbed over, tbh. I think it was originally released in Russia.
@@dawndoe11 I did not know that, that makes sense I think
It's very easy to pick up on it being dubbed when you hear the out of breath "high quality material" voice line.
I thought it was just a video editor rendering error-but now that you and others mention it, it makes perfect sense
Oh, I never NOT noticed it, it was so obvious throughout the whole thing. I understand that it was an English dub over another language, but I've seen MUCH better lip sync than that in other dubbed movies that were much older than this one. The graphics and jokes are like those of an indie movie studio with very few workers from the 90s, not from 2022.
Just as a fun fact, circus big tops were actually covered in gasoline. Gasoline and paraffin wax or something, to waterproof the canvas.
“Should we cover our tents in a highly flammable liquid that could spontaneously combust with just a spark and cause an incredibly dangerous explosion that will incinerate anyone inside or should we just forecast the weather?”
“… Are you.. fucking.. STUPID?! Why would we forecast the weather?! Oi’ Charlie! Get the buckets of gasoline!”
@@mishmash4760 To be fair, back when gasoline was used for waterproofing I dont think that weather forecasting was stupendously reliable.
@@mishmash4760 especially since they often had FIRE acts lol
@@chloekm7958 agreed. but like I try to figure out what time this takes place, but like, the fairy godmothers clothes are medieval but some of the other characters are 19th century with bowler hats and stuff. so predicting weather in any kind was either considered bordeline sorcery or if this takes place later, was just beginning to be a proper science ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ take your pick lol

Growing nose: too goofy for a story about a puppet coming to life.
Talking horse: A story with great mystery and wonder.
The mystery and wonder comes from wondering how this movie was even made, lol
I'm 99% certain the Lionsgate grabbed a foreign Indy film and slapped on an English dub, and released it like that. You'd be surprised how many times they've done this.
i don't think it was indie, but everything else is true. it's a russian film based off of the "russian version" of Pinocchio, albeit with a ton of creative liberties taken. (sorry if this all sounds super vague im trying to remember what i read in a separate comment someone made on saberspark's commentary)
I used to love Lionsgate because of the horror movies they released.
But now... I'm having doubts...

i wanna say a kid wrote this but i have seen 12 year old girls write insanely good fanfiction
the plot is about the equivalent if a 7-year-old had seen both Dumbo and Pinocchio and wants to do a crossover and so it happens ( but Dumbo was removed due to different time periods and copyright laws )

Hey, don't hate on Pauly Shore, he did an amazing job at portraying a wooden character!
I see what your saying and I have to agree. Exactly what I would imagine a wooden child to sound like.
I dunno, the 1940 film did a better job with Pinocchio's voice. In that version, Pinocchio is a little boy, and he sounds like a little boy. This Pinocchio is implied to be a teenager, and Pauly Shore is in his 50's. Plus the line delivery is absolute garbage. It really does not work.
@@evangelinewood3325 If I have to explain my pun, the joke is ruined.
@@pyronuke4768 I got the joke! Clever too!
You know Pauly was hired because he had one fine piece of wood
The movie itself was originally written/produced/recorded in Russian, they then did an English dub with Pauly Shore and all those ppl. So that's partly why some of the vocal pacing/vocabulary choices are especially odd or unnatural, they probably didn't invest in a good translator/writer for the English version. I also believe that contributed to the massive lack of context and explanation, but regardless of if it had been translated correctly the premise, production, and overall quality/composition of the movie is trash lol.
If it’s Russian it’s always either racist or awful quality
Actually it's a story about Buratino, not Pinocchio. It's a horrible mistake
@@darkmegan7284 Oh my god, that explains so much. Although either way this is a poor adaptation, but that explains a lot.
Reminds me of another film called Clara, it was a Ukrainian CGI family film (not sure if it was released worldwide or not, I think it was 2017/18?) I guess they wanted the film to be released for western audiences, I remember watching the trailer (with English dub I presume) and people were confused by what the film was about or what it was trying to come across as. Even I was scratching my head at it. I found out that it was released in the UK (on demand/streaming service here), I saw this a year ago but not sure if it’s still available.
The Oblivion NPC music fits too damn well in this.
See, you're expecting Pinocchio to speak as if he were a human. This is a wooden dummy given sentience and life. Pauly Shore did an absolute out of the park performance, playing Pinocchio as if he was truly the puppet come to life. Emotionless and monotone, truly embracing the character. This movie is superb on all levels. Bravo. Bravo.
Truly, marvelous voice acting
I hope this is sarcasm. 🤨

And he wouldn’t have formed muscle memory yet, which is why he says Tybalt in a completely different way every single time.
honestly if with the whole "signorina" thing they were going for a "ladies and gentleman" type thing it would've been better to just say "signori e signore", since that's the equivalent in italian, and since pinocchio was written by an italian writer it could've been a nice touch
but yeah, I guess they just kind of confused italian and spanish, idk-
As a Chilean I can confirm that Italian is just drunk Spanish. If we were talking about an average dude with little to no knowledge on these languages, that mistake would be pretty funny. But we’re talking about Lionsgate here, a millionaire movie studio. It’s just embarrassing
I just wish they left the literary tradition of my country alone.
While we're here about Pinocchio check out "Lies of P" its a game that's like a dark take on the story. Looks like Bloodborne but with puppets.
Yeah it looks dope

"You think Disney just put together a movie to fool the Grandparents into buying it mistaking it for a Pinocchio movie coming out?"
Actually they did...kinda. Guillermo del Toro has been making a stop-motion Pinocchio movie for years, and is about to release on Netflix later this year. The Disney Remake is said to have been made just to steal away money from Guillermo del Toro's lifelong creation.
Not even remotely accurate about the them doing it to steal money away from del Toro’s film
The mouse is a spiteful master.
That’s Disney for you, a corporation
Like the thief and the cobbler
Considering that Disney has rereleased The Lion King in theaters multiple times to steal views from other promising animated movies, I wouldn’t be surprised
Thank you No Name Russian Animation Studio for bringing back Pauly Shore into the spotlight after 15 years of a hiatus in acting.
You made an ironically enjoyable disaster.
Geppetto and Tibalt are married, that’s why Pinocchio is son to both of them.
Also that’s why Tibalt says “So long, my dear Geppetto” as they leave at the start.
*father when can i leave to be on my own* - i still can’t accept that this line in that tone is supposed to be from pinocchio 💀
Could you do the Tintin movie. It’s one of the best animated movies I’ve ever seen, and it has actual good motion capture. On top of all this it directed by Steven Spielberg and composed by John Williams. Steven Spielberg had this movie in the works for almost thirty years and it shows

Ok, the main detective is supposed to be Bella's dad, I think. Only heard it in another youtubers review.
Note: If you want to laugh at this movie, do not watch the UK Dub. It has more fitting voices, but it's not the same.
I know I may seem dumb but why is there a UK dub? I mean the movie was already made in English. Again I know this seems dumb to ask but I really want to know why.
@@stardustdemon8273 BC UK people have different accents than the US, and the pronunciations of the English language are different in both countries. So for English words Americans pronounce in their American way, British people have a slim chance of understanding.

22:02 actually pig it’s a possibility the tent was covered in gasoline, circus tents were made waterproof by using paraffin wax (which is thinned with gasoline) back when they were first popular.
The reason the detectives were in the movie was for the sake of revealing that Bella was the lead detective's daughter, she had been kidnapped about 11 years ago, then taken from the kidnapper by the ringmaster. That reveal being at the very end of the movie.
This movie isn't based on italian version of pinocchio. This movie is based on Russian version of Pinocchio called Buratino. Most of characters are from that story.
I feel like the actor Pauly Shore could've been good if they just made the rest of a movie a joke. Kinda like Hoodwinked did back in the day, but instead they just took it too seriously.
Ok I'm not sure if anyone noticed it, but the "daughter bought by a travelling circus/performer" plot point sounds so much like a twist on La Strada, 1954 italian film (english title: The Road) - that would explain, at least partially, that weird mix of plots they went for here, as well as some of the quotes/decisions of the characters.
Yeah no I think they just went with "uh teenage join circus to make money with his $ick Moves!". This poor excuse for a movie is a russian cashgrab, I don't think they even know that La Strada exists.
@@Heidegaff LMAO yeah that is most probably the case... And again I'm reaching VERY far here, but there's another fun detail I recalled when thinking of that weird-ass Pinocchio plot. Because I knew it sounds familiar.
One of the classic Disney comic artists, Giorgio Cavazzano, made a tribute to Federico Fellini and had drawn a Mickey Mouse comic inspired with La Strada. In that particular story The Fool is played by Mickey, a love interest of Gelsomina (Minnie). Now, Gelsomina in the very end turns out to be a daughter of local policeman, "played" by Chief O'Hara, as she was apparently kidnapped as a child by Gypsies and later on sold to Zampanò (Pete).
Just a fun fact more than anything, though. For those interested in the comic, full title was "Mickey Mouse presents La Strada : A tribute to Federico Fellini"
The movie is originally in Russian so I think they just tried to keep the original sentence cadence and sentiments which we know doesn’t work with translations really. I think that’s why the pacing is so off and some of the sentences sound… strange. Also you have a funny way of pronouncing gepetto😂😂😂
absolutely obsessed with the way he calls him "gepetty"
The scene starting 04:48 with the oblivion music was spot on. When not looking you almost couldnt't tell if it was actually Oblivion or not, sounded exactly like what cruising through Bravil or sum shit would sound like.
Random movie you should do a review on. A Knight's Tale. Starring Heath Ledger. I love it to hell and back. But I know the story and aspects can be weird.
One of my favourite movies ever! Absolutely delightful.
My boyfriend is a retired jouster & a Knight's Tale is required watching lol
Why? It’s a great movie.
With the animation style and Pauly Shore being a voice actor, I was expecting this movie to have came out in the 2000's. Was shocked when I saw it was released in 2021!
The only movie I’ve seen that has done the whole “this is the REAL story of such and such” is Lion King 1 1/2.
This movie makes me thankful that we're getting that stop motion Pinochio movie at the end of the year.
This is only the first of THREE Pinnochio movies coming out this year. Guillermo Del Toro has one coming out this year too AND it's actually animated, I believe it's stop motion (or at least 3d to look like it).
In the defense of Bella, there are very soft spoken people who exist, like they just sound quiet no matter how hard they try, often due to a medical condition or something along that line.
was so excited for this. you forget the subplot about how bella was actually the kidnapped daughter of the detective the entire time
They say to always follow your dreams. But sometimes your dreams look like this and then you realize you are having a waking nightmare and crying out for help and Pig just laughs at you while you make Pinocchio: A True Story as a cry for help.
How could you, BP?
I think what's so sad about this is the animation looks decent and with the right voice actors and lines it could look again decent
That girl looks like a knockoff version of corpse bride and her hair somehow managed to look like that 2012 stiff amateur Hatsune Miku hair.
They have good voice actors, but not good voice acting. Even good actors phone it in sometimes…
The animation in the scenes where Pinocchio gets shot and where he saves Bella from the fire looks just as unnatural as those epic 2010 flash animations people used to do back then
the animation is atrocious for today's standards. doesn't look appealing whatsoever. character models? garbage.
@@Axeeco Also in that scene there is no bullet hole in either Pinocchio or his clothing. It looks more like he was force pushed.
Fun fact(which someone may have already said) Old big top circus tents would actually be covered in oils and gas to protect them from rain. so the big top just catching fire in only a few seconds isn't that unbelievable.
Hands down fave Pauly Shore film- Son in law.
The scene with the turkey in the kitchen is classic

For some reason everytime I think about this movie I think of Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart, probably cause it has a similar premise, a boy with a Cuckoo Clock for a heart is told to hide his weirdness from everyone but ends up falling in love with a girl and goes on an adventure in the name of love, I think my brain is trying to protect itself from how bad Pinochio: A true story is by making me remember a movie that is actually good, the human mind is a wonderful thing!

Ok, as someone who talks Spanish I understand the confusion in the beginning, the horse say "Señor y Señorita" (with the English accent "senior y seniourita) both words in Spanish, the traduction of ladies=señorita and gentlemen=senor
(The ñ pronounce as "enie"...or at least is the most close sound I can relate)
Ok, now with that clear, why exactly the movie use Spanish expressions in an Italian history like Pinocchio? I'm a little confused about that, isn't Italian expressions better option than Spanish expressions in an Italian movie?
(Sorry for the bad English, I'm not very good at the language :b)
It's hard to accept, but...we live in a society and I guess that if you don't speak italian or spanish yourself you can't possibily tell the difference between the two languages 🙃
