- In the 8th episode of The Sims 3 details and features I share 12 more amazing details and features (no way!!) that prove just how underrated this game is, at least from the details standpoint. After a bunch of longer episodes, I'm back with a shorter video and I hope you'll enjoy it. I certainly had a ton of fun working on it. :D

One more detail about announcing pregnancy: not all sims will have a positive reaction. It depends on the relationship type and level, and the traits of the sims. For example, if you break up with your partner, and then you announce them that you're pregnant, they could have a very negative reaction.
Or if you are their side chick.
Sims that dislike children always have a bad reaction
I got the sims 3 with some expansion packs during the Winter sale on steam and now I can take a look at all these nich details myself. Sims 2 and 3 are the best sims games in my opinion
*Mary-Sue would've been a terrible youtuber ngl, it took me a while to film the intro as she kept messing up even after i had set her Charisma skill to 10 lmao*

I don't know if anyone ever found this out but if your sim eats spicy food and gets a bad moodlet from it, they can potentially set objects on fire from the steam coming out of their mouth. This happened to me when I played the Goth family; Cornelia ate spicy food and went to use the toilet afterwards (lol) and she set the nearby sink on fire.

@@crazymarq4390 they were at the Cantina Cafe at Champs Les Sims, the bathroom there is pretty small so that might help trigger it
I heard that this can happen also from one of the fairy pranks. Specifically, the breathing fire can set the fairy on fire (i never confirmed nor denied that fact, I heard that it can rarely happen).
slightly unrelated but do your sims also glitch and get up to blow the fire but then snap into the sitting position? It's really odd

4:29 There is a glitch where sims are not allowed to leave for school during their grounding
Ah yeah, that's so annoying! And then they get grounded again for not going to school...
And when they've been ungrounded, they still have the creeping around walk. Like WTF?
you can "let off the hook" to prevent this from happening, or get the adults out of the house so the teen won't get caught "sneaking out" (it's still a dumb oversight tho)

Meteorite facts!
Excessive use of the computer increases the chances of a meteorite landing on your lot. It almost always happens when I am grinding the writing skill. The computer goes off and the Sim wonders why it got so dark.
Chances are also higher when using a telescope, inventing, or when a cat stalks prey.
You will see a shadow if a meteorite is incoming. You can free up their actions and redirect your Sim to stand close enough to be singed, or to be killed by it.
Meteorites will only lock onto Sims older than children when the initial landing locarion is calculated. A kid has to stand right next to them to be killed as well.
If a meteorite will hit a rabbithole lot, the people inside will evacuate- unless it is a school. If it hits the building, everyone inside will die. Which means it is quite possible to oneshot kill every child and teen in your world.
Aliens can attract meteorite storms. On a big lot this can cause multiple deaths.
Meteor showers for smaller rocks can be attracted with the magnet that Emit Relevart gives you and meteor showers are common in the Dystopian future.
You can 'spot' a meteor falling through a telescope and have a pin on the map for the space rock location.
The space rock Unusual Sporecite is a reference to the EA game, Spore.
Count your llamas! There is also an Unusual Llamatite, and Unusual Bellacyte, named of course dor our dear Bella.
Stewart Curious (Twinbrook) is the only premade Sim who died from a metrorite. Like other deceased in Twinbrook, he has green skin and white hair.
It's so funny seeing people freaking out about a whole generation of their town being wiped out by an unfortunate meteor aha

Gosh darn my sims constantly had issues with toilets… they NEVER worked properly. Also with mail people…. I swear they always got an attitude in my game. Lol mail was always on the ground..

Not sure about cats but dogs can for sure roll in puddles in Sims 2. Believe me, I've witnessed too many strays rolling in their own pee 😂
Two things to say about fact 9.
1. Great! Now try telling it to a sim who dislikes children.
2. Many good events can be announced, like promotions and getting engaged. Sims can also warn others of misfortunes they've recently experienced, like fires.

If the Sims from The Sims 3 aren’t robotic, I could play it. But genuinely the fluent gameplay of 2 makes me still playing it until now 😔

Ah yes, the good days of open world 😍. I wish Sims 4 had everything Sims 3 offered, and kept the style of Sims 4.
In Sims 3 Supernatural, if you create ghost with the type of death "mummy curse" in CAS his lifespawn will count time of the curse (for me it worked on young adult). So, his life will be a little bit shorter.

The fishing one reminds me of how Sims with a low horse riding skill will climb up backwards
It seems that this isn't really public knowledge, but if your kid/teenage sim gets grounded, you can choose to control the adult sim and unground them (it's much better than begging, because begging can fail).
Also, failing to do one of the singing telegrams from the singer profession (the one that has a sim fall on top of the music&effects box they put down to do the telegram as a fail animation) can rarely set the sim on fire.
On top of that, the inventing station (the place you use scrap to make objects) can set your sim on fire (electrocute them if you have the fireproof house), and getting hurt from using an object can make a sim want to sell that object.
Speaking of inventions, the time machine that can be crafted using scrap can actually break, and for repairing it you most likely need the skill needed for crafting it (never checked it, I just hired a repairman and he died XD)
Fun fact: if an NPC (such as the repairman) dies while still being considered an NPC (you didn't move them in for example), when you ask their ghost about their job, they would still mention having one (the one from before their deaths)
I love how I mentioned something relevant to the video (your sim did get grounded), then added something from myself (which included fire), rementioned fire adding inventing and electricity to the mix, then rementioned inventing and electricity and added an NPC and death, and then finished with rementioning NPCs and their deaths.
That's how you write a multiple fact comment.
speaking of details, ever looked inside a UFO? There's a kitty toy stuck to the window and a cup of coffee, it's very neat!
well the pets drinking and playing in puddles and the falling over when fishing with low skill is in sims 2 also but great vid :D

I believe in the Sims 2 also pets can beg for food while the sim is preparing meals, though I don’t remember what triggers it. I think it’s when the pets are hungry.
In The Sims 2 if the Sim's date has high particular skills (cooking, cleaning etc.) there's a chance that your Sim will get a skill point when the date ends. You can also get restaurant coupons.

How about small details in the sims 1 like sims cutting themselves while using chopping boards when preparing food to electrical arcs when repairing tvs or sims changing light bulbs. Sims 2 does have electric arcs too when repairing tvs which stops sims from repairing unlike it’s predecessor.
Yeah it's about time i start working on another episode of Sims 1 details. I'm just not as familiar with that game and currently don't have much free time to properly explore it but i'll get round to it eventually

I have one for you I don’t think I’ve seen in any of your videos: In the Sims 3, sims will have different reactions to gifts based on their traits. For example, if you gift a sim a flower who has the “hates the outdoors” trait, they will react negatively. I had another example but I can’t remember exactly what the gift was, maybe a painting, that was gifted to a sim with the “can’t stand art” trait who reacted negatively as well.
why are sims 3 people physically more detailed than sims 4
The devs took a more stylised approach for Sims 4, not necessarily a bad thing. I generally prefer realism but some Sims 3 characters look a bit weird, especially the pre-mades
@@crazymarq4390 It got bad in Bridgeport, the bouncers and butlers are so weird looking. I had a lady butler with the biggest rack I had ever seen on a slim Sim (turns out there is this sweet spot in the fat slider where only the boobs grow significantly), who told me she finds it barbaric how people obsess over the size of women's busts.
They went for a more cartoony, simplified style for the Sims 4 which is a generally more popular style. Plus a lot of people complained about how uncanny the Sims 3 sims can look. Tbh I do hate some of the shortcuts they took with the Sims 4. Feet look like pixelated bricks and fingers look like sausages, while they were so detailed in the Sims 3 in comparison.
I actually like the art style in The Sims 3, but I can see why some people might find it uncanny. It's definitely not for everyone.

sims can accuse other sims of cheating, which is not a fun fact at all it's obvious lol,, but after having sims queue the action out of nowhere, I found that 1) sims can learn about cheating from the gossip spread throughout town, and 2) sims can falsely queue the accuse of cheating, meaning they think someone has cheated even though they might not have done so
This is makin me wish they would fix the sims 3 for Mac so I can finally replay it because I miss this game so much
