This song was actually written by Steven Tyler (lead singer) when he was 17 years old; he wrote it on piano. Joe Perry (lead guitarist) had to "translate" the piano to guitar and did a superb job of it. Their next album...."Toys In the Attic".....is FULL of fantastic songs. "Walk This Way".....is a MUST do for y'all. I can provide further Aerosmith recommendations to you later. Great choice; great video as always, guys. :)

He's not really exaggerating. I wouldn't put it up with Stairway, but it's close, and in rareified air. Pretty much every Classic Rock station will play this song at least once per day. It's also possible that you heard the re-recorded version that Aerosmith did for the Last Action Hero Soundtrack almost 20 years after the initial release. Stephen's voice sounds a bit different, and the instruments are a little faster and more prominent.

The first song Steven Tyler wrote with Joe Perry is "Movin' Out" from the band's 1973 debut album, so good. Okay now check out "Toys in the Attic" both the song and the album from 1975. "Back in the Saddle" from the 1976 Rocks album, this album kicks ass. The 2004 Honkin' On Bobo album is blues and covers, "You Gotta Move" is a Mississippi Fred McDowell cover, the band nailed it. There are so many beauties from this band, thank you for including them and enjoy guys!!

I love every single song on this first album, every single song. It's all just fire to me. I love the quality of the mix, it's just that early 70s stripped-down rock and roll but there's still a lot of thought put into the texture of it. Mama Kin, you got to check it out. And their interpretation of the Rufus Thomas song walking the dog is just incredible. Some of the other songs incorporate flute in the perfect way for rock and roll. It's all just so fun and so atmospheric.

I saw Aerosmith at Madison Square Garden on their Dream On tour when I was 18. Rick Derringer was the opening act. Some cute guy on the train to NYC offered his lap to me when there were no seats left on the train packed with concert goers & I got separated from my friends. Some poor older commuter guy was stuck in the window seat surrounded by a cloud of smoke from all the passing joints. I was totally wasted by time I found my friends when we got off the train. They were so jealous! Great concert!

Steven Tyler gave it all to Rock in every live performance for 40 years. As you get older, the songs become more powerful, should do a full-run of Aerosmith from 70’s to Current. Steven is literally crippled now from all the dancing on stage, his feet and knees are destroyed.

As you guys said this is just iconic. Also I'm now 54 and still loving this music, but the lyrics really hit home the older you get - just like Pink Floyd's "Time". There's nothing you can do to slow down getting older but songs like this remind us to really LIVE life and not get caught up in the crap.
